  Go to system--> general Preferences and uncheck "hide and show the menu bar automatically.  Also, if you use any application (like Safari) full screen, the menu bar will be hidden until your mouse over the top of your screen.  To stop this, press ESC to exit full-screen.  The menu bar must return permanently.

  I've been adding some handy add-ons and tweaks when everything all suddenly but my favorites are gone. All menu options drop-down (for example, file, tools, and help) dissipated as well, so I couldn't find an easy way to change the settings back.

• I PasswordBox as an add on and all of a sudden it does not appear in the menu bar.

  Note that this was most likely caused by the Delicious Bookmarks 2.3.4 extension which appear in your list of system details and you should find an element (box) at the bottom of the menu delicious to restore the bookmarks menu.
