8. do not open the Captivate files
I lost so many hours on this today so I really hope you guys can help me! I have two Captivate 8 and 9 installed on my Mac and they both worked perfectly well even not later than yesterday. Now when I try to open a Captivate 8 he finished the process of opening with the exception of the file is not on the screen. The file is open (as in, I can't open in Captivate 9 as it is already open) I'm not.
So here's what I know so far:
I have tried several different files in Captivate 8 and all had the same problem.
I tried the same files in Captivate 9 and they open smoothly.
It seems that if the file opens "off screen" which I know can be a problem with Mac s when you use two screens as I am. I tried every single problem I could find for it but none of them have worked.
When I open the Captivate 8 opening with recent docs screen shows fine. When I choose a file it has the file loading screen and I get even the message on some elements are not used, but after that there is nothing.
I tried upgrading my operating system is all that far.
I reinstalled 8 Captivate.
I also lost my will to live.
Please help me! Anyone had this before? How did you solve this problem?
(I need 8 and 9 that I have clients who are still on 8 and some that are on 9)
Hi Lilybiri, I have just finally he fixed after 8-10 hours to try everything! You were certainly on the right track with the issue of preferences. Cordially if someone else asks, I went to ~/Library/Preferences and deleted both the plist for captivate file and a folder called Captivate 8
I had deleted the file yesterday but not the folder so it had not worked.
Such a relief to work again! Thanks for your help.

When I try to install Firefox, I get an error "could not open the output file. I used Firefox before and it doesn't work anymore, so I uninstalled. Cannot re - install now.

When you click on the download link on GetFirefox.com, you should be asked if you want to run or save the file. If this situation occurs when you try to run the download, try instead to record and put the file on your desktop or in a similar place, where you are certain that you can find.
When the download is complete, try double-clicking on the downloaded file in the normal Windows Explorer (browse your way to the file from the desktop). This should start the installation.
If, in the Explorer window, you notice that the file seems to be missing the Firefox icon orange/blue, right click the file and select Properties. The image should look like the attached picture (except that mine is in Danish, but that is irrelevant) if saved correctly - if it don't look like this, would you please describe the content or attach a screenshot of the box. Especially what it says under "File Type" - it must be 'program '. If this isn't the case, will have to focus on what could be the problem here.
A bit off-topic, your Internet Explorer seems to be quite a bit outdated (IE 6, where the current version is IE 8), so I highly recommend that you try to run Windows Update to get your system up to date. Is it as a society (such as a thin client Terminal Server computer) system, this is not possible, and most likely, your system administrator will have to help you.

Do not open the JPEG files recovered...
I have quick formatted my E drive. Then I restored data with software. But do not open the JPEG files recovered.
The size of the file is the same. But when I try to open the error "invalid image". I tried almost all viewers but the problem is the same.
How can I open these JPEG files...?
Help, please...
Thank you
You can try the JPEG recovery tool, it might be useful. This is normally due to the change in the location of the file once you retrieve the data.

By double clicking on a file in Windows Explorer it only starts the program it does not open the actual file. 1 program, all the others still work ok.
This option is used to work, I installed a viewer of this program option (it's a based CAD program) and after that I uninstalled the viewer that he would not even start the program, he was trying to launch the viewr. I noticed that the file association was still for the Viewer so I changed it back, but he now throws only program. Under right click, properties, file Type: it is said the extension only where it used to say the name of the program.
Thank you
Sam

Elements 9 does not open the raw files from my new camera
Have a panasonic DMC-GX85. My 9 items does not open the raw file and I failed in upgrading to 9.03 and camera raw 6.5. Y at - it solution or do I have the latest elements?
There are essentially 4 different solutions to this common problem with the older PES software:
(1) upgrade to the latest version 14; It's not free.
(2) the software should come with your camera and download pictures on your computer;
(3) your operating system may have some updates to download images from your camera.
(4) use Adobe DNG converter and it is still free. The latest version is:
Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Windows >
He must also watch this video to learn how to use the DNG Converter:
I hope this helps.

I have 12 items. I just downloaded the most recent update. It will not open the RAW files from my Panasonic TZ70?
See the faq for the compatibility of ACR:
FAQ: Photoshop Elements will work with my camera, or why does not open my raw files?
Your camera would need ACR version 9 which is not supported by 12 elements.
You can:
-upgrade to 13 items, with updates of version 13.1.1
- or use the free DNGconverter mentionned in the links at the bottom of this faq. You'll be able set of entire folders to convert your raw files to DNG PSE12 can read and modify.

Windows Photo Gallery does not open the zipped files
Photo Gallery Windows does not open the photos that are in the zipped files received by Email. He said: Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video. This file format is not supported, or you do not have the latest updates to the photo gallery.
This is expected behavior...
Unzip the file and open the uncompressed version. Or just open
the zip files and do drag the photos on the zip file and
drop in a new folder.then you can open. -

Photo Gallery will not open the zip file
Hi all
Someone sent me an email with 5 photos inside zip file. I downloaded the attachment and open the file with photo gallery. I watched all 5 images successfully. When I tried to turn one of the pictures I noticed the button to rotate the image was gray. I also noticed that the Photo Gallery menu everything is gray. I closed the library and tried the process again. Now all I get is the error response "Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video. The file format is not supported, or you do not have the latest updates. "I tried to download it from the email once again, but just keep getting the same error response. I can't open the zip file AT ALL and have no idea what to do. I also tried Picasa to open the file, but here, the answer is "invalid image". I'm sorry to say that I'm a novice on the actual technical stuff so go easy on me please :) Thanks in advance for any help.
Yes, I double click on the file and looked at the pictures. Now, if I double click on I just get the error message.
=====================================
Double click on a zip file it will open but do not unzip. Two things to try:
(1) slide the photos out of the file compressed in a new folder.
(2) make a right-click the folder zipped and in the menu... Choose... Extract all.

Win Windows 7 photo viewer will not open the .psf files
Windows Photo Viewer does not open. PSF files from Epson?
Programs can recognize only the files they are supposed to use.
In the case of the Windows Photo Viewer, the official documentation says that it can display the following types of files (although you can add a little more by installing one or more codecs- LINK):
Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG)
.jpg and .jpeg,
Tagged Image File Format (TIFF)
. TIF and .tiff
Portable Network Graphics (PNG)
.PNG
Graphics Interchange Format (GIF)
.gif
Bitmap image
.bmp and DIBs
HD Photo
. WDP
Do you really mean PSF files? As far as I can tell, a PSF file is probably an Adobe Photoshop proof Settings file.
If you mean PDF files - which are outputs to any scanner - you can view these last with the free Adobe Reader or Foxit Readerfree software, among others.

DNG Converter do not open the CR2 files
I got 13 of PSE, but the 80 d must camera raw Canon camera which is too high for PSE 13. So I downloaded the latest DNG coverter. However, when I open is not 'see' the CR files that I put on the desk of the 80 d camera. Am I missing something please?
The most common error when you use the dng converter tries to open the folder that contains the files of camera instead of simply select the folder you want.
