• Firefoxcrashes every time I open any tab that contains a video of youtube, unless I'm in safe mode.

After you start speed up my new system after a short pause a few hours work, firefox immediately started crashing when I tried to restore the previous session. After many trial and error scenarios, I've identified the problem is it hangs more precisely at the opening of any tab that contains a video of youtube. It crashed at this account and trying to open google maps. Firefox update does not work. Reinstallation does not work. Running in Safe Mode resolves the problem, but I'm looking for a more permanent solution.

  OK, so while I was fixing my other problems it also fixes this issue.

  TL; DR There were some viruses on my PC that probably messed with system files, I got out my hard drive and completed an analysis using another computer, found about 60 of them. Then I upgraded to win 8.1 that solved the problem, probably by replace damaged system files.

  I am running Linux Mint 16 with 28.0 FF. FF sometimes opens all previous tabs I had open, rather than the tabs that I set to open as my home page.

  You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

  I use Firefox 6.0.2, and it is a moment that I am facing this problem. Whenever I click on the little X to close the tab (sometimes I have to click 2 - 3 times) it closes the tab, but a new empty tab opens. Also the SafeSearch feature on google has itself locked on strict, not too much problem, but has happened at the same time my links and tabs not working like I want.

  Gotcha. Go to your desired homepage and close all the tabs you want to NOT open when you click the home button. Then, you have several ways to update the home page setting as described in the article.

When I open a tab of a Web site that poses a problem, freezing Firefox (but not the computer), I find that I can delete the Firefox problem only by restarting the computer.   It may be a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak file in the profile folder

  Delete sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the profile folder

  If you see files sessionstore-# .js with a number in the left part of the name as sessionstore - 1.js then delete those as well.
