HP Compaq 8000 Elite power supply upgarde

I have a HP Compaq 8000 Elite 2010 and you must update the power to launch my new Radeon HD 6850 graphics card. After much research I found that this particular computer motherboard does not have a normal diet of 20 or 24 pins but use instead of 2 separate connections from 4 pins for power supply PWR and PWRCPU and a third cable that seems to me to be an ancient and obsolete 6-pin auxiliary power (http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#aux) for the PWRCMD supply Cable. I also found that all power is carried out through the motherboard for each piece of hardware in the computer and therefor, most likely has a limit for the maximum possible power supply. Y at - it sort of a power supply that will fit both into the slot in the power supply (which is not the standard size of power supply, but rather measures approximately 6 "x 5.75" x 3.75") and will also be able to connect to and sufficient power to the motherboard? Or am I stuck with an ugly 320W? Help, please!

Maverickv2,

You will not be able to upgrade this power supply, model # 508154-001. It is not possible with these connectors. The most absurd part is that the material (disks) are actually powered off the coast of the motherboard. (As you said).

I have a desktop PC HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF that I use as a home theater PC.  I'm under Windows Media Center with 2 cards tuner and antennae of the OTA.

With this configuration, I use a HP Remote WMC.  The model No. inside the cover of the remote control battery is TSGH-IR01.  The issue I'm having with the remote control that is stationary and move forward and "back" button do nothing when you press.  The light at the top of the remote control flashes when you press those buttons, so I don't think that the buttons themselves infrared are failing.  All the other buttons on the remote work fine.

I wonder if it is a problem of programming/software and if so, what should I do to solve this problem.   It's annoying to not be able to stop a recorded program is playing when you press the stop button, but having to use a mouse to do it instead.   Any help that can be given will be very appreciated!

For anyone having this problem, I discovered the cause after reading a post on the forums of thegreenbutton.tv.  An application in Chrome or any browser Chrome (in my case, the Slimjet browser) is the culprit.

For me, it was the Plex app.  He was diverting the judgment and move forward and back buttons on my remote HP WMC.  As soon as I disabled the application of Plex, the buttons started working.   Never would have guessed that this was the problem!  Hope this helps someone else who might have the same problem.  Ah, tech.  Isn't beautiful?

  • HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF - virtualization

There are chances that this PC may run on Windows 8 Enterprise Hyper-V VM?

I would like to have virtualization on this PC so that I can install different operating systems for the development of trial software.

I know that the CPU is capable of virtualization, but when I try to install the Hyper-V feature, I get an error that the BIOS is not capable of Hyper-V.

Will there be an update of the BIOS for this PC to allow me to run Hyper-V? If there is, where can I download it from?

    TIA

    Product # LN071PC #ABG

Unfortunate, the BIOS has no options to turn on virtualization technology.

You might consider, if you accept the risk, to take a look at the BIOS change sites.

Search to see if this has been the topic of discussion on the internet by doing an online search in Google or Bing with "HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF virtualization" as keywords.

  • Compaq DC7700 CMT: Power supply Assembly for dc7700 cmt

I got a HP Compaq DC7700 CMT (convertible minitower) and want to install my XFX XT power supply in it series.

It seems that the holes for the screws may be different. No power supply is available for the side by side comparison.

    If anyone can check that?

and, is it possible to install a "standard atx" PSU in this dc7700.

If Yes, what should be done.

The XFX PSU adapts physically, and it seems that the connectors on the motherboard are all compatible.

My only concern right now is if the new XFX PSU moved to the back of the tower.

I count on the installation of a hard disk with Windows7 on it, two spare HARD drive as the network maps and graphs updated

Your correct, the PSU do not line up.

What has been done in the past, it is what is in the photo. You just made an adapter plate.

Be aware that only the Legacy graphics cards will work.

  • PC HP Compaq 8000 Elite: Hard drive of PC HP Compaq 8000 Elite

I want to spend the hard drive in my 8000 Elite.  It seems that all are 6 GB/s (SATA 3) these days.  Seagate said I'm looking at that will work if my computer is not 6 G/s if the controller supports the SATA speed autonegotiation.

question 1: what is the speed of the controller, I spent the last two hours looking unsuccessfully.

2nd question: is this the controllers SATA speed autonegotiation support?

    Thank you!

    Vince.

    Hello:

I'm running a Sandisk 240 GB SATA III (6.0 GB/S) SSD in my 8000 Elite CMT and it works fine.

I used to have a 1 TB SATA III hard disk in it.  It worked very well also.

It will only work in the SATA II (3.0 GB/S) of speed, because it is so fast that the Intel 4 series chipset will run to.

The first 8xxx Elite business desktop PC that could run at a hard drive SATA III 6.0 GB/S pace, is the Elite 8200 series with the Intel 6 Series chipsets.

Do not exceed a HDD 2 TB in your PC if you intend to use it as a boot drive.  The BIOS does not support the readers from over 2 TB to be used as boot disks.

Recently, I noticed that there is no CPU fan, or even support for a cpu fan.

I watch other such online and noticed the same thing.

This CPU is no need of a cooler?

    Hello:

If you have the model of the SFF, the CPU is cooled by the chassis fan.

Air of the fan through the heat sink and provides cooling for the processor.

I don't remember if the fan blows air into the radiator or it away (it exhausts) taps into the heat sink.

Just hold your hand close to the exit of the fan to feel which way the breath air.

There should be a plastic fairing (fan baffle) on the fan and the heat sink.

You can see the list of parts below...

    You are the very welcome.

    You need not purchase contracts.

It's to put server to update firmware only.

I don't know why this driver was not installed.

However, this would have been the last being for your model.

If you want to take a little more money on the PC, I would just buy a cheap video card and that should take care of your dilemma.

I have an 8000 Elite CMT as well running W7 Pro x 64.

I installed a graphics card, and it works fine for me.

If you want to go this route, let me know and I'll give you a link to a good cheap video card that should work perfectly for your PC.

  • Memory upgrade - HP Compaq 8000 Elite minitour convertible

I am looking to buy 8 G memory.  I would like to find a memory compatible list.

This version of the 8000 Elite CMT has an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3 .00GHz CPU.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I have 2 of these computers each with 4 GB of ram.  I intend to put everything in a single computer for a total of 8 G and buy 8 G for the other.  What research I've done, it seems that I can buy 240 pins, non - ECC unbuffered 1066, 1333 or 1600 memory speed.  I am aware of the memory would go to the reduction of the speed of 533 x 2 = 1066 speed.  I'm hoping to buy memory from a vendor discount.

  • SR5610F Compaq Presario Desktop - Power Supply Upgrade

Currently, I have a stock SR5610F Desktop and I installed a new graphics card without realizing the low power supply. I wish to find a new power supply at least 350-400W PSU that can fit into this model of Tower.

I'm having problems trying to find a suitable diet:

    1. it must be integrated into the tower itself.

-I feel a bit stupid now, I forgot that the plate itself does not affect the power supply. -

If anyone has any suggestions for a diet for this computer, help would be greatly appreciated (infinitely).

This Corsair should work, but there are other choices.  It is a model single rail with 34 amps on the 12 volt bus.

Regarding a new video card, this block of power SUPPLY Corsair will give you plenty of choice.

Review the performance of NVIDIA specifications. Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

  • HP compaq 8000 Elite - VS642UA: switch ON / OFF

I feel like such an ignoramous among you experts.
I just got a HP compaq elite 8000. I've never set up an office
front. I pushed the power button and the green light came.  I pushed
It once again to turn it off but the green light stayed on. Is this normal?
I can't tell anything from the screen because my VGA cable is damaged
and I have to take another.
    Thank you

ATTENTION - hopefully you do not turn off the PC by unplugging the power cord. That could cause all sorts of problems.  The preferred method to turn off the PC is to use the operating system to turn it off.  On Windows, there is a choice to turn it off after you have clicked on the "Start" icon in the lower left corner.  Depending on the version of windows, the startup icon may look like a flag or a globe.

The green light to the rear stays on for only a short period if the power cord is unplugged. The Green led should stay on when the PC is still plugged in but turned off.

  • Drivers PCI and USB for W8.1 HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF?

    Hi guys,.

I'm trying to update an old workstation HP Elite 8000 LTS to W8.1 but can't find the right drivers for the PCI Serial Port and USB devices. Driver HP downloads page shows nothing for W8 x 64 when I put in the serial number and search for drivers. Apparently, Windows 7 is as far as I can take this machine?

Naively, I thought that Windows can handle these aircraft out of the box, given his age.

Can someone confirm if I'm able to run W8.1 on this material and if yes where I could find appriate drivers for it?

    Thank you

    Scott

You are the very welcome, Scott.

From what I can make of this hardware ID, it is part of the USB2 controller system.

Something really got blocked upward with the USB/USB2 chipset driver part.

See if this Intel chipset driver installation does nothing to correct the problem...

Let the speedstep, it is designed to operate as low as possible depending on the application you are using, run prime95 and you will see mounted power 2.3 GHz cpu.  I see no reason to turn it off.

So really, you want or need to do, in the Power Options, see this:
