  Years ago I bought Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Standard.  I recently had to replace my hard drive and I need to download again, but it seems not to be this option.  I don't mean to the right place, or is Adobe not allowing me to use the product that I purchased?

  I try to install CS4 Web Standard on a server terminal server (RDS) to make it available to my users through our customer terminals. When I'm on a XP / Win7 I can click on the file Setup.exe and install the suite. When I'm on a Windows Server 2008 R2 and click Setup.exe I get a window that says "Adobe installer has stopped working".

  I hope that I post on the correct discussion platform.

  I just got my CS4 Web Standard academic version.  (I have also 8 Studio on my PC for my old pages).

  I noticed that there are 2 CD in the box. The one with 'application' on it and the second with 'content '.

  I'm not a hero when it comes to install programs.   So I put the cd request first?   What is the content of Cd for?

  I had the same thing with Studio 8 and never needed to use the content CD.

  The DVD contains extras, such as fonts, example files, documentation, etc. The programs are on the Application DVD.

  You probably have a security problem that you can get around using Adobe - Flash Player: settings - global security settings panel Manager or download on a server and test the server files.

  I have received contradictory information Adobe and that after they sent my purchase and I just got it today in the mail.

  I have the 8 commercial Studio home.

  I bought the full version academic CS4 Web Standard. (it was cheaper, then upgrading commercial of the Studio 8 suite CS4 Web Standard and same phone Adobe customer suggested me to do).

  Before I bought it, I asked by phone with the service the customer

  -Improve opportunities: Adobe confirmed as follows:

  (commercial) upgrading from Studio 8 for CS4 Web standard Suite

  or

  ° full academic version of the suite CS4 Web Standard (as the school store has no upgrade)

  or

  (a) in the case where I don't want Dreamweaver (one is not the fires of artifice and Flash) then I need to buy a full version of the stand-alone CS4 Dreamweaver

  -the possibility to always be able to use both versions (old and new)

  Telephone support Adobe confirmed also that Studio 8 versions and the Suite CS4 Web standard can be installed on the same desktop and I could keep on using Studio 8 so.

  In any case the Adobe phone customer service advised me to purchase the full Version of Acadamic of CS4 Web Standard as then I have the new version of all my programs from Studio 8 for a better price.  In addition they confirmed to me that later I could upgrade this academic version via the commercial shop if there must be a CS5 or so.

  Some of you on this forum even told me about the update of Studio 8

  As advised on this forum to check I launched the same question on 27/5 to the Adobe customer portal on the internet and received only today (15 days later) a response that is in contradiction with what the customer service Adobe told me on the phone.

  Now they say that an update of Studio 8 is not possible at all, and I can only use a single booth of Dreamweaver CS4 version.

  And that versions Studio 8 and Dreamweaver CS4 / CS4 Web Standard cannot be used on the same computer. I need to uninstall the old version.

  On the Adobe Web site, you can even click on a link to show you the commercial evolution options from Studio 8 and CS4 Web Standard Suite is one of them.

  Now the customer portal has totally misunderstood my question or telephone customer service me misinformed.

  But with this contradictory info and my shipment received, I'm full of doubts about the news from Adobe.

  Can someone help to put the light in this darkness?

  You said a lot here and I think I understand all that, so I'll try to help you as best I can.

  Regarding the passing of Macromedia 8 to CS4, you can upgrade if you have a 8 commercial license.  You cannot switch to Dreamweaver just because Adobe policy says that you can only pass a suite to a suite as well as a program or a program or suite.

  To answer the part about whether or not you can have both installed on the same computer, the answer is Yes.  But you cannot use both at the same time due to shared resources.

  You should be able to. CS4 install in a separate Directory of CS4. I currently have a system running suite CS3 and Flash 8 and InDesign CS2 web! From time to time, the system is confused between Flash 8 and Flash CS3 to open when you click on a FLA file in Windows Explorer by default. But apart from that, there is no issue.

  I intend to get CS4 and still keep Flash 8 and CS3, simply because I've been working with people around the world who don't bother to upgrade.

  I have both CS3 and CS4 web preium installed on my system. I started working in CS4 and found that the debug window will not work. I created a new Flash CS4 fla and added a few breakpoints. It seems to work without stopping at breakpoints and display of my tracing instructions. I have a ticket in support, but no one has yet responded. I remember what happens when I installed CS3 web pre but don't remember what I did to remedy. Is - a uninstall of all the products necessary? Or do I just uninstall Flash. Any comments welcome. I hate the support call and talk to a person in another country that doesn't have a clue how to fix anything!

  A lively, created in Flash CS4 site I need to update so I plan to do in Animate. Before you start working on it properly, instead of simply to create a new site from scratch, I would like to check:

  • Is it possible to export the site as html5 .fla? I don't see the option to do so.
  • Will I need to recode all or some aspects, information within the project? I did a quick export of Animate and everything seems to work, outside links (for example contact leading to e-mail and facebook button) does not work as they did before.

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Uncheck combine images into a spritesheet in publication settings. IMHO, this should not be the default.

  The code works, unless you use a more recent feature. The FLA does not open, you must CS5.5 or later to open the CC. If you can find a copy of CS5.5, you can open any CC file and save money for CS4.
