  I just wanted to save both my iPhone and my iPod Touch to my Macbook Pro. When I plug them in do they not appear anywhere (but they charge through the USB cable).   My 2009 Mac Mini started feeling the same exact behavior.

  I tried all the usual, including diagnostics

  -swap the USB / lightning cable

  -try the new cable into another USB port

  -J' tried 3 different - now 4 different iPad / iPhone devices, all currently running IOS 9.3.2 (iPhone 5, iPad Mini, iPhone 5 s), 7.1.2 IOS (iPhone 4), latest version as of today.

  -The Mac running OS x 10.11.5 - latest version as of today

  -J' deleted the contents of the/var/db/lockdown folder

  -J' I have reset the privacy settings and place on each device (settings-> general-> reset-> reset card and privacy)

  -J' rebooted IOS devices

  -J' killed all other processes running on the MAC including Chrome - about to restart

  -Applications Photos always starts and wants to synchronize new photos from any connected device

  -Whenever I connect a device iTunes recognizes the device and asks me to trust to the device and the device, I get a pop-up asking me to trust the computer, but I can't select the device in the iTunes window.  QED iTunes does not recognize any IOS device connected to the Mac.

  -My next plan of action is a reboot, then download a new copy of iTunes from apple.com/downloads, delete iTunes and re - install.

  As I'm typing this post, I've killed the iTunes process and reconnected my iPhone 5.  iTunes starts, I get messages of confidence which I accept, and lo & here's the iPhone 4 starts synchronization. I can see now each device connected to the Mac.

  So, in summary, the post is a list of my actions and all the tips that I cleaned of all about Internet forums when I google the topic.

  Hope you this help and anyone else who has a similar problem.

  I have VMware Workstation 7.2 in Win 7 x 64 OS later.

  I want to use the USB-to-Serial Connector but my host OS cannot recognize the driver. This connector works with Win XP, so I don't think that there is a hardware failure.

  Then I tried running XP machine in VMware workstation, but when I map this USB on XP VM with message

  USB to USB Device "Composite Device" connection failed - driver error.

  Do I need to have a good driver on host to the USB VM card operating system? or the device! mark in the Device Manager in the host OS cannot be mapped to VM? or the USB device must be properly recognized by host operating system, as the device is suitable for USB Serial device not Composite?

  Any solution?

  I recently bought a HP all-in-one OfficeJet 5740 printer for my desktop Dell XPS 8700-(Windows 8.1) and attempted to install, using the USB connection option. I was informed by the instructions of configuration to go online to a Dell website for the latest version of the installation software to download if I had access to the internet. I have DL'ed software and it apparently installed OK-(aucune erreur ou quoi que ce soit pour indiquer qu'il n'a pas abouti). Once finished with the installation of the software, I got to the window option connection-(wireless, usb cable ethernet cable). I chose the option of usb cable, however after having to then connect the USB cable to the printer and the computer via the usb cable, it tries to connect, but alerted me, stating; "Failed connection to printer, printer was not able to connect successfully via the usb cable. I tried this several times-(par moi-même et remote assist avec Support ordinateur Dell). I had the same problem last week when he tried with my old HP Officejet 6100, which I wanted to replace. I ran the program of doctor printing/scanning HP on the 5740 and it lists the printer and the software installed, however the HP printer install lists assistant the complete software package for the printer is not installed and some basic features drivers may be missing or damaged. Also when I go into Control Panel, then devices/printers, it displays the icon of 5740, however after rt - by clicking on the printer icon, instead of the regular menu that comes up to the top-(showing the complete properties, select this printer as the default printer, etc.), it displays a menu of smaller selections very-little (who don't understand not the "select as default printer"). I tried downloading the printer software two ways-(via the HP website on line 1, and then click the installation CD supplied with the printer, the same results.   Thanks for responding, but I was able to get the printer installed with the help of diagnostic, remotely in line with my computer manufacturer support staff. He was determined to be a software problem because of a recent update of Windows 8.1. Thanks for the effort!

  I have scoured many forums and I get the same answers and no help.

  I plugged my speakers dell via the usb connection or the audio output jack.
  then I went to the control panel and sound and audio devices and he says there is no device connected.

  When I tried to reinstall the multimedia audio (because it sounds more logical) he says that he can't do because the the "Wizard could not find the necessary software."

  The USB connection is tonly used to power to the speakers, I guess.

  Re-install your audio drivers should do the trick.

  Do not use the MS Update service, go to the website of the manufacturer of the PC/laptop to its page for assistance and using the name and reference number of your PC to download the latest audio drivers XP for your machine.

  Install then restart and you should have sound. If this isn't the case, re-post giving details of your device.

  BTW, you should also to back up your Ethernet drivers.

• MacBook Pro 13,3 "retina Logic Board failure?

  I bought my MacBook Pro 13,3 "Retina display nine in early 2014 before going to College.  This is the most expensive item that I have ever owned I always made sure to take the greatest care in the use and handling.  About a week ago, I went to turn it on and a prohibitive symbol appeared on the screen (a white circle with a slash) and after that, it was completely cut off.  I took it to a (MicroCenter) renamed repair store and they said it was a failure of the logic board and would cost nearly $700 to fix.  Everyone knows this Council logical fault problem?

  I am extremely disappointed by Apple because I thought of them as the cream of the cream with advanced technology "State-of-the-art".  I expect this device to last until the end of my academic career to a minimum and the fact that it's broken in less than two years is absolutely unacceptable. I did some googling and I saw a trial about the logic board failures in 15 '' MacBook Apple of 2011-13 and had published a complementary repair program.  I hope they do the same with my case.

  Again, someone else has their logic board fail randomly?

  Sorry to hear that. I suggest you take a look at the forums of MacBook Pro to find cases similar to yours and check if there is a systemic problem or if you just had bad luck. Obviously it will not be a legal action if this problem is reduced to a few users, but there's a chance if this is stated as a failure of the design.

  About your problem, it looks more like a problem of flash storage rather than a failure of the logic board, but retina MacBooks Pro have most of their parts soldered to the logic board, so, any repair is quite expensive. Finally, if you live in a European country, remember that your Mac has got a 2-year statutory warranty, then you may qualify for a free repair.

• How can I erase an imac with a bad logic board?

  I have an end-08, 24 "iMac with a bad logic board. I have since bought an end - 15, 27 ", 5K and was able to move everything via a Time Machine backup (thank God for that!). I'm getting rid of the 24 "but whatever way I do I first have to wipe it and the logic board bad converts this problem.

  Although I'm not quite sure what the logic board, symptoms and a local Mac store confirmed that it's the highest probability. It will start and sometimes there and the past, the login screen, but the screen is always 'glitch', vertical lines appear and it freezes before it gets never entirely recorded in.   Use the target disk Mode. Connect the Mac with a firewire port, love at first sight or a cable Ethernet follow the steps here, except that you use the disc mode target to make the hard drive on your act of target as a connected drive. Then use disk to erase utility.

  It is not easy to get this information here. I m afraid person here can help you with these specific things.
  Problem is also to get these components materials as separate pieces. In my opinion, you should try to buy some mainboard at low prices for this model of laptop with perhaps damage of CPU and try to make it work again.

  What you can also try is to contact Toshiba service in your country and ask for help.

When I use another card memory USB for same usb connections, the computer recognizes the drive. There have been a few times when the camcorder has acknowledged the connection of the camcorder (most recently on June 12) - but this does not occur at thie time. If I take the memory card 16 GB additional of the camcorder and connect it to the connection of memory card, the computer has always recognized it.

  My problem is trying to get the video from the cameras internal memory via the USB connection.

  I think if/when can I get these loaded files, I have the intention of is no longer using the internal memory of the camera and always use the extra memory card.

  Need a few details.

  What tablet you are asking about?

  What OS is on your PC?

  Tried another cable?

  Usual suggestion is to unplug the devices and reboot the computer and tablet.  Check the settings of the tablet in storage/settings / < icon options, top right - looks like 3 blocks stacked vertically > / USB connection to the computer.

  See if the PSG is checked.  It is suitable for the transfer of all types of files.  Connect the devices.  If still no joy, try to uncheck MTP and PTP.  This should make the Tablet appear as a camera.

  I had to do with an old Win XP computer so that he can "wake up" and make the connection.  I then switched to the PSG and all was good!
