• Issue of license of workstation trading at SSD drive

  I am a newbie to VM workstation and enjoy my development on my laptop Lenovo laboratories.

  Having recently added a second SSD I now want to move it's the startup disk on my laptop computer host.

  If I do a complete reinstallation doesn't this invalidate the license with VMWARE?

  If not, is there a better way I can instant somehow my current laptop build and then reinstall it on the new drive or is it simply impossible.

  BTW my current drive is 330GB with a recovery partition, whereas the new SSD 128 GB.

  I'm sure it is possible to move the existing install on it, but it would be just as easy to re-run the installer of the OS. Personally, I prefer to rebuild in these scenarios.

  I just bought the HP mobile workstation elite is a fast computer, but is limited in storage, it has only a 250 HARD drive, im, consider using a second HDD but since I don't want hangs in two new drives hard im planning to use the 250 as storage and buy a 500 hybrid HARD drive as drive main HARD (for the operating system) , I know that the hybrid is normally faster than the normal HARD drive, but since I whant to increase performance of the laptop that I would like to know what better configuration.

  -Primary hybrids, normal as storage device.

  -Normal as primary hybrid, as storage device.

  -Two hybrids (one of the options above preferred since I just want to buy 1, but I'm open to buy two if the options above won´t help)

  What I put, t want to do is buy a single HARD drive and for a neck bucase bottel of the difference between the drives.

  I'll use the primariy for laptop design Solid works and games.

  Always run the operating system of the fastest device. Disks hard hybrids are only slightly faster than the readers of meachanical despite claims from marketing to the contrary, but choices you give I'd go hybrid as primary and normal as a storage device. If the budget allows, download a player in real solid state without mechanical transmission components.

• Valuation of an SSD with workstation

  Hi - I have a race to a workstation on a SSD and decent hard drive and I wanted to see if someone could recommend to improve performance?  Start my computer laptop regular host, the SSD is excellent and startup speeds are much better than on the hard drive.  With a Windows 2008 R2 server hard disk comments, it takes 240 seconds to restart the operating system invited and on the SSD about 210, so a 12.5 percent improvement.  So an improvement, but can do better?  The CPU is a grunty I7 haswell, the base OS is windows 7 and I have 16G memory.

  Any thoughts appreciated as improving on the SSD on the host start is so marked, I wonder if we can do more for the guests

  From my own experience it should run a lot faster. Please check that the guest operating system is not the virtual disk, or CD-ROM connected ("connect to power on" unchecked). If this does not help, take a look at vmware.log of the virtual machine to see if that gives you a few tips. Another only looking at this from the point of view of VMware, check the configuration of comments for example services that may have problems starting or the stale drive mappings.

  Trying to create an image of a HP8760s (Win 7 Enterprise loaded) using the Symantec Ghost program. Still imaging process leaves at 99% and displays the following error: cannot allocate page table memory. If someone has experienced this problem and if so how do solve you this problem? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  BTW... I did google the error and you tried to use a CD bootable Ghost... etc... parameters of the evolution of the situation... etc... no luck.

  Hi all, found a solution:

  I figured out that the lenovo use AHCI and pcdos does not recognize ahci. I disabled the ahci in the BIOS under the parameters of the hard disk and set the boot sequence to boot for the IDE (not AHCI drives) drives and it worked.

  In my case, the material was a HP 8760w workstation elite... change above suggested by 'Dollar Bennett' worked for her and the system can now be ghost.

  I want to spend the hard drive in my 8000 Elite.  It seems that all are 6 GB/s (SATA 3) these days.  Seagate said I'm looking at that will work if my computer is not 6 G/s if the controller supports the SATA speed autonegotiation.

  I'm running a Sandisk 240 GB SATA III (6.0 GB/S) SSD in my 8000 Elite CMT and it works fine.

  I used to have a 1 TB SATA III hard disk in it.  It worked very well also.

  It will only work in the SATA II (3.0 GB/S) of speed, because it is so fast that the Intel 4 series chipset will run to.

  The first 8xxx Elite business desktop PC that could run at a hard drive SATA III 6.0 GB/S pace, is the Elite 8200 series with the Intel 6 Series chipsets.

  Do not exceed a HDD 2 TB in your PC if you intend to use it as a boot drive.  The BIOS does not support the readers from over 2 TB to be used as boot disks.

  I'm trying to update an old workstation HP Elite 8000 LTS to W8.1 but can't find the right drivers for the PCI Serial Port and USB devices. Driver HP downloads page shows nothing for W8 x 64 when I put in the serial number and search for drivers. Apparently, Windows 7 is as far as I can take this machine?

  Naively, I thought that Windows can handle these aircraft out of the box, given his age.

  Can someone confirm if I'm able to run W8.1 on this material and if yes where I could find appriate drivers for it?

  From what I can make of this hardware ID, it is part of the USB2 controller system.

  Something really got blocked upward with the USB/USB2 chipset driver part.

  Hello:

  There is no need to update the BIOS to install an SSD.  I have one in my 8000 Elite CMT and it works very well and certainly faster than the standard mechanical hard drive.

  However, you should know that the inverter can operate only one SATA III hard drive to the SATA II speed.  The first HP desktop PC in this class who could run SATA III drives high-speed SATA III is the 8200 Elite.

  Because you run Windows 10, your only option would be to Flash the BIOS with one of the methods based BACK.

  Do not use the Windows flash-based.

  You can easily Flash the BIOS by downloading and running the latest file to update the BIOS of your PC.  You can select the Windows 7 file in the support page.

  An instruction page will open and give you the different ways you can Flash the BIOS.

  I always choose that is the BIOS F10 flash method.

  Everything you need for that is a USB flash drive formatted with the FAT 32 file system and follow the instructions on the page that opens.

  ATTENTION - hopefully you do not turn off the PC by unplugging the power cord. That could cause all sorts of problems.  The preferred method to turn off the PC is to use the operating system to turn it off.  On Windows, there is a choice to turn it off after you have clicked on the "Start" icon in the lower left corner.  Depending on the version of windows, the startup icon may look like a flag or a globe.

  The green light to the rear stays on for only a short period if the power cord is unplugged. The Green led should stay on when the PC is still plugged in but turned off.

  You can't get the audio of the view port in the dc7900 and 8000 Elite models.

  The only suggestion I can offer is to try a green audio adaptor cable clear output to PC jack, if your PC has the RCA Red and white stereo, made entry.

  You will not be able to upgrade this power supply, model # 508154-001. It is not possible with these connectors. The most absurd part is that the material (disks) are actually powered off the coast of the motherboard. (As you said).
