Accidentally changed my documents and cannot change back

So I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my SSD. I intend to use my SSD for games and programs that require a speed and a HARD drive of 1 TB for storage of other things. So I went to move the My Documents folder on my storage drive, but accidentally made the storage drive to the location of My Documents.

My Documents is no longer under my user folder or on the desktop, so I can not reset it that way. Is there another way to put it into default?

You can use the registry to set the association under the following path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

However, I recommend that you use the system restore instead because it will be a more complete restoration of settings and will not bear any risk of loss of files or make changes to the registry failed.  To use the system restore, simply type 'restore' in your Start menu.

  • I was chased from my email (NCR) and cannot get back in. It happened when I blocked all permissions on an ad on the page of the Inbox. RCN said it's a problem of mozilla.

I had taken a pop up ad my email inbox page and tried to do the same to the other on the opposite side of the page. I think that this announcement is not a pop up but a part of the Inbox page. Like I did with the pop-up ad, I click right on it and then click on "View Page Info". I then went to the "Permissions" window where there are 7 categories, with the option 'use default' is checked. I unchecked all of them and checked the 'blocked' for all 7.

As soon as I closed the window, I was thrown off my Inbox and was returned to the login page for my email. When I went to reconnect, I was unable to. I'm stuck on the login page and it won't let me access my Inbox. I called MRC, my provider, who was able to get right. Then, I used my Internet Explorer browser and was able to get into my perfectly fine e-mail inbox. The 'tech' at the MRC says it has something to do with Mozilla and I tried to reset but warned me that I'll lose all the settings. I am reluctant to do so and I would be grateful if you very well the folks at Mozilla to tell me what happened and how to fix it.

    Thank you.

You can undo your changes to authorization. Probably the most relevant is cookies. Try one or two of these methods:

    (1) page Info > permissions tab

While displaying a page on the site:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > permissions
    • ALT + t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > permissions

    (2) approximately: permissions

In a new tab, type or paste Subject: authorizations and press ENTER. Allow a few moments for the list on the left to fill, because this information must be extracted from a database.

Then type or paste NCR ' in the search box above the list to filter to more relevant areas. When selecting a domain, you can adjust its access permissions in the right pane.

  • History does not and cannot go back to the browser.

After the last update for firefox, it does not work.

He stopped to remember information, when I tap on the top bar, previous search items do not come to the top, there is no history in my story, and when I try to go back a page, I can't it does not allow me to. If for some reason it isn't save data or sites that I go on. He has also deleted all my favorites. So I did a little research download the addon from repair maintenance, tried without success. So I completed a clean-install of firefox, and I'm still stuck with the same question.

Anyone got any ideas? I have always used firefox after a week of trying to figure out what I'm thinking of other browsers, but I don't want to leave! hahaha

  • I disabled all my toolbars and cannot get back them again.

I inadvertently disabled all my toolbars and now don't turn them back on. I can't go to one of my favorites. How can I activate on toolbars when I don't have a toolbar to do?

If you have hidden the menu bar, press Alt or F10, it will temporarily display the bar menu, and then on the view menu, select Toolbars and click on the entrance to the "Menu bar" to permanently display the menu bar.

You can then use view > toolbars to display other toolbars you want.

  • Lost all my shortcuts on the desktop and cannot get back them!

Whenever I turn on my laptop, my living room of shortcuts for a few seconds, when the office, then they disappear forever once that it has finished loading!  This has happened for a few weeks now and I don't know how to fix it.  Also, when I right click on any program and try to send it on the desktop as a shortcut, it does not work, nothing happens! I tried to restore to a couple different points before the last windows update, and that didn't work either.  I also run full antivirus scans, etc & still nothing.  Help please! I want my shortcuts back!

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  I hope you have a point to rstore dating back that far.

If this does not work, go to start / computer / C:\Users\\desktop (and you may also go to C:\Users\All Users\Bureau) and see if they contain elements of your desktop.  If so, copy all files and paste them on your desktop.  You can probably rearrange, but who should return them.

If this does not work, your user profile may be corrupted.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  If that is the only available Administrator Profile (you need to be an administrator to fix this), enable the Hidden Administrator Account (HAA) using http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?&lang=en&cr=US&guid=&sloc=en-us&dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_accounts_passwords&p=1&tid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055&mid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055.  If you don't remember the password, try nothing because that's probably what you (or seller) did during the installation.  Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account).  Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones lost my contacts on the phone and cannot get back them.

My phone has load the other night during a power failure and the morning my contacts and contacts BB disappeared.  These contacts are not lost, because it's my gmail contacts list - but I can't get back them on my phone.  I clicked all the buttons on the sync, but no luck.  I can't manually add a contact and not seeing him.  In the options of the contacts, it says I have 288 contacts associated with my gmail account, and when I manually add one, it goes up by another number.  But - I can't see them anywhere.

Also, I deleted the email account and set up again ensuring the sync box, took out the battery and SIM card and put back and still nothing.  Advice anyone?

  • I lost my documents and settings to windows 7 how folder to restore?

I accidentally deleted my documents and settings folder in popular 7 How do I restore or take another?

    1. check that the Documents & settings is actually deleted, rather than simply hidden from view. Windows Explorer, Union, file & search options, view tab to view hidden folders and clear the Hide protected operating system files [a few lines below the item in the list of hidden folders].

2 - made command prompt right click on the command prompt entry into all programs, accessories, and select run as administrator.

3 - this procedure system restore returns the system files to the State they were at the time of the restore point was created.  But I have never seen a report of anyone removing the Documents & settings before folder so I don't know that the restoration would correct this particular problem.  This comment also applies to running sfc / scannow.

4 new admin - account when I created a new Admin account, all existing programs were available, and it is the behavior, I expect in all cases.  You won't see any desktop shortcuts because they belong to each account, but programs should be in the Start button, all programs lists.  You can get access authorization in the administrator account to access your existing user account & copy from there, desktop shortcuts if you wish but you must a first full backup or your next routine backup of user account will consider each unique as user data file being modified.  After you change the permissions, you can then run [I think you need a command prompt to run as administrator again] attrib - a/s of your folder my documents [check syntax using attrib /?] to reset all the data user file archive bits & therefore prevent everything back up again.

5 reinstaling the OS solve the missing documents & settings folder.  I've seen discussions in this forum about putting on another partition data files, but you will need to pick up this topic because I never paid much attention to it.  Before doing [and this is just speculation], try to run then by saving a file from your older pre-Win7 application to see if Win7 itself can recreate the Documents & Settings folder when an older application that calls a configuration file or a backup procedure.  If it works, it would save you a lot of aggravation.  Alternatively, since the Documents & Settings folder must be called on what using an old pre-Win7 application, if your older application may perform & record properly without it then don't bother doing a re-install at all.

Good luck with everything cela - and once more just to avoid misunderstandings, I've never seen a report on the Documents & Settings folder has been deleted, so I can't give advice without the benefit of a direct experience.

  • Documents and settings. __

    Hi all

This morning, I tried to find my documents and settings on my laptop back, but he wasn't there. A couple of weeks, I've cleaned my laptop a little. (you know, moving from documents, deleting old files, etc.). and I might have accidentally deleted my documents and settings folder. I know it's too late to bring back the old folder but I need to be recreated. I searched the www for a while, but I can't find a good guide. So I'd appreciate some help with this problem.

    Thanks in advance,

    Erik

    Hello

Windows Vista doesn't have a Documents and Settings folder. User accounts are under C:\Users, the old D & S folder you might see it is just meant to be hidden shortcut (called a junction point) which redirects all requests for the path of the file to the new folder C:\Users. It's backward compatibility with software for more alumni who don't use variable (%UserProfile%) but rather are hard-coded in this way. Unless you have the display tab of the set to see hidden files and system folders, you'll see not this 'shortcut' on the root of the system drive.

Hi, can someone sat down. I am compiling a pdf file by inserting several documents and cannot remove specific pages. I used this function on an older version of Adobe Pro but have an editing problem.

Could be that the pdf file is damaged. If you cannot re-create the file in other ways try refrying the PDF by printing to the Adobe Pdf virtual printer pdf.
