A new disk images

I know, this has been asked a million times, and even if I get it, I'm having a problem with some popup that nobody else has mentioned it please let me provide a little background, so we are all on the same page. It's pretty simple. I have about 30 000 pictures I COPIED to a NEW external drive, outside of Lightroom. Just a mirror image, no change in the structure. Now, I add a NEW folder on the NEW external drive and it imported into lightroom. So all my images in lightroom reference images on the OLD disk, except for this folder.

Now, when I go into Lightroom and do a right click on the folder my albums and select "update folder location. ", select the NEW external hard drive, I get a message that says,"the selected folder or one of its subfolders is already in Lightroom, you want to combine these files? "I cancelled out of this because I'm not sure what this will do. I can only imagine that the reason why he made his appearance is because of it off file but do not know why he wants to merge. Merge what?

Screen Shot 2016-06-21 at 4.15.15 PM.png

So here's my question. Am I doing something wrong or what?

Thank you very much

  • HP G6: Windows 8.1 to new disk image recovery

I bought a new drive bigger and harder for my G6. I made an image of my old drive windows and I have a 8.1 windows installation disc.  I think that it is equal to a repair disc. It is in any other operating system. If I set the bios to the legacy that I can boot the disk windows 8.1 but it will not restore the image because it was made in efi mode and active legacy it says it's bios mode. The computer does not start the disk windows 8.1 in efi mode. I tested the drive in another computer and it starts. The computer will boot to a windows 7 or windows 10 drive but not the disk of 8.1. How can I do to restore that image I did?

Rethinking the computer was in legacy mode when I made the image. I feel pretty screwed by this experience of windows 8 CV.  I had planned to upgrade to windows 10 after that some of the bugs have been developed. Now, it's out of the question.

OK, I'll try that. I won't recommend the purchase of new laptops to anyone yet. Get a Thinkpad T series used with Windows 7. I know that you could still buy them last year. They last forever.

You need an imaging utility, similar to True Image Home 2011 either Migrate Easy 7.0

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/TrueImage/

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/MigrateEasy/

If you buy the Seagate hard drive retail box version, a copy of Acronis should be included, it can be used only with their readers, or you can download it from the Web of Seagate website, you will also find that other hard drive manufacturers have their own free cloning software available.

First, install the new drive as the secondary image, the exsisting C: / for her.

Immediately stop the system, switch the data cable [SATA port 0] to the new disk, making the new master hard drive and see if the system boots properly.

Start the system with only the new hard drive connected.

Be sure to leave the original drive disconnected, until the new hard drive is working to your satisfaction.

Before cloning a hard drive, make sure that existing drive has no corruption or virus on it, because they will be transferred to the new hard drive.

It will take a second SATA data cable, there should be a spare connector to SATA power inside the housing.

  • Problem with 3.6.22 for English downloaded disk image: corrupted

I'm currently under Mac OS 10.3.9 and Firefox 2.0.0.20. I came across the page

    http://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/all-older.html

which provides images of disk for version 3.6.22. Somehow, my version of Firefox never got under tension / updated to this version of Firefox automatically, which I expect to happen.

When I click on the link to download the Mac OS X version in American English, I get a message that the disk image is damaged. I thought that the British might work, but it will fail in the same way.

Firefox 3.6.22 is not compatible with OS 10.3.9? Maybe that's the problem.

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever release for Mac OSX 10.3.9 and earlier versions. Newer versions are not compatible.

You can use the program manager HP recovery on your computer to create a recovery DVD or USB (USB key only, will not work with any device which is recognized as a HARD drive), regarding the image of the system, in short, Yes, a drive of 500 GB will be more than enough space. If the new HARD drive is formatted using 4 096 bytes per sector that poses problem.

Microsoft has not started taking charge of system images on hard drives with 4096 bytes per sector up to what Windows 8.

To see what you have, follow these steps:

Click on the round starting and in the type box:

    order

Click with the right button on command prompt and choose Run as administrator to open a command prompt window and enter the following command to the drive letter of your new (I use D drive so you put in your drive letter):

    fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo d:

Watch them bytes per value of industry and whether it is 4096 that is the problem.  Windows 7 supports only 512 bytes per sector as in this example from my D drive which contains 512 bytes per sector (this will not work):

In this example the Bytes per sector is 512 MB then it will work well for the Image of the system.

What is the Bytes per sector on your new HARD drive?

If the bytes per sector on your new drive is of 4096 you will reformat to 512 bps, use a different HARD drive or a program that takes in charge 4096 bps third.

  • Failed to create the system cd disk image backup

Original title: difference between auomatic backups & do your own backups?

    Hi you all,.

I'm a bit confused about backups, I just got my new mohterboard HPp6320y/win7/improved / 2.7Gz cpu, 64-bit, 8 G - ram. HP offers to immediately burn a recovery-re-boot disk, which I did. Then they strongly suggest to copy a restore disc fictitious system using an external hardrive or external storage such as cd - rw disks, I don't understand if I can burn a shadow of system using my existing internal drive or some other form of storage like USB drives provided that they have sufficient capacity.
So far, so good, but when I first tried to burn a shadow/system using my existing built in internal disk drive, the only choice in the context menu after clicking "burn the backup of the system" was my internal hardrvie. He did not get a disk, so I dropped back until I could understand if I was doing something wrong and fix it
I know that my automatic HP backup restore points are made on a regular basis with or without me having to ask, once partition it the space reserved for different backups with full capacity, my system removes the oldest to give room for the new, correct?
I also know that the purpose of having a shadow system is if your hard drive goes wrong, you can restore your entire OS & the personal data to a new disk, so store in a partition of your works currently hardrive would make no sense if it goes wrong, correct?
Then why, my system will not burn a shadow on a freshly unpacked well-known R/W disk? (I have 10 of them I bought still packed)
Do I need to use a drive external remote disc?
Also, I have a factory built-in removable Pocket media player provided out of my older HPa610n and it holds 160Gs, I have the appropriate connection and it appears therefore as a storage device when I turn on my new current HP. However, when I click Backup a shadow system, it shows that my cd player internal existing as an option where I'm supposed to store my shadow of system. Yet they claim that I can use a USB device, provided that it can contain enough storage, I am really confused and feel a migraine coming!

    Help!      Please... sincerely, boulonman

  • Error Installer of photoshop cs5 "eject the disk image.

I use a mac but already owned a PC, for which I bought Adobe Photoshop cs5 about 4 years ago. I installed photoshop using the disk on my PC after that first of all, I bought the product and I'm now trying to set up on my new mac. However, the Setup program will not open on my mac because when I click on "set - up.exe" it says that my mac cannot open this type of file - which makes sense because I know that if I install on a mac, it should say 'install.app' on the file I'm supposed to open. This leads me to assume that I bought the product to download on a PC instead of a mac, I thought wouldn't matter because I know that you can download the installation program from cs5 photoshop on the adobe Web site, then I can just post my previous purchase of photoshop cs5 using serial number. However, when I download the installer from the website, open the "Adobe Photoshop cs5" file, and then click 'Install', I get an error message which reads "'Install' is corrupted and cannot be opened. You must eject the disk image. "as shown below.
