A4 and A5 extern screen resulution

Im looking to buy a Toshiba tecra A5-145 or A4-205, both radeon x 600. I wonder if anyone has any experience in the use of these (or simular tecnicaly) fitted with an external screen with the resulolution 1050 x 1680. I spoke with the Toshiba helpline I Sweden but they could not give an exact answer in regarding whether it would be possible or not.

Hello

The Tecra A5 supports an expanded display of 800 x 600 at 2048 x 1536 resolution. But these values are a function of the external display and the refresh rate. The detailed information you will find in the user manual you can find on the Toshiba site.
Found in Appendix B.

Tecra A4 supports a display extended from 800 x 600 to 2048 x 1536 resolution.
See also the manual for the specific values.

Good bye

    Hello

    1. What is the model of the LG external screen?

    2. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    3. have you installed all the updates on the computer?

    Method 1.

Connect the external monitor to a different computer and check if it works.

    Method 2.

I suggest to update the graphics drive and check if that helps.

  • Satellite L500 - external screen display after closing the lid?

    Hello
I use the Satellite L500 - 120 Notebook, and before installing Windows 7, the laptop has a function very uncomfortable, when I applied an external display.
When I closed the lid of my laptop, Office was shown on my display (with the native resolution of the external display) external, so I had not to
change anything on the control panel. In Windows 7, Miss me this feature. I already tried to use the Control Panel, but there is no parameters, which fits
with the previous ones. I can duplicate the screen in order to see my desktop screen on my external screen, but with the resolution of 1366 x 768 laptop.
If I extend the views, then there is only the background image to the external screen, but this time with the native resolution.

So my question is, how to conifgure Windows to recognize that I closed the lid, and the screen should be shown on my external screen?
Or should I install applications Toshiba, that I had before, who visited account this function?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

I m not a Windows 7 user because I want to wait until it will be released official, but I hope that I can help you a bit:

First of all in power management, you can choose the action that happens if you close the lid (g. e. sleep, close, etc.). This action must be disabled because otherwise the laptop shuts down or something else.

So I think that you need to install the display driver for your laptop. You can try the Vista driver because most of them are working on Windows 7.
Then you should be able to define the correct screen resolution for external monitor.

A working display driver is important to the clone or extends monitors to verify this!

  • Tecra S11-128 on the external screen flashes

    Gentlemen.
    I have two problems.

1st. If I use the S11-128 with the provided power supply and an external LCD display, a distracting flickering effect is visible. It disappears if I run the laptop off the battery or with an old Tecra M2 supply (2004, electrically equivalent). My faulty power or is it a common behavior?

    2. I wrote a polite and detailed message, but the language of the forum filter does not let through, so that you get a condensed version X-(X -)

    TIA,
    Paolo

These symptoms are typical for the land issue.
I much read about flicker on external monitors, while the laptop is connected to the power adapter.
In most cases, a 3Pin adaptor cable might solve this problem.

I recommend that you get in touch with an ASP local and order this cable.

  • Satellite L50 - B - 1 P 1 - external screen does not work

I just bought a satellite P L50-B-1 1. When I tried to connect the port RGB (VGA) to a TV (as an external monitor), the laptop screen became smaller and the right part of the whole picture was absent, even when the external monitor is not turned on.

The screen of the laptop on the left and right show a black background. The image is in the middle. It's supposed to be normal or something is wrong with this laptop?

    All the answers are welcome

As I understood the message, you have activated the external display output and can see the image on the TV.
The question is; What resolution the TV taken in charge and which external output option selected?

The point is that you can switch to the external display by choosing the option; Extended desktop, display clone or you can turn off the internal display and broadcast the image on the external monitor TV.

In case you cloned display, two screens (internal + external) must use the same resolution! Where the TV would be favourable to a lower resolution, the internal laptop screen would reduce the resolution too!

I recommend you read the user manual it provides some basic knowledge of laptop

  • Satellite U300: problem external screen

    Hello

I just bought a U300 laptop, which is really nice. But I tried to plug in an external display on this subject and the result is really bad, and I don't understand why.

    My external screen is an E1900WS (19 ", widescreen, resolution: 1440 x 900 at 75 Hz).
When I plugged it in, I asked to extend my desktop.
My laptop screen is fine, but external has a problem: the screen moves to the resolution of 1440 x 900 at 75 Hz, but there are a few ripples on it.

Like her, the image is not perfect. I tried to change my external display driver, but it's the same result.
My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium (I don't like, so slow...).

Do you think that 1440 x 900 is a too big resolution?
Do I have to update my driver Intel X 3100?
    You have another idea?

I'm sorry if my English is so bad, I'm french.
    Thank you.

    > Do you think 1440 x 900 is a too big resolution?
The resolution is not the problem, but you can try to change it and check if the same question is displayed using different screen resolutions.

    > Should I update my Intel X 3100 driver?
Intel x 3100 is unclear for me so I think that you need to update.
To my knowledge, some satellite U300 were equipped with Intel 965GM GPU.
So if you want, you can use the latest driver from Intel page!

    > Do you have another idea?
Unfortunately not! …Apart from upgrading the Intel reader.

  • Satellite A665 no display - external screen does not work

I help my brother in law with his laptop Satellite A665, who developed a very strange display issue.

As his wife has poor vision, he uses an external VGA Westinghouse flat screen display with the LCD screen on the laptop.

Now, however, when the external monitor is disconnected it also loses the LCD.
I tried to go to the LCD by using only the display of control Fn/F5, but when LCD only is selected, it remains empty.

Then, I went the Toshiba HW config utility and disabled monitor automatic selection at startup and selects the display LCD only at startup.

Reboot in this way also translates into a blank display, until the external monitor is reconnected, date at which both displays are active.

Bottom line, it of that I find no obvious for the laptop LCD display without also the connected external monitor and displays. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this embarrassing problem.

    > Bottom line, it of that I find no obvious for the laptop LCD display without also the connected external monitor and displays.

Does this mean that internal displays only works if the external monitor is connected to the laptop?

It's really strange. As you say, usually, you should be able to switch between the internal display and the external monitor by pressing FN + F5.

It would be interesting to know if change BIOS defaults might restore the internal display. I guess that it will not solve your problem, but it s worth a try.

I guess that it is hardware problem (motherboard), and it won't be easy to fix

  • Satellite A500 and use external monitor

    Hello

I bought recently (yesterday) a Toshiba Satellite A500.

I am using an external monitor AND the laptop screen. At this point, the two screens are working well but have the same images/windows.

I want to do is have each screen show another window/program running and being able to drag and drop etc seamlessly between screens.

When I bought the laptop, I asked about this and was informed that Windows would recognize the second monitor and would encourage me to choose from a list of display options, however it is not happened.

    Can you help me?

    Kind regards

What you need is the parameters of good monitors. So what you have now is the clone mode and you need to enlarge the bureau. I put t know precise adjustments on this model of laptop, but enter the screen resolution settings and check if there is possibility to enlarge the bureau. If not, t go into the advanced settings and check if you can find it here.

I Don t monitor external and impossible to check it for you, but I m you will find.

  • External screen goes blank when I close the lid Satellite P100

    Hi all.
I hope someone has an idea as to what is happening here.

Sometimes I like to watch a dvd or use the center of the media on my HD TV. I use Windows Vista to make it.

When I had XP installed, I close the lid of the laptop and watch them to my heart's content. Now with Vista, I need to have the lid open be able to watch on the external display. If I close to you then the external screen is empty, as if I unplugged the laptop.

That makes me free! What worries me is burn-in screen, because the standby screen not turn on as I am watching video.

    Help! Someone! Anyone!

AFAIK in Vista that you can use the same options as under WXp. check please supply option and you will find an option called when I close the lid. As option, choose no action.

I think you should be able to close the lid while watching the movie on screen.

  • Satellite A200 external screen is blurry

We bought 5 x A200 satellite. After connecting to any external screen, we have nothing else that a fuzzy picture.
It is impossible to work on it.

Our other laptop P200 series work well on this poster. We really don't know what to do with it. We tried to use Nvidia utility, WIndows, drivers update utility, change the display via the keyboard, but we get the blurred image in all cases.

We are very pleased with the A200 performance, but the external image is unusable. That you would recommend a solution?

    Thank you!
    Filippi

    Hello

Could you please post exactly the name of the Satellite A200.

Are these units delivered with an NVIDIA graphics card or Intel card?
In the nVidia control panel, you can change the brightness and contrast of the screen.
I m not 100% sure that you will be able to choose the external screen but it s worth a try.

Go to-> nVidia-> display control panel-> adjust desktop color settings
The new page will appear where you can adjust your color settings.

Check to see if the external monitor and select it. Then you can change the position of the brightness and contrast.

  • External screen does not work after update of El Capitan

    Hi all

I hope someone can help out me with this. I have a MBP 2011 (i7, 4 GB ram, 330 M) and since I've updated to El Capitan (now 10.11.2) my external screen no longer works. I use a HDMI Cable MiniPort who worked before the upgrade. I am trying to connect to a 720 p TV and tried to connect it to my 28 '' ASUS monitor 1080 p that I normally use for my Windows desktop. None worked. My MacBook display blinks for a while when I connect it and then nothing. I was not able to connect it to my projector via VGA USB adapter until I've found the last update on the Web site of the adapter, then at least the display has been resolved. I tried the 'View to detect' button in the preferences system, no luck.

I had the same problems. I installed El Capitan in MacBook Air early 2015. My external monitor is Dell P2314H. After installation, the MacBook Air is no longer detected the monitor, and the monitor does not save any video input to the computer.

I chatted with Apple Support, but they don't give me satisfactory answers.

Then I came across this answer on another thread of discussion the similar question:

Re: El Capitan does not detect my external display

And the solution that works for me is proving to be as simple as changing the cable. So I stopped using official mini Apple displayport to HDMI/DisplayPort/DVI connector. Instead now I use a cable (mini displayport to displayport in my Dell of MacBook Air) I bought locally (I live in Jakarta, Indonesia). It works like magic.

    I hope this helps you.

  • The start screen is displayed on the external screen

    Hi guys,.

Recently, I have a Thinkpad L540 and it is pretty cool.

But I had a problem when the laptop starts when a VGA is plugged, the splash screen (the screen just after, when the portable lights) is always displayed on the external screen (projector).

I already checked the BIOS and it is set to "Thinkpad LCD".

I don't know if it will be fixed with a BIOS update.

    Thanks for your help.

    Sincerely,

    Zero1519

    Welcome to the forum!

What you see, it's quite normal and the way it has always been on ThinkPad.

Don't expect an update of the BIOS to "fix".
