8 Windows refresh problem
I've had problems of connection with startup for a while now, and a friend told me to update my computer. I have Windows 8.1 and uses a graphics card of x 270 r9 amd Radeon with a dual display. After finish my update which took several attempts, I noticed that I now have Windows 8 build 9200. I am unable to connect to the Internet to use the store Windows to reinstall Windows "did not detect a network card installed properly." Also my pic does not detect my second monitor. Help, please!
Hello
First of all, don't bother with the store... You can download an ISO DVD and\burn or create a Flash Drive... If your machine uses UEFI Bios, you might be better off with a Flash Drive... OR download the ISO and create the DVD or Flash later...
The problem is that everything preinstalled stuff you may be lost... and maybe one of your personal folders...
If you are running Win 8.1 Windows Media, it will be an upgrade and may be able to provide enough pilots to connect...
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media
What is the model number or a part of your machine... I'll see if I can have the best chance to find the wireless drivers...

If the recovery discs can be ordered in the United States where to order? (I have an address to the United States for delivery if necessary).Hello
As far as I know here in Europe, you will not be able to recovery media order for the laptop models to the United States. If you have a person in the United States, they must contact the nearest authorized service provider and order it for you. Later they send it to you.

When you try to upgrade to windows 10 I received the error message 0 x 80080005 - 0 x 90016 after watching in Microsoft support forum, I found that the problem was related to windows 7 is not not to date. I checked and found that my computer has stopped udating a couple of years. I tried to run Fixit MS that has not worked. Tried to reboot (BITS) and got ERROR 126 (module not found) I then followed the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2700567 on how to reset the Windows Update components. During the process, I have the following errors:

I guess my question is what I have to do a restore of the system under windows 7, before I can upgrade to windows 10? Or y at - it another way?
Hello glockrow ;
Let me welcome you on the HP forums!
I read your post about windows update problems and wanted to help.
I would that be able to say that updating to Win10 was an exact science where we know exactly how he does it, and what it should - but the flooding of this and other instances of Win10 problem after that problem indicates that, at best, we are all guessing. So, I think, from what I've read and done on my PC, is that you SHOULD be able to avoid the problem of missing updates by updating using Win10 created using this MS link media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool
After you create the DVD or USB, NOT boot from it. Instead, insert it into your PC and, if it does not auto-start, right click on the file setup.exe and run it.
HOWEVER - and this is important - PC Win7 have a rate low success updated Win10 without problem - primariluy lack of OEM Win10 drivers. Typical problems include display artifacts (to cause to be obliged to use the driver for the card of Microsoft Basic), not wireless and touchpad problems. The drivers Microsoft provides have only the most basic features, with none of the extras that the HP drivers bring to the stage.
It is further complicated by the function Win10 GoBack, whereby you can return to your original operating system, being known to be unreliable. So when your upgrade machine malfunctioning, only then you discover that you cannot return the machine to work, that you had originally!
You can protect yourself against ending up with a damaged machine - seriously considering using a free third-party product that works for airport Imaging/restoration - Macrium Reflect.
Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.
What I recommend is the following:
(1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
(2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
(3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key
NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.
So now you can recharge before with the upgrade, knowing that whatever happens, you will be able to return to your currently works in a few minutes.
Good luckI'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

Active window color problem - cannot change the background color
original title: Active window color problem
By right-clicking: Desktop, then click on: personalization / window color and appearance / settings (Advanced) appearance, Windows user can assign a background color of the active window in any application. This is useful for those of us who don't want a stark white screen; We can assign a mild pastel tint which may be easier on the eyes for long term sessions.
At some recent point, I lost the background color of the active window within Windows uses 'household. I still not my background color assigned in any application I run (Word, Mail, etc.), but using Windows Explorer to navigate through my hard drive, the active window is now always the default stark white Windows. How this change and can it be forced to adhere to the assigned active window background color?

First of all
KB3138612 would be the last for a manual installation
The first would actually KB3145739
Homepage for all versions,
https://TechNet.Microsoft.com/library/security/MS16-039
After that you manually install you KB3153199
I would also like to before doing this,
Be sure and go to uninstall a program and see which Microsoft Net framework you have installed.
4.5.2 is more consistent to have installed,

After the last updates of windows have problems with start up and now drivers
Hello
After the last updates of windows have problems with start up and now drivers. I get an error code 21 when I try to install the drivers AMD apparently missing.
May 14, last night I had several (automatically) downloaded windows update
Today, I was unable to boot my computer with Windows - tried the disk check, start checks etc, and eventually had to use System Restore (for help before the critical update to restore).
Perfection, everything works, but knowing that windows will attempt to redo an automatic update, tried to check online - no one seemed to have a problem and (naivly) thinking I could always do another restore of the system, I rebooted again.
Same thing worse. Could not do a sys restore either just before restarting or last night. Chose a date earlier (last week) but then lost the USB drivers and pilots display. Downloaded updated but refuses to let my AMD driver install Windows I have a very unpleasant screen... and I must now stop the installation of this update "critical."
Would appreciate advice how do my installed display driver or whether anyone else has problems following this update
Thank you

To the PSE11 windows 8 category PSE6/windows vista: problem catalog conversion
Hello. I saved my PSE6 on external hard drive (I optimized/repaired before saving) and then installed PSE11 on the new 8 pc windows - no problem. Followed all the advice, I have seen/read to convert saved PSE6 catalog but doesn't seem to find (I tried custom location / browse and go to the folder where the backup is saved, but it just says: "no file matching your search").
I then tried to install PSE6 on new computer restored catalogue him, then looked for the catalogue still in PSE11. It seemed now to find and convert, but some files where missing and a lot of keywords/tags as missing.
I tried to uninstall the lot (including the removal of the files in the files they were saved in the new computer) and after looking at the Forum, tried to backup old PSE6 on old pc again, but this time the first saved metadata on files and then sustained upward (took HOURS!) Reinstalled PSE11 on the new computer and tried - back to the first problem - does not "see" the backup, even if I know it's there (there is a .tly file, etc.).
I don't really want two versions of the PSE on the new PC and I REALLY don't want to have to start from scratch all 5000 marking files! I hope someone can help and tell me what I'm missing. I certainly not a seasoned PSE user, mainly due to lack of time and started with PSE6 knowing nothing at all. Am hoping to have more time to use PSE as I will work from home, but I just spent the major part of 2 days trying to figure this...
Yes, of course. Please check that you check the box corresponding to the maintenance of the folder hierarchy.
Thank you

Windows refresh caused some problems
Recently for some reason any my Windows 8 did not work properly. In fact, I had tried to install a game GTA4 and it was not properly, installing as I uninstall it this problem started... Victory beginning would show the logo winner 8 and then the screen would go black forever. I went to repair (with the DVD of Win8) mode, but the system could not recover old date of recovery. That's why I went for the 'Refresh' system that was not as easy and I got this message twice that system could not be updated. Finally I could update the system.
Now, I've seen two questions:
(1) drive C has a folder called "Old Windows" which I deleted.
(2) whenever I'm starting I get an option to choose an operating system when the OS are Win 8 and are both on Volume 2.
I have attached a screenshot.
If I click on one of the highest the Win 8 operating system load. If I do not choose... the countdown ends and charge of Win8.
If I click on "change default settings or choose the other option... I get what you see in the screenshot below.
In addition, I check my C drive and I only have a single instance of Windows installed.
How can I remove this to load Windows 8 normally.
Hello
As far the Windows.old folder is concerned, you can remove it by using the rest of way:http://www.kapilarya.com/how-to-delete-Windows-old-folder-in-Windows-8-using-elevated-command-promptPress the Windows key + R, type in msconfig and press ENTER. Switch to the Startup tab in the System Configuration utility window then, delete an entry that is not desired. Click apply then OK. Fact!Hope this helps, good luck :) -
Firefox problems after refresh problems
I did the "Refresh" asked Firefox, but now have multiple problems.
(1) under Google to Yahoo search engine. It is a royal pain that Firefox provides no easy solution. Should be the basic option.
(2) lost my homepage - fixed
(3) when I reduce Firefox, he died. Must he reboot every time.
(4) pins tabs are not remembered in the sessions
(5) does not appear as active in the Windows taskbarEXTREMELY frustrated by this "update of the performance.
Hi SDJ1, to change your default search engine, click on the magnifying glass to the left of the search bar, then "Edit Search Settings" at the bottom of the Panel that goes down. More information: use of the search bar in Firefox.
These symptoms are intriguing for me:
(3) when I reduce Firefox, he died. Must he reboot every time.
(4) pins tabs are not remembered in the sessions
(5) does not appear as active in the Windows taskbarOn #3: Remember to always disable Firefox to use hardware acceleration? After the update, it is reactivated by default.
You can check the updates of your Intel graphics drivers by following the steps in this article: update your drivers graphics to use hardware acceleration and WebGL.
However, if this does not help, I would try to disable hardware acceleration here:
"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced
In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.
This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again. Any difference?
On #4: We remind the tabs pinned as part of your tabs and windows open. Is anything get restored? I assume you are using history > restore previous Session if you not automatically restore your previous session. (Restore previous session - configure when Firefox shows your most recent tabs, windows and)
If you have pinned back before tabs without having to restore your session, which could have been manipulated by an add-on.
On #5: I can't think what would cause that, unless the problem is that, after the closure of the last window, Firefox hangs and continues to run instead of closing completely. In this case, you get a message from Firefox that it cannot start because it is still ongoing, but there is no tiling/button/tab on the taskbar.
