A two WiFi adapter different networks - is it possible?

We have two WiFi networks.  One for Apple products and one for Windows products.  I have a Macbook Air laptop with windows8 installed VMWare image.  I figure I can only connect my windows OS to the apple network.  Does anyone know if it is possible to configure VMWARE for my Apple and my Windows VM network connection network connection can share the unique laptop computer wifi adapter but connect to two totally different WiFi networks?  Here is a textual diagram of what I'm trying to do.

Apple WiFi network Network WiFi Windows

                      |

Built-in Apple WiFi adapter

Connection to Apple The Windows7 VM connection

I tried the bridge with wireless and Automatic Mode.

NAT mode works very well, but the VM_Windows7 connection will only use the WiFi from Apple of the host connection

If you want that a virtual machine connected to a network of separate WiFi then what is the host using you would have to have two separate WiFi network cards and the Mac has only one.  As a workaround, you can choose to use a USB WiFi network adapter connected to the virtual machine and access another WiFi network then accesses the host.  If a Virtual Machine is presented only a wired Ethernet network adapter it is filled in the map the host network or uses the NAT virtual VMware, which provides Internet/network connectivity beyond the host itself.

  • M476dn: Printer in two different networks - is it possible?

    I got the following requirement:

Printing from iPad should be possible on one of our network printers. As known, Apple Airprint is available only via WiFi. Question: Network printers are in another network than iPads.

    My idea:

-Buy a Wifi capable HP printer network (for example. M476dn)

-Configure the LAN port for normal office network (printer connected to the network via a cable)

-Configure the printers WiFi interface for the Wifi network, which is used by iPads

Then the PC and laptops should be able to print via normal office network (print server) and iPads via Airprint.

Question: Is it possible to set up a printer HP in this way, so that it is located in two different networks? Especially the M476dn this would support? I would like to clarify this point of course before buying a ;-)

In fact the user must move the network for printing.

It is the only possible option I can think, other then get a different printer for each network.

  • Two VMS on different networks and ping each other

    Hello

I'm using VMware Workstation for the first time. I have two VM and I want them to be on two different networks. I want that networks be able to ping each other. I did research on this since yesterday and nothing seems to work. Perhaps I am confused with the bridge, the Nat and host-only adapters. What I have is:

    VM1-> has two network adapters: VMNET1-Host-Only (192.168.247.128) and VMNET8-NAT (192.168.42.130)

I'm not able to have the internet connection on the HOST only

    VM2-> has a network card: VMNET8-NAT (192.168.42.129)

Each virtual machine I can ping everything on the other virtual machine, but it seems a little odd.

Is there another way to do this?

    Thank you very much

  • Connect the 2 locations using RV016 router to fill 2 different networks.

I have a RV016 connected to a comcast cable modem to slot 1 with IP 192.168.6.1

I have a RV016 connected to a comcast cable modem at the 2 with 192.168.10.1 IP location

I installed a VPN tunnel from gateway to gateway between 2 routers RV016.

I have a LAN in slot 1 with the IP 192.168.1.1, which connects to the internet through an Adtran router with 4 lines of T1 servile.

I have a LAN with IP 192.168.5.1 2 location that connects to the internet through an Adtran router with 3 T1 lines servile.

I like a computer to location 2 to connect to the RV016 in the local Comcast modem to the Comcast modem at location 1 in the RV016 to slot 1 then go out to the local network at location 1 and communicate with an application server on LAN 1.

    Help, please.

You can't do that with a RV016. The RV016 only supports layer 3 tunnel. This means that the two ends are different networks with different subnets. The traffic between them is not filled.

If you want to really two bridged networks, i.e. join in a single LAN with a single IP subnet and a single broadcast domain you need a layer 2 tunnel, for example a tunnel L2TPv3. That works on layer 2, which is on the MAC addresses inside your networks. In this way, you can use the same IP subnet at both ends and on each side, it seems that the other side is connected to the same ethernet network.

The RV016 does not support the tunneling of layer 2. You can create an IPSec tunnel, which is layer 3. If there is really a need for a tunnel layer 2, you get different devices. I recommend that you evaluate if a layer 2 connection is really necessary or not.

    Hi pillowgod,

    1. When did you start to question?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

You can check the following link and try to run the manual Intel WiFi diagnostic tool to check the functionality of your WiFi adapter.

    http://www.Intel.com/support/wireless/WLAN/sb/CS-025780.htm

You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the Intel wireless card and check.

    a. Click Start and type in Device Manager in the start search and press ENTER.

    b. expand the network adapters in the Device Manager

    c. right-click on the device, and then click Properties

    d. click on the driver tab and click on uninstall the drivers and click OK.

    e. restart the computer and check.

You can also see the Intel Web site and try to download the latest version of the card wifi drivers.

  • ASA between two buildings W / different subnets. How to extend the network?

I have two buildings with two different networks. Users to build one want to be on the network to build two. Standard range of course will not work if I should put two ASA both buildings and the [IPSEC] VPN between the buildings, extension of the network? Will this work? If so, where are the commands in the Guide of Config ASA?

Thank you... If you can get this for me very fast.

    Matt

Matt, a litle more information would help every building completely separate in terms of connectivity physical any fiber between them, are are the two buildings of the same company? everyone has his own Internet access provider?

If there is no connectivity between them that the internet and if each building has its own ISP is therefore assumes that there is already a firewall, if that's the case, you can implement vpn L2L and connect the two networks via Ipsec via internet.

    Here's a typical scenario

  • Is WiFi adapter supports WPA - PSK on Equium A100-147 encryption?

I decided to buy a satellite A100-147, but I would like confirmation that the WiFi adapter supports WPA - PSK encryption. I can't find confirmation anywhere. My guess is that he does, it's a recent machine, but I would be sure.

    Thank you once again.

    Doug

    Hello

I m not 100% sure what wireless network adapter has been installed on this unit but I think it might be to use an Intel Wireless 3945ABG card.

The Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG card supports WPA, WPA2, WPA - PSK encryption. I found this info on the Intel site. You should also check it.

But as I said above, I m not 100% sure about the Wlan card. To my knowledge, several series of laptops come with different hardware configuration. This means that different wireless network cards can be used in notebook.

  • Intel Centrino 1000 bgn wifi adapter 'broken '? (on Z570)

On my new laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad Z-570), I have installed and working
fine (for about 2 months now), as the dual boot between Linux and Win - 7.

The wifi hardware is the Intel Centrino 1000-N, that plugs into the PCI-E card
location of bus. (I had the large bottom plate and examined the)
card, who has two sons, 1 white, 1 black and stands in his
slot with a single phillips screw. [Seems that they can put "lock-tight"
cement on the threads of the screw, the screw did not move.]

Here's my current dilemma: 2 days, while that started under Linux.
rather than tension, as usual, I closed the lid and went to bed.
In the morning, at the opening of the lid, I realized... hmm... maybe it was
    hibernation (if I remember correctly).

So, I turned it off and then cold started upward. The wifi was not see
no signal at all. (Clearly the router/WLAN worked like my wife
laptop connected fine.) I grew up in a cmd, su command prompt ' ed, and
"iwlist scan" and has confirmed that there is a problem. Said that he could not
analysis via the interface 'wlan0', because the network was down.
I went in the ceni and walked through a re - configure and got:
'... cannot be set without wire-flags... impossible operation, due to the RF-kill'

Intrigued, I restarted, more to Win - 7, and she also couldn't see any wifi signal.

I checked the slide switch on the front dash Panel... it looked very well.
has been passed to the right. Slippery left causes an avant-panneau-LED
to go off, slide the switch to the right, causing an avant-panneau LED to
on. (I think I know that this switch controls bluetooth and wifi
devices. I have not played with the Bluetooth at all yet).

2 days ago, my conclusion was that the material 'broken' on the wifi adapter.

But now, my "instinct" is the thought that maybe miss me another possibility.
(for example a BIOS setting governs the wifi?) Could a misconfigured 'putting into hibernation'
the installer put the wifi adapter in statehood "firmware-level/BIOS-level-disabled"?
[for example such that neither OS can easily get the wifi adapter to see signals?]

    TIA...

checked the fn + f5 to turn on the wireless?
also check the updates to the bios download page if there is place.

  • Pavilion DV7-3165DX, Atheros AR9285 WiFi adapter, communication and incompatibility issues

After much research, I decided to buy a Pavilion DV7-3065DX. Then, I walked to my local Best Buy to say the 3065DX had been abandoned and was no longer available for purchase. However, the 3165DX, his successor had arrived and was very similar to the previous generation. After a brief discussion to justify the increase of prices with myself, I gave and was sold.

Within hours, I was in College, trying to connect to the WiFi network without success. After several hours becoming more and more frustrated, I decided to call it closes unexpectedly. Rushing home after class, I plugged the new Linksys WRT160N, I had also bought wireless router and configured on my desk. Once completed, I tried to connect using the new Pavilion. To my surprise, it worked! (And no problem whatsoever no less). So, apparently, the wireless adapter works, but does so only on some networks.

A week later, I tried to connect to a number of public and private WiFi networks of different types with limited success. Most importantly, I am able to connect to my home network, but not to the public networks in my college or city libraries. At one point, the Office for my college indicated that my WiFi adapter is one of a handful of cards on the list of incompatible devices to their network. As it was to buy the laptop in the first place, I am extremely frustrated.

I turned to the support pages of HP for a solution. I considered a update driver despite the use of the HP Wizard to keep abreast on all software downloads and updates. To my dismay, product for the Pavilion DV7-3165DX page lists of Broadcom WiFi adapter, which does not correspond to my hardware (Atheros AR9285). What's worse, is that the manufacturer's website offers no driver downloads to customers that its site is adapted directly to product manufacturers.

At this point, I'm increased and not sure what to do. I am already attached to this laptop. Apart from the war with his fingerprints on its black and shiny chrome surfaces shiny, the problem with the Atheros WiFi card is the only problem that I had. I hate having to go through the ordeal to return, and I do not think that this problem requires the sending of the product to HP for repair. Furthermore, I believe that if it came down to one of those, I simply return the product and find my way to another product by other manufacturers in total.

This certainly isn't the experience I had hoped with my first purchase of HP.

    Any suggestions?

I have the same question... However with me the solution wasn't in the pilot. I spent 3 hours on the phone with technical support, try to understand.

What it comes down to say that Atheros AR 9285 is a shi * ty wireless card. It supports 802.11n Protocol, but only 2.4 GHz (the same as the b/g frequencies). My Cysco wireless router was broadcasting 5 GHz Wireless-N and AR 9285 was not able to detect it. Once I changed the router settings to allow 2.4 GHz Wireless-N Networking, the Atheros card was able to connect under the Protocol N. However, the maximum speeds of 2.4 GHz card are slower than 5 GHz card.

I wish they would give an option to choose what wireless card to install in my laptop. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I'm always done what they me screwed on.

Or y at - it a setting or two that needs tweaking?

    Rick

If you have an Intel Wifi card, Atheros drivers do not work. If it has worked and you have an Intel driver, it must be Intel. Here is the latest driver to Win 8.1 Intel for E5 - 772.

  • Guests on different networks?

    Hello.

I wish some of my guests 10.0.0.0 and some on 172.16.0.0.

My internet gateway is on 192.168.1.0

Is it possible for 10.0.0.0 and 172.16.0.0 to talk to each other and to access internet?

If so how would I do it?

Do I need to configure a virtual router Windows? With the help of 2008R2 only.

Thanks, I hope someone can help me with this.

    Armann wrote:

OK is not good since I am running this on my laptop.

To connect to two different networks (IP subnets) at the same time, you always have one active network card in each network.

I just need to be able to use the computers on different subnets to be able to

to use Sites in Active Directory.

At the same time? If not, a NETWORK adapter is sufficient.

But if I had on 172.16.10.0 and other guests on 172.0.17.0?

Would still need two network cards?

Only if you connect to these networks at the same time. If you have another feature of routing on the network, you can connect to a network and use the external router to enter the other network.

"Windows (OS Server only) or Linux.

    Windows servers only.

Then, you need to install 'Routing and RAS' If you want to route between two networks. If only the virtual guest or your host must speak with the two networks (assumed you have two physical network adapters), you don't need routing. Routing is necessary if your host or virtual guest connects two networks so that other hosts can use this router to connect to the other network.

I'm guessing that's not possible on a single computer laptop

Varies according to the number of physical network adapters.

Hmm maybe if I buy a usb network card now that might work?

    Yes.

  • You can remove an iPhone to iCloud via WiFi (no cellular network)?

I recently bought an iPhone from a friend 5s. My friend's daughter had used the phone on the AT & T network until the screen was broken and their families have opted to get a new phone on a different network. Having managed to unlock AT & T iPhone (so they could be used on another GSM carrier), I asked my friend to make sure that the phone was "unlocked" from AT & T. All I can say at this point, the phone is no longer with AT & T.

Preparing the iPhone for my own daughter, I realized that the phone was still connected to iCloud for my friend's daughter by the intermediary of find my iPhone.

While I'm trying to get hold of the girl and the hope that we can use its AppleID password for my friend's iPhone settings, I now wonder if she'll be able to do remotely if the phone is not connected to the cellular network AT & T. I have consulted my home wifi network , but I hope someone out there can clarify if this can be done remotely via WiFi or if my friend's daughter must enter his AppleID and the password (or give them to me) directly.

Thanks in advance for your answer.
