Accidentally deleted my administrator account

So I was messing around with a few things and I went on 'Run' and type 'control of useraccounts2' I was using the keyboard instead of the mouse to move and click on stuff and I clicked 'Delete' while my administrator account has been highlighted and I deleted my administrator by accident account.

However, the account I deleted still seems to work for most... I have another administrator account. When I look in the 'user accounts', my other administrator account is still there, and he said that this is an administrator account, so I don't really understand what is happening...
So my question is is there a way to solve this problem and if so, how?
Thank you
Andrew Davis

Hi AndrewDavis64,

·         Have you deleted the account appears on the home screen?

·         If it is, can you login to the account?

I suggest to create a new user account with administrator privileges and check if the problem persists.

If you are unable to open Control Panel to create a new user account and then, try to create this in safe mode.

Create a user account

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account

If the problem is solved by the new user account you may have a corrupted user account, follow the article to fix the damaged user profile.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum.

I understand the inconvenience caused to you. I will certainly help you in this matter.

Can you access a different user account?

In order to fix your computer, we should have an administrator account through which we can perform the appropriate troubleshooting.

If you have the administrator password, boot the computer and enter safe mode with command prompt, this will require the administrator password, enter it.

Mode safe mode with command prompt

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode#1TC=Windows-7

If you are able to access the prompt try to activate the hidden administrator account and create a new administrator account.

    1. At the command prompt, type net user administrator / Active: Yes , then press on ENTER.
    2. Type net user administrator , then press on ENTER. Note: Please replace the tag with your passwords you want to set for the administrator account.
    3. Type exitand press enter.
    4. Restart the computer.

Now, try to create a new Local Administrator account

Once done, you can now disable the build-in the administrator account.

    Follow these steps:

    1. click the button Start , and then type cmd in the search box.

    2. in the list of research results, right click on cmd and then click on Run as Administrator.

    3. at the command prompt, type net user administrator / active: no and then press ENTER.

    4. type net user administrator < password=""> , , and then press on ENTER.

Note: restart the computer to make the changes.

  • I accidentally deleted the administrator account while trying to get rid of administrator privileges - HELP!

I used CommandPrompt to try to rid the administrator privileges for that when I'm on another user account he don't ask me the password, or install all the files that I had the intention of this account to the administrator account. I used the command net user administrator / active: No.

I'm not quite sure if I completely deleted the account or hidden in some way, but now whenever I try to do anything that requires the administrator password (almost everything) I don't even have an opportunity to choose Yes to enter and only the no option I can't change any settings on the computer at all by using a user account This being via CommandPrompt, Panel etc. I'm at a complete loss as what to do.

(Also, if someone was uncertain, the account Administrator is not visible on the screen to connect.)

I used CommandPrompt to try to rid the administrator privileges

-> Order net user administrator / active: No. will do exactly what it says: it allows to disable the administrator account. That is to throw the main key to the safe. Here's how you can reverse this reckless action:
    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Set Windows to a point before you demoted the administrator account.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, even you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

  • Cannot delete the administrator account

    Hello:

I am an administrator in Windows 7 and I cannot delete another account Administrator named 'test '. When I select the "test" account in the management of accounts, I get the list of choices:
Change the name of the account
    Create a password
    Change the image
    Set up Parental controls
    Manage another account.
When I click on my original administrator account, the list of options is:
Change the name of the account
    Change the password
    Remove the password
    Change the image
    Set up Parental controls
    Change account type
    Remove account
    Manage another account
The 'delete account' does not appear in the account of 'test '. So, how can I delete this account 'test '?
    Thanks for any help.
    Alex

The "Test" account was probably the original ' administrator' account until you have renamed it. It cannot be deleted. You can find as follows:

    1. Click on the globe to start, and then type the three letters cmd into the search box and press ENTER.
    2. Type these commands and press ENTER after each:
      net users
(to see a list of all accounts)
      NET user test
(to see all the details for the test account)
Anyway, as one admin account is a bad idea, even than having just a key to the House. What would you do if something was wrong with this single account? At all times, you should have two accounts admin fully tested and documented.
  • How to import old emails having accidentally deleted the email account?

I have deleted my thunderbird e-mail account and now cannot access the mails I received. I'm trying to find them on the computer and import them, but don't know how to do. I use thunderbird on windows 8.1. Any help is appreciated!

If you have deleted the email account, then it is expected that you wouldn't see emails. So there is nothing wrong with this part.

It is possible to recover a deleted account.

If you have an IMAP email account you simply re-create the IMAP account as e-mail messages are stored on the server and IMAP e-mail accounts have a remote view directories on the server.

If you had a Pop e-mail account, e-mail messages are download from the server Inbox for the email account Thunderbird Inbox. By default, they download, and then delete the copy on the server. So now the only copy in your computer. You can set it up so that emails are not deleted from the server. Tools > account settings > server settings for pop mail account Select "Leave messages on the server" click OK

Note: If you have an account and you want to remove it, but you always want to see e-mail messages, you need to move e-mails in local folders first and then delete the account.

How to recover a deleted email account.

This link tells you how to recover the account. But I described the process below.

First check emails exist make hidden folders and files visible:

    In Thunderbird
    Help > troubleshooting information
Click on the view file"" button.

A new window opens to display the your profile folder.
    Click on "Mail".
Click on the name of pop e-mail account (if it does not exist, then they are gone).
Note its name and where it is located. In general: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\profile name\Mail\pop mail account name of the folder.

This will show you all the folders listed as "files", they don't have any extension. Thus, for example: you will see the Inbox (email containing) and Inbox.msf (indexing file - no email).

You can open the Inbox folder using Notepad to see the emails.

Assuming that the account and emails are still there: close the window.

In Thunderbird: Create a new pop e-mail account by using the same parameters as the one you deleted.
File > new > account mail Exisitng

Now to the point the mail account created to use the e-mail account deleted.
Tools > account settings > server to the newly created pop e-mail account settings.
    lower-right look for "local directory".
    Click on the button "Browse".
Locate your original pop email account and click Open
In general it is located here:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\profile folder name\Mail\pop mail account name.

    Click OK

  • How to remove or delete an administrator account?

How can I remove the administrator of a group of users? It's a computer from a company that has a working group and I would like to delete all users and make me the administrator.

IF you remove all users you no ability tp make someone an \admin.  YOU NEED AN ADMIN TO DO AN ADMIN

Other than that we cannot help you bypass the password as it is against the rules of the site

  • Accidentally erase my administrator account what to do.

I remove my account administrator by mistake now into a separate account and hit a new account, the administrator password appears I can not put a password in question, he won't let me at all not even update my computer.

    Try this

  • Delete an administrator account

My system went recently to have added additional material.

Because the technician know not my password, it creates an Admin user account to enter the system and bypass my password protected access.

When I boot, I have now two icons on the desktop - 1 newspapers named Admin and 1 named myself (I had to reset the password).

In Control Panel I show myself as an administrator.

How can I get rid of the unwanted Admin icon on the account admin additional office and not desired/necessary.

I've been in Control Panel > management of accounts but can't find any way to remove this unwanted account.

The technician don't think that this is possible.

    Suggestions welcomed.

The technician knows not of what he speaks.

This forum every day deals with messages from people who, for one reason or another lose their admin level account. I have a lot of trouble understanding: most make sure they have a spare House emergency key, but they fail to apply the same reasoning on their PC. Then, it only takes a single glitch to block them permanently by the window. Happens all the time.
Rather than remove the extra admin account, you should do this:
    1. Change his password.
    2. The test account.
    3. The document of its details.
    4. Optionally, automate the process of logging so that you don't need to click on the usual account and enter its password.
