8 Windows update, error 8007007E on ASUS laptop

Hello, I have a laptop ASUS bought some years ago - OS is Windows 8.  My system shows windows update is set to update automatically, but for some reason any shows that 'never' and I tried to click on update.  The error message appears in the error 8007007E

What is the best way to search for the missing or corrupt file and for the correction of a mistake?  If it needs to be updated to 8.1, I worry that I can run into the same error.

Please advise, help and thank you!

Pépin,

Error: 8007007E, occurs if the operating system files are missing.

    Hello
I have a laptop of old P750 for 2 months, after they need to do a restore to a disk upward, I now get the above error.
I then decided to do a cover of toshiba with a clean install and still get the same result of windows update is not not able to connect to the server.

I tried everything I can find this error, including the verification of the proxy settings for WU, reset the proxy via CMD prompt settings.

I noticed something interesting while control validation using microsoft MGA diagnostic tool, where windows has been listed as a hat, but note some reports as:

    Validation code: 0
    LegitCheckControl: N/a, hr = 0 x 80070002
    signed: n/a, hr = 0 x 80070002

My understanding is the way to 0 x 80070002 he couldn't connect identical to WU or that files are missing.

I have rebuilt that recommended such c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution records, turned off all firewall, removed antivirus / software malware but still no luck.

It seems funny how the same thing happens even after a clean drive toshiba recovery.

    Any suggestions?

  • Windows Update error code

I have a new Toshiba laptop, running Windows 7 (Home Premium SP1 installed by the OEM). My internet connection works fine for all sites Web except it fails when I try Windows Update. Error message code is 8024402F. I already checked 'automatically detect DNS settings' I also tried disabling my firewall (McAfee) temporarily and tried without solution. I tried dozens of times in recent days.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Hello

According to the Microsoft Knowledge Base, it has something to do with your Internet connection. Have you already checked the Microsoft Knowledge Base?

Microsoft recommends disabling the security software (antivirus and firewall) and try the troubleshooting Windows Update tool as described here:

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 on my desktop and laptop.  The desktop or laptops are part of my home network.  I have the HP Officejet 4635e installed as part of the home network and I have installed the HP software on two systems.  The printer works properly.  I am able to print, scan and HP 4635 passed the fax test.  However when I run Windows Update I get the following error message:

He had problems installing the updates, but we will try again later. If you keep to see this and you want to perform an Internet search or contact support for further information, this can help:

    • HP - Printer Enterprise WSD multifunction, other materials - Null Fax - HP Officejet 4630 series - error 0 x 80070490

All the other updates install successfully.  This problem occurs when I run Windows Update on the desktop and laptop.  Can you provide any help on how to solve this problem?

It has what is called a "phantom update".  I get the same error when I run the update in Windows 10.  Unfortunately there is no way in Windows 10 to hide an update as in previous versions.  Then simply ignore these updates failed and continue on our merry way.  Ghost updates occur through Microsoft when our software is up to date and they are not aware.  Maybe Microsoft will correct Windows 10 to hide updates later.

  • Windows Update - error Code 80072F8F

Ok. So I am very anxious about my problem and after reading a lot of posts and various Microsoft support pages I have to insist that you are trying to copy and paste a generic useless solution that you throw all beginners. If you can't help, just don't post.

In any case, my last Windows successful update was August 3. The update was "Security Update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB2286198) ', and he succeeded. Since then, no main Windows settings have been changed and no software was installed. However, without apparent reason, I get the above error code (see the title of the topic) whenever I try to run Windows Update. My first instinct was to run a Google search on the error code. It produces the following two pages:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-error-80072F8F

    http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/system_maintenance_for_windows

I tried all the solutions offered by these pages, and nothing worked. My clock is well-ordered, and in sync with time.windows.com. I ran Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services. No dice. So I looked around on your beautiful forums here and found the following topic:

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistawu/thread/10acefdc-297F-4D14-9f5c-5a90250a8b8c

I tried to correct the problem by trying EVERY SOLUTION UNIQUE attributed to the user who created this topic, including resettlement certificates root to update and re-registering components (Softpub.dll, etc.) as suggested. I temporarily disabled my third-party security software (ESET Smart Security 4 and Yes, that my subscription is current and all my third-party software are up to date). Windows Update is the only feature which seems to be faulty on my machine. My internet connection is fine, loads pages without penalty in Firefox and Internet Explorer. I've rebooted more times than I can count.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Given that you're OS software costs as much, if not more than a cheap computer in itself and I consider a problem I can't solve (because the way I am a student a graduate of computer science in the former USSR) all unacceptable. The fact that, not being not able to update the OS effectively paralyzes my laptop thousand dollars, I am naturally very irritated. Stay in place beyond 04:00 trying to solve an operating system bug is not valuable my time use, and so all productivity more is lost I can simply opt to migrate from Windows altogether. Let me know if you need more information about the configuration of my. I hope you can help, because I enjoy not having to do a full reformat.

Your answers indicate that you can see the effects of a hijackare infection. That being said...

I replaced the hard drive on my HP laptop and used the recovery disks to restore my computer to factory setting.  I also uninstalled Norton Anti Virus, download Mozilla Firefox and downloaded Avast Antivirus.  I tried to update, but got 2 two errors - Windows Defender error 0xc80000222 (the program cannot check the definition updates) and Windows Update error 800800005 (Windows could not search for new updates.).  I even tried to install Microsoft Fix to perform diagnostics, but it does not have (we're sorry, but Windows PowerShell could not run).  My system sign says that Windows is activated.  In the end, I want to use my upgrade for windows disk 8.  I used these discs before recovery without any problem.  Thank you.

    Hi Keshwala,

We need a few details to help you install Service pack 1, please answer the following.

    1. What antivirus application do you use on your computer?
    2. Was no problem with the installation of other updates to Windows?
    3. You have the Windows Vista installation disc?

You can refer to the following methods, these could help you install Service pack 1 on your computer.

    Method 1:

If you receive the error Windows Update 80070002 of updates, you must remove the temporary files to update that Windows uses to identify updates for your computer. see the methods in the following link.

    Windows Update Error 80070002.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-Error-80070002

    Method 2:

Disable the antivirus software, install the service pack and check the issue stattus.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    You can also refer to:

You receive an error '0 x 80070002' or '0 x 80070003' code after you download an update from Windows Update, Microsoft Update or Windows Server Update Services

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows Update error 800b 00001

First of all, this problem started with drivers for my ipad and my iphone. Although the laptop could charge two devices, Windows would not allow me recover photos in one or the other. Then my Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet stopped working and the light on it constantly flashed. In devices and printers, each had the yellow triangle with exclamation point. I tried troubleshooting all three devices without result. All driver downloads failed.

I thought that maybe it had to do with Windows Update so I tried to update Windows, all of the Windows Update has failed. I tried the system update tool, since I got the error 800b 00001 with update failures. That still did nothing.

I don't know what to do. I have Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit operating system.

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

I can't install the updates of Windows. Let me ask you,

    1. You did it no particular change in the computer before this problem?
    2. What happens when you try to retrieve photos of i - Pad and I-Phone?
    3. You get an error?
    4. What is the number of the KB article for the update that fails to install?

First of all, for problems with the Wacom Bamboo Fun, I'll ask to contact Wacom support.

The Windows Update progress bar is not updated during the scan, and progress seems to stop at 60% complete. This behavior is expected. The scan is still running and you should not cancel the update.

    Original title: Windows update error 0xC1900101 8.1 0 x 30018... it's annoying please help.

I know there are already a lot of posts on this subject and I have read some good but I still can't upgrade my desktop computer. Finding this very irritating that the update is now available for about 10 months and is still problematic, however I'm still hopeful. Now, my office is a house system, which I assume is part of the problem, but I'm going to go.

My machine specifications are as follows:

    Motherboard ASUS sabertooth x 79
CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT Intel Core i7 - 3820

    RAM

    Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (2x4gb) (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8)
GFX card ASUS GTX650 TI boost 2 GB
    SSD Samsung 840PRO series 256GB
HARD DRIVE Western Digital Black 1 TB
    POWER SUPPLY EVGA Supernova NEX750G
    Hard drive ASUS BW-12B1ST
    Keyboard Logitech G510
    Mouse Logitech G500

Now, some posts I read that I met a lot of different answers. some variant of not enough power available from the power supply, others say it is probably just an accessory you attached. My last attempt to update, I uninstalled everything that wasn't on the list of compatible Windows 8.1 Upgrade Assistant of the report, and I mean everything that was not listed as well as things that were listed as being incompatible. Of course, I got to the stage where it became ready devices and failed at about 50% or more. The time at which its failed summer seems to be different, I remember some time ago an attempt he got to 90% and then failed. This is the final part of the latest update, maybe someone can help give a sense.

There could be several reasons for the 0xC1900101 - 30018 0 x error message. I suggest you try the steps suggested by Levon Levonian dated 17 October 2013 at the following link and see if that helps.

  • Windows update error 8024200d code

During the last two weeks my laptop has been not to install the updates that was sent by Microsoft. The error code is 8024200d. Whenever I run the troubleshooter, it corrects two errors that are different from those that I have. The problems identified by the help desk are:

1-potential Windows update database error detected 0x800F081F
2 - Windows Update components need to be repaired.
Whenever I run the troubleshooter the result told that problems are detected and fixed, but the next time that I reboot, its still there.
Please help me solve the error 8024200d because I think that's what creates this problem. Any help will be much appreciated guys.
    Thank you very much

These two errors are the response standard stock when someone is running the troubleshooter.  It may have fixed something or it may not, there is one way to really know, isn't there?
