• FLASH CS4 - tabs of the text object?

  Just learn Flash CS4 and I cannot believe you cannot create or put the tabs in a text object. You can set tabs for editing actionscript, but not in a text object. Are you kidding me? Same wordpad can do that. Please tell me that there are a few keystrokes hidden or something. Why is the text-formatting so hard when you can put things in 3D... I'm puzzled.

  I think that, in this case, you put the cart before the horse.  The variable is that the function will set the value of correct?  You have the textfield object being assigned to the variable, which is at that time an undefined value.  Try to think of what you are doing as you do.

  I'm not sure what I've done - graphic symbols, text are visible in the swf but not on stage, in the workspace or in the library.  I wonder if I have accidentally reset something. I tried to import an .ai graph in a file in flash cs4 when it happened first - graphics is not visible in the workspace, but could be considered in swf. Now, I don't see anything in any flash file I open even those who have been very well before.  Workspace just blank and empty when library window select symbols in the library. If I try to get something, or insert text, it disappears as soon as I switch to the selection tool, but is not visible unless I look at the SWF (control-enter). Please help - much appreciated!

  The project window is just a blank white square in the workspace of developer too.

• Appeal of a variable from within an AS3 movieclip in Flash CS4

  I'm trying to back up a string variable from within a movieclip that is in an another movieclip on the main timeline to help:

  trace (VariableString);

  and also

  trace (stage. VariableString);

  No work

  The variable is a textfield of entry as well as traces very well when it is on the main timeline, but won't work inside the movieclip. I am using Actionscript 3 in Flash CS4.

  I appreciate this has probably been discussed before on this forum but I can't find an answer of difinitve that seems to work.

  When I put "MovieClip (root)" I tried that literally... not MovieClip1 (root).  You will need to cast to the class of the root object, who, most often using MovieClip() enough (among others, like object).

  What I don't see is happening is that you be able to get the value of the text of MovieClip1 the way that you say you do.  If MovieClip1 contains a text input component, then to get the value of this text you need to target the text property of the element inside the MovieClip1, as in...

  VariableString1 = MovieClip1.textInputName.text.

  I need to import files of pdf text three in my Flash CS4 for use in a project that I am doing, but whenever I try to import these pdf files at the library I get an error that reads 'one or more files were not imported because he had problems reading of their.

  I use Adobe Reader X, which is the last available drive, Flash CS4 and Windows Vista Home Premium and I don't understand why I can't import PDFs in Flash. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  I have created a graph on one layer in my timeline in FLASH CS4 and then add a new layer above it with the text to create a zoom effect. When I click on control > play the movie plays fine with text zoom out as it is supposed to, but when I click on the control > test movie film shows white with the text visible permanently and graphics flickering on (visible) and so fast that it is barely visible in the Sea (not visible). Any ideas on why the film of test does not work? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  The kind of behavior you describe is often obvious when there is an error in actionscript in the file.  You have all code in the file?

  It could also be a case of loop between two images, well based on what you describe, I see currently is the case.

  I am very new to Dreamweaver and actionscript, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

  I'm on a PC and created a simple gallery in flash cs4 to load images on click of a button.  The images are loaded with a class loader.  When I test the gallery in flash images loading properly.  However, I have inserted the .swf in Dreamweaver and when I downloaded the page on the server, the buttons and animation worked correctly, but none of the images have been posted.  I tested it in Firefox and IE, and it did not work in a browser.

  I thought that perhaps that the files were in an incorrect location, but everything is in the same file, including the .swf and images.  I'm also using TweenMax and all of these files are also with the .swf.

  I also made sure that I got the latest version of the Flash Player, but it still doesn't work.

  Well, since Flash CS4 is not officially released, the only people who have it are official beta testers and those who somehow got an illegal copy of one of the beta versions. If you are not one of the beta testers, it may not be a good idea to advertise on the official Adobe forum you have a copy.

  But Adobe released CS4 help files, which can be consulted online (I think there was an announcement on this forum last week), then you might find the answer to your question there.

  You probably have a security problem that you can get around using Adobe - Flash Player: settings - global security settings panel Manager or download on a server and test the server files.

  A lively, created in Flash CS4 site I need to update so I plan to do in Animate. Before you start working on it properly, instead of simply to create a new site from scratch, I would like to check:

  • Is it possible to export the site as html5 .fla? I don't see the option to do so.
  • Will I need to recode all or some aspects, information within the project? I did a quick export of Animate and everything seems to work, outside links (for example contact leading to e-mail and facebook button) does not work as they did before.

  Uncheck combine images into a spritesheet in publication settings. IMHO, this should not be the default.

  Currently I have a subscription of CC, but need to change a flash application created using Flash CS4 and action Script 2.0. I have a serial number for CS4 Web Standard, I bought in 2008, but that you do not have the software.

  I found a page with the download links of CS4 so I downloaded Flash CS4, but my serial number is not valid for this product. So I went back to this page, but do not see a download link for a product called "Web Standard" only "Web Premium".

  The code works, unless you use a more recent feature. The FLA does not open, you must CS5.5 or later to open the CC. If you can find a copy of CS5.5, you can open any CC file and save money for CS4.

  Hi, when I try to open the Flash on my PC I get the following message "the Adobe Flash CS4 application has quit unexpectedly.  I uninstalled all of Creative Suite 4 and reinstalled using disks of my Creative Suite pack and the serial code.  During installation, an error occurred while the Flash is being installed and I get the same message when I try to open.  I use Windows 7 on a desktop PC.

  uninstall, clean by use the CC cleaning tool to resolve installation problems. CC, CS3 - CS6 and then reinstall.

  If you find an error during installation, take a screenshot and fix it, if it is in English.
