A 'spike' in record

On my Mac running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and hearing CS6 5.0.2 Build 5.  When recording to 44100 (bit rate any) stereo, I get a "Spike" that distorts the record.  On the waveform, it appears a block.  There is a high ground "beep" a distortion of my voice and a lack of a part of the recording.  Help!

I can't tell you specifically about Macs, but in general, when this happens, it is a computer problem, not a hearing one. Hearing never registers which sends the audio device, and there are a number of things which can easily be wrong, even if it depends in part on exactly how you save. If you record in multitrack mode, so that's direct-to-disk - if he's going to own and seems to be doped during playback, then you may well have a hard drive problem. In waveform mode, the record is in a temporary file, which is written in the permanent location at the end of the recording when you save - so if the tip before you save it, then you could still have a disk problem - only in the temp file.

However, if the peak occurs when you check in in fact, even without a backup, then something somewhere is claiming all the resources of the machine or try to change a setting for audio device.

All this is really a long-winded way of saying that we need more information!

  • Events shown in the range of navigation when you view the properties of the system for recording of JFR

Which record the events shown in the range of navigation when you view the Properties tab system for a Java flight recorder? I'm guessing that they mark the time for JFR's writing of the events on the disk.

I ask because, during the capture of a lot of information with the help of JFR, we see two effects that correlate with these events: (1) CPU usage ramps up a little bit between an event and the back then, level departure after each event, even if the application workload is constant; (2) the clock used to time stamp on all the events THAT JFR capture high-resolution seems to run more slowly in the period following immediately each of these events, perhaps for the period while JFR is written to disk. The slowdown of the clock appears as an increase in the rate of events shown in the range of navigation in other tabs - I also analyzed the events selected out of the original EN file to check their apparent rate.

I see this on Java EE applications running on JBoss EAP 6.x on Java 7 on machines virtual small vSphere.

The events shown in the navigotor range in any time must appear at the same time they are created. not when they are written to disk which can be a little later, depending on the settings.

In the System Properties tab, you generally see a single spike per segment in your record. You should see the same thing if you go to the tabgroup events and enable only the Java Virtual Machine system property / Initial if Types discovered.

As for the damages of its use and CPU timestamp, it sounds interesting.

What exact version of Java 7 you use, there would be some bug fixes in later versions.

  • Premiere Pro artifacts during recording, drop in framerate

IM recording games and other software and sometimes I experience spikes minor lag in which the video recording is less than 30 FPS for a simple a few frames, but shows up in artifacts glitchy after. Anyone know a fix? IV ' e tried looking everywhere and could not find one!

    Example: Test - YouTube

I recorded it using H.264 in Bandicam (Note: the records are very well in all other players tested). In the video I manually force the FPS to drop below 30, and you can see it happen.

GPU: Nvidia GTX 770, if you need the right version numbers ask I will get them then! Any help is appreciated thank you!

  • Question on recording concert - interference

Some time back I mentioned that I was planning on recording of a concert at our Church. It's a piano and organ music. I was watching a Rode NT4 and a zoom recorder. Several people recommended that this be a good solution, so I went for it.  As you might say, I'm new to this. I have video but no audio experience.

I buy the equipment and recorded the concert this past week end. I got an excellent record with one exception. Once at the check there was a strong spikc. It has existed on the trail of the Rode and the railway of the built-in Zoom mic, leading me to conclude that something was interfering with the recorder. After careful consideration, the spike is a series of spikcs on 2 or 3 tenths of a second and a series of approximately 35 to 40 in about 5.5 seconds. They were more than 0 dB and of course distorted and flat. I was unable to clean them without affecting sound quality.

Fortunately for me, I have a friend with another microphone running directly to a camera video mid way back in the audience. His is not affected if I used it.

My question is: someone at - it any ideas what this could be? What could have caused it?

I guess that's the live recording hazzard. Someone suggested maybe a cell phone?

If any of you have experience with something like this I'd love to hear from you. Thanks much for any help.

Steve, I would like to ask another question if you don't mind. I'm finalising recording a cd. A part of the music hymns and some is classic. Do not compress the files, I was informed by a person who has experience of recording. I also learned by another one and more background check it's ok to compress of pop music.

    Your opinion?

Unfortunately, this is the way of the world that pop music is generally compressed, mainly because record companies insist it is just as strong as possible on the radio - IE, very little dynamic. With what that classic, it is a cardinal sin, because the dynamics is an essential part of the music. What I would do with mixed material is probably compromised a little, but not using the compression as such. If the sections of classical music are quieter than the hymns, then is pushed at this level when it starts, or cut the level of hymn singing. This is known as 'the level on horseback' and generally satisfied the most critical listener better. What you have actually done is to leave the overall listening level then that is the same for all the content, and the listener should not keep the volume control. In general, however, ignore the people who say compress you more, because they don't really appreciate the music very well - just volume.

  • Synchronization of photos for the records of several PC iPAD

    Hello

I have pictures in several files in my PC.

I would like to synchronize all at once to my iPAD.

When I opened "Synchronize the Photos" - page in iTunes, it is possible to select only a single folder.

Is it possible to select several folders?

    Peter

If the records are directly under the same parent folder then you should be able to select this parent folder at the top of this screen of Photos and records of the child must be indicated below (if you select "Selected folders") for the selection and timing of the iPad for example

If files are located on your computer, then no, you will not be able to select and synchronize them with your iPad - I created a folder separated (with specific subfolders for holidays/events) for the photos that I have synced my iPad

Double-click the file gives a pop-up 'alias 'File Name' cannot be opened because the original item cannot be found... DELETE aliases, FIX, okay.  The Alias to delete does not, gives the difficulty Alias "select a new original... does not open."  A pop up States: "cannot perform this operation. An unexpected error occurred (error - 43)

Any ideas on how to remove 11 copies.

    Thank you

    George

    Hi George,.

I did a brief search on that, and reached a post in these forums of Linc Davis, suggesting a restart of the computer could heal the situation. Certainly worth a try.

Either way, the message you read indicates these items are not files. they are aliases (pointers) to the actual file. By double-clicking an alias will open the file it is pointed. The message "Can't find" sense - the file is not found because you deleted.

    Kind regards

  • ITunes can add images to mp3 created from vinyl record?

I created on a 1000 mp3 files (320 bps, 441hz) of the vinyl record.  Obviously, I can manually create images of these files individually but will take a while, so I was wondering if iTunes can automatically create.  I tried to select all the images in the library by getting album artwork, but it tells me the following statement just ' get album artwork requires you to connect to the iTunes Store using an identifier to Apple. " Please go to the iTunes Store and log in or create a new Apple ID. "I connected to itunes and he always tells me the same thing. Could someone point me in the right direction?  My files are saved on my mac.  Thank you very much

Yes, you can manually add a picture as the cover to any MP3 song in your iTunes library.  Source of origin has no importance.

The other issue is separate.  In current iTunes, go to the iTunes menu bar, and then click accounts.  The menu drops down.  At the top of the menu, if you are connected currently, your name and your Apple ID are displayed.  Do you see that?

If you are connected (and you see your name and your Apple ID), the menu bar

    File-> library-> Get Album Artwork

You don't need to have whatever it is selected in your library.  iTunes tries to get lack of the album artwork for songs in your library.  iTunes only 'creates' images.  iTunes album art search resource online, based on data from song and download all that is available and adds songs album art.  One (or more) songs will not match available album art.

Can anyone recommend a minimum set of basic upward to record music with Garageband? I expect to play piano and singing, or playing guitar and singing. It is at the same time, then you can expect to need two microphones. I want to talk about a big baby and an acoustic guitar, no midi or microphones. Already, I have the Macbook, the piano and the guitar, but assume that I have nothing else. Should what microphone I expect? What other equipment? Don't forget, I'm the research base and a minimum. Thank you!

    Hello EmeraldIbex,

Thanks for your question.  I think that music is one of the coolest things you can do on a Mac!  I'll include some products from our Web site to help you get started.  Products such as The Apogee One will give the microphone and line input jacks you need to record instruments.   Microphones such as the Shure SM58 will provide you with exceptional quality for your voice.  A visit to your store studio or recording local music will help you decide which is the best techniques of micro and placement for your big baby recording.   Here are a few sections of the GarageBand User Guide that explain how to record vocals, instruments, and several tracks on your Mac.

  • Export records of heart rate

In 2008, I studied the heart rate, swimming speed and the time relationship developed software to assess the effects of the training. At that time, we needed a HR-band, a receiver and sensors to record the lap time. It is now all integrated into the new Apple Watch. So, I just want to have access to the times and HR to see if I can resurrect the MatLab routines...

What I need is access to the times and human resource records. (I hope they have a timestamp, so I can sync the two).

    Question:

How can you get access to registered swimming times and recorded heart rate?

I thought it was possible health app (iOS9) but I can't find the option to export in iOS10?

    Tips appreciated... Thanks in advance.

For any consultation on iOS 9, in the application of health tap data on health > all, which has an icon of the top export which saves files xml inside a zip archive. This is perhaps similar to iOS 10?

P.S. I read that on the Apple Watch heart rate data were inaccurate, while swimming so let us know if you have good data about him.

  • Leave my Calculator only recording not in the latest issue

I have been using the calculator that comes with OS X to keep my checkbook balanced for a few years. In general/system preferences, I don't have not 'Close them windows when you exit an application' checked. This should I want to open the calculator with the last number still saved. He has in the past, but since the upgrade to Mac os Sierra, calculator saves what I had (except on the Strip). Is there something I can do to recover this feature?

I can check your results even if I do not remember if she previously recorded the last number. I don't know if it's a change of function or a bug etc, but I think it's something Apple should change. You could install PCalc for the App Store. It is not free, but it does a lot more.

You will likely get different opinions, but personally I would not use the fusion drive and recommend an SSD.

    Quite significant speed difference.

  • The numbers won't let me record time

    Hello

I transferred my data from old iMac (mid-2010/Mavericks) numbers to a new (end 2015/El Capitan). In addition to the fact that I can't use the wonderful version of iWork and I'm stuck with a version with an annoying interface, numbers will not work correctly.

I have a table to track the interactions I have with my students online. In a column, I record the time spent in particular student tutoring. Although the numbers transferred the old data to the new program, it won't let me enter the duration in. I can't copy and paste. And since I get paid according to time spent, it is a crucial column.

    How can I fix it?

    Thank you
