A profile of user ASPNET hijacked MY user profile?

Yesterday I connected and used my computer as usual without any problem.

Today when I started Windows and entered my password, I kept getting the "the system could not log.  Make sure that the user name and domain are justifiable, and then type your password".  I was unable to do anything at this point until I ran a boot floppy that allowed me to edit/delete user passwords.

Removing the password so I could get the computer to start, I noticed the user profile of the NETWORK, which I had never seen before, but MY original user profile was not the case to find.  Now, I am running Windows on the Administrator profile and I go to computer management, local users and groups, users... and I see administrator, ASPNET and cba_anonymous (which my understanding is an Intel LANDesk user account)... but my profile is still not.

I don't really have a problem with the ASPNET user profile be there, but it's almost as if this profile has taken the place of my profile and I really want to go back to my profile so I can retrieve my Documents and get to my desktop without having to start from scratch.  I considered as creating a new profile using my previous user name in the hope that he would use the previous documents and settings, but did not know TI that would work.

Any suggestions?

  • I can't get Firefox on my MacBookPro, my user profile is not available. Help!

    I got a message at the bottom of my screen telling me that my navigation could be faster if I "refreshed" Firefox, so I refreshed. I lost my favorites and a few other things (I forgot it would happen) and the thought restart my MacBookPro could receive a "restart". When it was time for Firefox restart, it said that I had two profiles, so I chose one of them... apparently not the right one. Firefox wouldn't load or install, and now I don't have it at all. I tried to uninstall Firefox (moving icons to the trash) and all over again with a brand new installation, as a new customer, but... now it says my user profile is not accessible and cannot be found. I dug this file to the trash and put it back on the desktop, but apparently it does not either. I don't know what to do. I NEED Firefox for my browser, even if I didn't have a bookmarks etc. I can redo those, find a new etc. I don't like using Safari, I miss my Firefox like crazy. ANY help or advice on how I can get back Firefox would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Katy

    You must locate the profiles.ini file or use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.

    See:

    This is usually caused by a problem with the file profiles.ini.

    You can use one of them to reuse an existing profile or create a new default profile for Firefox:

    • Remove the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
    • Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
      If you still have an existing profile, and then click "Choose a folder" in the MP and select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile.

    You should find the file profiles.ini in this hidden place:

    • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
      * C:\Users\ < user > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\
    • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox /.
    • Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/

    If the file profiles.ini compensation does not work then also check the location of the cache files.

    • Windows: * C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.
    • Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/
    • Linux:~/.cache/Mozilla/Firefox/
  • FireFox--CreateProfile works not when you target a path of Firefox different Windows user profile commands

    Hi guys,.

    I am using the FireFox--CreateProfile to create a new profile to a different windows account (for example connect as administrator while trying to create a new windows profile account 'demo') of the order. This will in fact fail because all files are created (lack profile.ini and etc...). However, when I tried to create a new profile directly under the logged in windows account (e.g. login you as demo while trying to create a new profile for the demo), the command works successfully.

    I can confirm that this is due to the limitation of the command that Firefox is unable to create a new profile under a different windows account?

    Yes - each logon user account gets its own file profiles.ini and - CreateProfile only works for the current logon user account.

  • lost my win 7 with her user profile has my FF favourites, can I get them back somehow?

    Somehow, I lost my user profile in Windows 7 64. He did not come when I try to change user and I can't log off the current user account as it is the only one on the pc now. But, when I go into the users folder in the c drive, I can see my old profile and all its folders and files and programs, but I can't find a way to get you to connect on it. Then... I just took all the files and put them on my new profile... no problems except that now... when I clicked on FF to see if the pc to connect to the internet, it was as if I had just downloaded for the first time and all my bookmarks disappeared. Could all be still hidden somewhere on my PC? as in the programs on the c drive folder? or are they just disappeared, erased somehow? I don't remember what I did but I was in safe mode, and I think I clicked on create a group or a working group and the pc look like it was downloading something. now my old profile is locked up and this news is in its place, everything is identical with the exception of Fire Fox and my favorites.
    Also Note *.
    I'm on my new job here at work PC, the pc in question is my old pc work at home at my house.
    Thank you!

    In fact, I fixed it myself last night. I found all my old files Fire Fox and my favorites were there so I was able to import my new profile.

    I used a small Windows search tool I downloaded awhile there is its called 'Search all' and I typed in "Mozilla" and it pulled up all Mozilla on my pc, I clicked then through files until I found this one with the backup book marks in it. I copy and pasted the path to the file in the import screen of Fire Fox book marks and click ok and then boom, they were there. Then I made a copy of this info and place it in a folder on my desk top in case never happens again I will not have my wife calls me at work at 7:30 asking where his bookmarks are lol!

  • Refreshed, lost Firefox session. I copied and pasted sessionstore.js in all user profiles, but nothing. Help, please

    I refresh firefox to help the slow - ment that he hooked me on but he lost the session.
    I looked online, found the thing that says to paste the sessionstore.js in the user profile, done this, but it did not work. I have now copied this file (of old data of Firefox on the desktop) in each profile that I can find, but nothing. have I misunderstood something? Please help, I need these tabs!

    You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

    Make sure Firefox is closed when you copy the file sessionstore.js "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop to the current profile folder.

    You can also consult upgrade.js-< build_id > files in the sessionstore-backups folder.

    You can save session files in the sessionstore-backups folder in the Firefox profile folder to keep possible significant session data.

    previous.js (cleanBackup: copy of sessionstore.js from previous session that was loaded successfully)
    recovery.js (latest version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
    recovery.bak (previous version of the sessionstore written during runtime)
    upgrade.js-<build_id> (backup created during an upgrade of Firefox)

    You can copy a file in the sessionstore-backup folder to the main profile and rename sessionstore.js file to replace the current file (make a backup of the current sessionstore.js).

    I'm loading .mbx file in my directory of files C:\Users\Marylfletcher\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\etmnp0du.default\Mail\Local. In some cases, I'm not able to see the message. I need help on troubleshooting. As it is a stop for my team and myself.

    MBX is an electronic file created by Microsoft Outlook Express format. Thunderbird uses mbox (without a file extension) for mail storage.

  • Crashes Firefox attempts to access the windows user profiles (maybe)

    After several relocations and other attempts based on comments found in the various positions in the solutions, I'm still stuck here. Firefox installs and works ok with high permissions (run as administrator), but crashes frequently then run normally. In normal mode it still crashes when opening the 'options' dialog box on: page preferences and when you download a file. It sometimes crashes when browsing. No high mode installation happens to 90 percent and crashes, elevated installation works very well. An explanation would be that firefox doesn't have access to C:\users\ < profile >------... at the level he needs, but I was not able to find out why. IE seems to work very well, and I reset the default security settings in IE. The signing of the accident say nothing useful about the reason. I adjusted all the firewall and down the ladder. Everything worked until I got other problems requiring aggressive edits and now all but firefox works. Basic navigation in firefox is ok, and work the plugins like flash and acrobat. So I was stuck on this for about a week, limping and try things. I don't know if it's firefox specific or something systemic, but it would be good to know what is the problem, so I have an idea how to solve this problem. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thank you.

    So my next move was to create a new user account. The new user has been able to use Firefox normally. Several other problems existed with the original, but not as bad as Firefox user account. In any case, with user created a new account and the old one deleted, it seems once again things are finally normal. My guess is that some elements in the account data has been deleted, by something or someone, and Firefox to access, but did not check the possibility he wasn't there.

  • I have synced the profile user, how do I turn it on?

    During installation, I was prompted to import a user profile and I accidentally chose the wrong pair. I uninstalled Firefox thinking I could correct my mistake during the next installation then it will automatically use the "wrong" choice, I did the first time.
    How can I fix it?
    Thank you!

    You can use the Profile Manager to select another profile if you have multiple profiles.

    If you need to import data from other browsers, then you will find "Import data from another browser" in the bookmarks (library) Manager

    • Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup
  • Two thunderbird profile both at the same time with the same user account

    Dear Sir
    I would like to use Thunderbird two at a time for two different profiles with the same user accounts.
    I use linux OS.
    I thought using the:

    1. Thunderbird Pei Profile1 &
    2. Thunderbird Pei Profil2 &

    But at the launch of the second order, that nothing is happening.
    Appears in the foreground thundirbird already started.

    If possible use this configuration now or in the future nex?

    General rule, thunderbird runs only a single instance of a profile.
    However, there are two options, you can try.
    You can use an addon esily switch profiles:

    There's more help here:

    He said: "several instances is expected for debugging, so use it at your own risk.

    One method would be to use: start > run
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe"-no-remote Pei profilename

    There is a space before '-no '
    and also before '-P'
    followed by a space and the name of the profile

    You can create a shortcut icon to run each separate profile.

  • How can I get Thunderbird to get me back to her original profile in C:\users location... ?

    Profile of Thunderbird in C:\Users\... Thunderbird\Profiles\ [ProfileName].

    Copied on the name of E:\Thunderbird\Profiles\[profile]

    Changed the local server setting to the new location.

    Nothing brings ups.

    Tried to change the location of the server to C:\Users\... Thunderbird\Profiles\ [ProfileName]. Received a message that the directory is not suitable for the storage of messages.

    Save the profile with MozBackup.

    What should I do to recover my profile?

    Operating system Windows 7 Pro
    Thunderbird 32.5.0

    You must keep profiles.ini in its original location and change it to do reference to new location of the data on E:.

    And undo changes made to the Local Directory, you did in the account settings.

  • Select the user's profile

    IV been with FF on my lappy for years, now all of a sudden, when I try to start FF he asks me select a profile of user the following options:--

    - default
    - default-<number>

    This annoyed me no end, its bad enough that FF will update the controls and settles on the startup, but now this?

    Occurred for the FF developers that when pop users open a browser, we need to snap open, we have always ridiculous wait time amounts so that it starts. What happens if Im check the timetables of the bus - Id miss the bus. Or the time Iv in conference and needed a quick Web page - embarrassed! Both need FF Iv times and she could not be there for me in time. If I wanted a huge delay and/or additional tasks between clicking on open and opening then Id of course get some ridiculous instead adobe products.

    in any case as much as I like and love FF I have unfortunately closed to him for this reason and use Chrome instead. Ill check every now and then to see if the choice of a user profile error has disappeared.

    Thank you for breaking my heart.

    I solved my problem by changing chrome.
    Thanks for your very technical responses and imagine the simple question of why my browser always let me down when I need it in an emergency by performing updates or some other rubbish at the start.

  • Windows 7, had to change the user profile lost all my info from Thunderbird. Help, please.

    Worm or virus caused me to have to change my user profile in Windows 7. I have everything back to looking more or less as he did before this disaster on my computer and I am once again able to do in Internet Explorer, but when I go to my Thunderbird e-mail, it's like I've never used before and he wants me to set it all back up again. All contacts are gone and all of my old emails etc. How can I proceed to try to solve this problem?

  • Can I edit profiles.ini to hide the name of the user from the Profile Manager list?

    Deleting the entry makes profile inaccessible as near as I can tell.
    I've tried combinations of name/value obvious but not luck (hide, show hidden, visible,...).
    Where can I go to learn all possible ways to change this file? Already looked in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profiles.ini_file

    My file looks like this, "cr" is the one I would like to remove from the list (it is not in the location by default if it helps):

    [General]
    StartWithLastProfile = 1

    [Profile0]
    Name = profile of Ron
    IsRelative = 1
    Path = Profiles / ps45kylq.default
    Default = 1

    [Agroalimentaire1]
    Name = bee
    IsRelative = 1
    Path = Profiles / 7aorkyy5. Bee

    [Profil2]
    Name = cr
    IsRelative = 0
    Path = D:\Users\Public\cr\Firefox

    Hi the q.c., you can try to completely remove this profile profiles.ini and just run it with a custom shortcut in firefox:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -profile "D:\Users\Public\cr\Firefox"
