8.1 Windows via Boot Camp on El Capitan, iMac mid 2011

I am desperately trying for a while now to do an installation of bootcamp Windows 8.1 on my iMac 2011 mid 21.5 ' with El Capitan.

Many solutions exist for the older iMac like mine, but nothing seems to work for me. I have already applied the BCA 'hack' to edit the info.plist to make the option to generate a setup available disk, I also tried the 'old fashioned' way of installing via burn the iso image to a dvd.

I already tried several USB sticks (8 and 32 GB).

The result is always the same: "no boot device found; "Insert one and press any".

If theres no suggestion on how to get windows on my Mac, I would be really happy. I don't mind which way, as mentioned previously, I still have an internal optical drive.

Concerning

You cannot use a USB on Mac 2011 Installer. A physical DVD will work. If the Microsoft ISO is not burned properly, it will not start.

Please describe the method that you used to create the DVD ISO.

I want to use Windows 10 (for games) on my 2013 MacBook Air (13 ", 128GB flash, 1.3 GHz Intel i5, 4 GB of RAM), but I want to install it on my external hard drive because I am almost out of space SSD (34 GB remaining), and I know how large windows is. I have an external 1 TB harddrive that I use for my backups Time Machine, and I was wondering if I could transfer my copy of Windows hard disk external and implemented via Boot Camp. • 19 Windows in boot camp with el capitan

I tried to install 10 windows using boot camp and not have a bit of luck to succeed. I got the partition in boot camp, got an iso 10 load on a flash key windows, got windows to install and accept the key. When he asks to load the drivers up and say that there is no drivers are found. I went through everything, including windows dvd in the external drive. Where can I find the drivers in order to move forward and complete the installation?

    1. in what year/model is your Mac?

    2. If the BCA is used to create the installer from USB, it automatically includes the proper drivers.

  • Error: "could not create a new partition or locate a" when installing Windows via Boot Camp 10

This error occurs on my 2012 15-inch MacBook Pro. I have 2 hard drives. One dedicated to OSX and one for Windows. This is my first install bootcamp. I let bootcamp create partitions, but to the partition/disk screen hard to choose, I get a message saying: "we could not create a new partition or locate a.. The partition has been formatted to NTFS. I tried later in this guide community post here: error: "we could not create a new partition or locate and existing" install Windows via Bootcamp 8.1, but no luck. I even tried to delete the partitions and create a partition empty for windows so it can create and format on its own and start using EFI. At this point, windows begins to install it and restart, but it fails during the part material recording and restarts. Then when it starts again I get a message that the installation has failed.

Here's some output terminal which can help you to (I) hope.

You must disconnect the internal bus 500 GB SATA drive and use a flashdrive USB2 for OS X from startup. The 320 GB designated drive must be in the main Bay of the Mac. Once Windows is installed, reconnect your 500 GB drive in the Optibay (if you this road main Bay) will be Windows blue screen in most cases.

Currently oldest Apple machines don't support not Windows 10 when it is installed via Boot Camp - using 10 Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple support I do a fresh install of Windows on my MBA 2011 environment which is not listed as being supported - obviously a lot I prefer not to buy and install Windows 8.1 (which is supported using 8.1 for Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple support) and then more later to buy (now MS free upgrade offer was withdrawn) and install Windows 10.

Apple will fix this situation ensuring that older machines are supported on Windows 10 and if so when?

  • El Capitan and Windows 10 Boot Camp Assistant

Hi, this is my first post so apologies if I've left out anything important. Let me know and I'll add the necessary details.

Fast, I have been using Windows for years and I wanted to get into Apple and finally last month made the leap. I have a brand new MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM El Capitan - 10.11.4 running. However, I am having a lot of problems with the creation and installation of 10 Windows using Boot Camp.

I had this work with Windows 10 times but made some fundamental mistakes. I resized the partition windows using a windows product so that I could add another partition. This seemed to work and I used it for a short time BUT when I tried to boot into El Capitan would not and that it would only boot Windows. After reading on what I see now that resize the windows from windows under Boot Camp partition is a no-no. lesson learned!

To actually do things once again, I removed the windows partitions using disk utility. (Again I see now that it is an another no-no that I'd
used Boot Camp Assistant to remove Windows!) Eventually however, I managed to get to El Capitan, working on the single partition, it is now again works fine and as far as I can tell without any problem.

After having to go that if I went back to load 10 Windows using Boot Camp. All works until the final start in the section windows it:

    • Creates the separate windows partition
    • Load the ISO file
    • The Windows Support Tools downloads
    • Runs the ISO file and everything looks good... see below: (apologies for the poor quality of the screenshots)

Then, during 'Finish Up', I get an error window:

"Windows has no prepare the computer to start the next phase of the installation." To install Windows restart installation. »

I tried many things such as to download the Windows ISO file again, running SNC and LANDAU after removing the Windows partition using Boot Camp Assistant and ensure that all other connections to the MBP is deleted except WiFi and get always the same message. As the whole process takes a few hours and tried to work through this for some days now, I would really appreciate some advice/help here for this issue very frustrating sorted.

    Thanks in advance

    Ian

OSX backup via TM boot in the recovery of the Internet, erase your entire internal drive, restore the TM backup, run SMC/NVRAM reset and try to re - install W10.

Your problem with remainders of W10 floating outside the Bootcamp partition, which cannot be properly cleaned when THE is used to delete a partition.

    Windows on Mac

Can I install Parallels after installation of Windows using Boot Camp?

You can install Parallels, but you will not be able to transfer your license existing if its already active in Boot Camp. You first need to remove the Boot Camp, then you can transfer it to Parallels. You may need to reactivate by phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Creating cloud apps on Windows (using Boot Camp on a Macbook) has stopped working

    So here's the situation:

I've been subscribing to creative cloud (CC) for a few years now and I have the 'apps' installed on Windows (using Boot Camp on my Macbook Pro). Why is it I am running Windows on a Mac? Because for various reasons I ;-)

A few months ago, I cancelled the subscription but decided to begin to subscribe again. That's when the problems started. Premiere Pro (which is the program I use most often) started to ask forlicensi ng/registration and registration from cc. whenever I started PP I to connect to CC with the result "Thank you for licensing/save...". "or something like that. The other day, I was in a meeting with a client to review changes in a project of PP and suddenly it does not help to to connect to CC. I am stuck in a loop where it says "thank you for the record...". "and then nothing happens. When I click on PP I sign again and so on...

I called Adobe support and when I told them I'm using Boot Camp on a Mac the first guy said ' it is not supposed to work on Boot Camp or virtual machines and if it works it is probably due to a bug in the software '.

I google a bit on this subject and can't find anything about supposed to CC to work with Boot Camp. When I was persistent and told them that they really help me because I'm in a hurry and that the customer is frustrated he actually hung. I called support again and this operator says 'We have no instructions on how to help users with problems in Boot Camp'.

I tried PP uninstall and reinstall, but still get stuck in the Sign-in-loop. Could this something in the registry that I need to change or remove?

I installed PP on my Mac OS without any problem. The thing is that I guess I can't open old projects created on the installation of Windows of PP.

Any help on this would be much apprechiated.

    / Thomas

Looks like the Support of Adobe has solved the problem. I called the third time and this operator is out of the box.

I had to delete some folders (PCB Adobe, Cache SL, SL Store), and then start any application as administrator (Windows) and log in.

    Sweet!

  • I only see a black screen with cursor flashing in Windows 10 Boot Camp

Why Boot Camp is so hard!

I just reinstall Boot Camp for the second time on my MacBook Pro mid-2012 after I came across this problem the first time. Everything goes through until the drivers install and I restart my Mac after updates, that to have the screen go black.

Why can I not just have a clean install * sigh *.

Anyway, I contacted both Apple and Microsoft technical support, but they could not solve my problem. I know that other people seem to have this problem, but I have not seen a coherent solution for it.

    Any suggestion would be great!

If the screen is black, try to disconnect your power adapter and check if the screen lets connect you. The default brightness may be too low. There are two distinct settings, battery and AC adapter.

If the problem is related to the drivers, remove the current installation and re-install W10. On the first screen where you select the Bootcamp partition, physically disconnect the network connections and do not connect until Windows is completely installed, you have created an account and bootcamp drivers are fully installed. Once you test, create a Windows system restore point and disable the GPU driver updates.

See also present on how to control the driver for the specific hardware updates.

  • End of 2011 MBP El Capitan Windows 7 Boot Camp without optical drive internal (LOSING MY MIND, Please HELP)

    • Original disc Windows 7 Pro from Microsoft as to
    • Downloaded ISO exact copy of Microsoft as well if need be
    • DVD player Samsung external optics
    • USB drive (s)

    What I don't have:

    • Optical drive internal and original; the Bay is empty.
    • Patience to use VM and WinClone and all that BS.

I was sure it was possible to install Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro 2011 delay, an external optical drive. I not even asking to use a USB key.

Why do I have all official records of Microsoft and a USB/DVD drive, but am forced to use an other intern, that is broken for like 90 percent of Mac owners.

I see a black screen with a cursor on startup or a black screen saying no boot device... After using Boot Camp Assistant. I tried to not use the wizard and make a Fat32 partition on my USB on and implemented to date, but this method failed as well for some reason any illogical.

Please help me or at least explain certain restrictions that I can never get about in what concerns my machine and Boot Camp.

    Thank you!

Can you extract the the Samsung SATA connector and connect to the SATA internal optical drive connector?

The EFI on your Mac version works partially with a USB Flash drive, but the file info.plist mounting is required. The VM/Winclone method also works.

  • Versions of access desktop via Boot Camp?

    Hello

My Training Institute offers students free access to MS Office, but only to the PC (Office 365 and downloadable Office 2013) version.

I'm a Mac user, so this seriously limited my access to the office, which is a large part of the training.

I guess I could use two PC versions (cloud and downloadable) starting at the top with Boot Camp.

All previews of the cheaper and less-memory-hogging of the ways to achieve this would be appreciated. (Access to the downloadable Office 2013 is wish Number One.)

    Thank you!

First use the CrossOver Mac test. If it doesn't work, get a copy of Windows and use Boot Camp or VirtualBox.
