A way to run old programs (1995/96) on Windows 7?

I need to get videos of the screen of the old formation automated programs that I created a long time ago (one of them already in 1995). Is it possible to install these? I have Virtual PC running with XP mode, but I can not install.

If you have Windows 7 or windows 8 her you don't need Virtual Box to install compatible with an earlier version of Windows programs. You can run with the program compatibility Wizard.

Run the program compatibility Wizard

  1. Open the program compatibility Wizard by clicking the start , clicking Control Panel, clicking programs and then click on use an older program with this version of Windows.

  2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation for the program and, using the wizard disk, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The wizard is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

To change compatibility settings manually for a program, right-click the program icon, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.

    CJL,

Yes, that should run.   Except... Your show is there any material?  To use all the functions that are specific to Windows (from the platform folder)? It relies on a video driver specific or sound card? It relies on mouse right click action?  All these kinds of things may or may not work because they are closely linked in the Windows operating system and the underlying hardware.  While the software itself will problaby execute, the programmay does not work as expected if some of these dependencies are handled differently by the Apple hardware.

I have not used VM but native running under Bootcamp works fairly well, again allowing the issues mentioned above.

  • Cannot install old programs insce change computer Windows 7

I have a lot of games and programs that are not installed on my computer.   I have a new Windows 7 and slowly tried to reinstall many of my programs and games.  For the most part, I get the message is not Compatible with this system.  Contact software manufacturer.  If I knew that this could happen I have would have never updated to Windows 7.  I tried the resolution of compatibility issues, but even with that, I can not install this program.

You have several options.  First, you can upgrade the programs if there are compatible with Windows 7 versions.  Second, you can try to install in compatibility mode.  Third, you can install XP Mode if you have the version professional, enterprise or ultimate edition of Windows 7 and can live with the graphs (color resolution and 16 bit about 900 x 768).

    Good luck.

  • How to run the program success unlock the screensaver with password?

    Hello

As I wrote in the title I'm looking for a way to run the program when the user unlock screensaver (station ultimate windows) which is secured by password.
I need it for security reasons.

    Best regards

This should be easy to set up using the Task Scheduler .

    (1) launch of Task Scheduler of Panel > administrator tools > Task Scheduler , or type Task Scheduler in the start menu.
    (2) use Action > create a task to start.
    (3) set up your task by giving it a name and by providing credentials if necessary.
    (4) under triggers tap new and choose on workstation unlock . You can choose to trigger the task for any user or group, or a specific user.
    (5) under Actions tap new and then locate the program that you want the task to run. You can add arguments here or point to a script.

If you need assistance with setting up your task, try the Help menu in Task Scheduler task or by mail here.

  • Can I run an old program BACK under Vista?

Is it possible to run an old program BACK on a Vista operating system. either 32 or 64 bit?

I found a simple painless 3rd party open source solution. It is simply done by running a BACK EMU called Dosbox.

Use the latest version of www.dosbox.com.

Read the easy to understand by the Doc for the command line interface commands. Worked perfectly the first time to run an old (something 80) BACK ASCII B & W strategy game that I use to start BACK on a 4 platform mghz v3.2 clone IBM XT.
  • What is the best way to run two concurrent programs using the output of either executing the other?

I wanted to just kind of get a notice of some people here. I have two main screws the first is a data acquisition system that displays 99 different sensors and which feeds on these data in a table. The second is a real-time processing system that is designed to take the painting and do many calculations. The two output data from screw at the front that I want to see, so I don't want to use just as a Subvi.

Is there a simple way to run two screws, using the output of the data acquisition system to power the processor so that you can easily see the signs before two screws? I had thought to simply copy the code from the processor in real-time in the DAQ VI, but I fear that the VI resulting will be very large and unsightly.

On a side note, I'm more thinking about this? I apologize if this is a stupid question, it has been a long week... aaaand it's Wednesday.

Look at the Architecture of producer/consumer.  It will be a good starting point, even if you find that you need to change.  When performing data acquisition and processing of tasks in parallel loops, they can both run simultaneously.  Both can feed data to the main draw of the VI.

I'd probably use three loops with the third being the user interface only.  All that must be displayed to the user is sent to the GUI of the acquisition of data or processing loop loops and commands or entered by users are returned in these loops, probably through queues.  The wall of the VI of data acquisition and processing VI are never displayed to the user.  Especially the treatment, because it runs on a system in real-time, should avoid synchronization issues that can present a graphical interface.

  • Display a text box before running a program

I am designing a new interface for a pulse on LabView duplicator and I wanted to display text on the front before running the program. I managed to create text boxes that appear after the code begins to run, but I was wondering if there was a way to display these text boxes before the code runs.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding / simplistic, but if you have a string indicator (text box - as you call it) you can simply type in what you want the initial value of the being, and then right click and select 'data operations.  Then choose "Use current default".

  • LVDT offset before running the program

    Hi all

I use an LVDT to measure the movement of the ground. This must take into account both the consolidation and swelling and therefore requires the LVDT to move in both directions. As a result, the voltage must be reset after the LVDT is pushed so that it can record both negative and positive direction. So far I managed to do it using a business structure that runs when the "zero" button is pressed. However, it comes into force once the program is run. What I need is a button "zero out" which can be used before the program is executed. I want so push in the lvdt, click on the "zero" button, then start running the program to avoid these initial tensions is recorded on the xy graph.

I found a vi file that does this, but it was very complicated and used old version of labview. I'm relatively new to labview and therefore could not follow the coding on it.

I've attached the vi file to make it easier to understand. Your help is greatly appreciated

    See you soon,.

    Gurung

Two screen grabs show how I did the same 'Auto zéro' function when you use an LVDT to measure displacement, I was also saving strength at the same time then graphically representing the post record results.

On the first race the true / false loop is set to TRUE, in this case the displacement is subtracted from zero to provide compensation, this offset value is then passed to the shift register where it remains as a constant for subsequent itterations of the main loop, while the value is simply passed straight through the true / false loop with nothing done to it on all iterations after the first.

The offset value is then added to the data read from the LVDT to provide a number of displacement from zero since all that the program was headed all first. There is a 'Save' button on front of who's in a hurry to start and stop recording data - hope this is a help - Mike

  • Which account you want to use to run this program?

A week ago, just after installation of Microsoft Update, when I start my computer, a box came who said: run as.  Which account you want to use to run this program? [x] current [of user\Owner] protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity. This option can prevent computer viruses from harming your computer or personal data, BUT selecting it might cause the program to function properly. Current use is already checked, and my options are to check I want is not protected, or cancel. I tried all the options, or just close the box. What is the devil? Why should I see it every time I start my computer? And, more importantly, why would I want to when, "selecting risk the program work correctly?" How can I get rid of this annoying box, since I already have Kaspersky as a guard dog? Thanks, Tess

    No, you are not condemned.

To make the warning "diagnostic mode" Begone, re - run msconfig and select the radio to "Normal startup" button (cela re - automatically checks the Java update box, as well as all the other boxes you might get UN-ticked).

The way you described your original message is a bit confusing.  Messages request 'which account you want to use' - what are the choices presented to you?

Run as.  Which account you want to use to run this program? [x] current [of user\Owner]

Is the account that you sign normally called "owner"?

You have an x in the box in front of "Current user" - If the current user IS 'Owner' what does the other box reference?  It may be a better representation of the pop - up:

    Run as
Which account you want to use to run this program?
    [] Current user / owner
[] Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity. This option can prevent computer
viruses from harming your computer or personal data, BUT selecting it can cause the program to
    work correctly.

That is, we really give you a choice of the accounts, but only the current account or anything.

When you go to control panel > user accounts, is the account that you are connected to a "Computer administrator" or "limited account"?

You need to do some detective work more:

    • In the Startup tab, run msconfig and uncheck ALL items.  If the "RunAs" message does not come to the top, you know that one of these elements is the culprit.  Selectively, double-check items (you can do as a group to save time re-boot) and re-start until you determine what startup item causes the error.  Once you have identified the startup item that is causing the problem, post back with his name and I will try to help you determine what to do about it.
    • The "RunAs" message continues even with all uncontrolled startup items, you going to dig deeper.  Reset things to normal by selecting the option "Normal startup" button and follow the steps.  I'll look at other things that start when Windows starts and see if I can suggest the next steps.
    1. Download Autoruns http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx --> here
    2. Extract the files (right click on the zip file downloaded file and choose "extract all")
    3. Run Autoruns by double clicking on autoruns.exe (not autorunsC.exe).
    4. When the scan is complete, click file > save and save AutoRuns.arn in a place where you can find it later
    5. Download AutoRuns.arn on your SkyDrive (go to https://skydrive.live.com/ and log in with the same name of user and password that allows you to connect to ask questions here)
    6. Right click on the file downloaded and select 'Sharing' then 'Get link' and 'display only '.  Copy the link and post it in your next reply here.  See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/skydrive/share-file-folder
