  • Accidentally deleted my administrator account

So I was messing around with a few things and I went on 'Run' and type 'control of useraccounts2' I was using the keyboard instead of the mouse to move and click on stuff and I clicked 'Delete' while my administrator account has been highlighted and I deleted my administrator by accident account.

However, the account I deleted still seems to work for most... I have another administrator account. When I look in the 'user accounts', my other administrator account is still there, and he said that this is an administrator account, so I don't really understand what is happening...
So my question is is there a way to solve this problem and if so, how?
    Thank you
    Andrew Davis

    Hi AndrewDavis64,

    ·         Have you deleted the account appears on the home screen?

    ·         If it is, can you login to the account?

I suggest to create a new user account with administrator privileges and check if the problem persists.

If you are unable to open Control Panel to create a new user account and then, try to create this in safe mode.

    Create a user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account

If the problem is solved by the new user account you may have a corrupted user account, follow the article to fix the damaged user profile.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum.

I understand the inconvenience caused to you. I will certainly help you in this matter.

Can you access a different user account?

In order to fix your computer, we should have an administrator account through which we can perform the appropriate troubleshooting.

If you have the administrator password, boot the computer and enter safe mode with command prompt, this will require the administrator password, enter it.

Mode safe mode with command prompt

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode#1TC=Windows-7

If you are able to access the prompt try to activate the hidden administrator account and create a new administrator account.

    1. At the command prompt, type net user administrator / Active: Yes , then press on ENTER.
    2. Type net user administrator , then press on ENTER. Note: Please replace the tag with your passwords you want to set for the administrator account.
    3. Type exitand press enter.
    4. Restart the computer.

Now, try to create a new Local Administrator account

Once done, you can now disable the build-in the administrator account.

    Follow these steps:

    1. click the button Start , and then type cmd in the search box.

    2. in the list of research results, right click on cmd and then click on Run as Administrator.

    3. at the command prompt, type net user administrator / active: no and then press ENTER.

    4. type net user administrator < password=""> , , and then press on ENTER.

Note: restart the computer to make the changes.

  • I accidentally deleted the administrator account while trying to get rid of administrator privileges - HELP!

I used CommandPrompt to try to rid the administrator privileges for that when I'm on another user account he don't ask me the password, or install all the files that I had the intention of this account to the administrator account. I used the command net user administrator / active: No.

I'm not quite sure if I completely deleted the account or hidden in some way, but now whenever I try to do anything that requires the administrator password (almost everything) I don't even have an opportunity to choose Yes to enter and only the no option I can't change any settings on the computer at all by using a user account This being via CommandPrompt, Panel etc. I'm at a complete loss as what to do.

(Also, if someone was uncertain, the account Administrator is not visible on the screen to connect.)

I used CommandPrompt to try to rid the administrator privileges

-> Order net user administrator / active: No. will do exactly what it says: it allows to disable the administrator account. That is to throw the main key to the safe. Here's how you can reverse this reckless action:
    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Set Windows to a point before you demoted the administrator account.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, even you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

    Hi desmondlau,

    ·         Did you completely remove the account?

    ·         Do you have any other user account on the computer?

    ·         If so, is that a Director or a limited account?

    Try the following.

Step 1: Try to start in safe mode. Check if you can login as administrator.

Step 2: If you are able to connect, and then create a new administrator account and other changes. Restart the computer in normal mode to see if you can connect.

How to restore an Administrators account that was accidentally deleted before the creation of the new Administrators account?  Windows XP

I have another account directors, but it changed right before user privileges.

Windows Xp has a default Administrator account that are visible only in safe mode when a new admin account has been created. Cannot delete the administrator account by default no matter what you do. When you remove a user, and then you get these options on the screen:

    (a) delete files
    (b) keep the files
    (c) cancel

If you have selected a) then the files are well and truly gone. I'm sorry. However, if you selected option b) then you will be able to see the profile in C:\Users folder.

Restart the computer in Safe Mode. When you are prompted to choose an account select administrator. Re-create the user profile.

  • I'm unable to access my administrator account. What should I do?

I'm unable to access my administrator account. I accidentally downgraded two other accounts that I had standards. The account that remains an administrator is only a back-up, and the password it's forgotten. I tried repeatedly to enter the passwords I have used before and it didn't work.

I tried several methods, including the run as administrator command line, but it says that my access has been denied. I can't go into Safe Mode, either. My laptop makes one beep when I press F8 during the restart. I can't download software to help me. I am unable to run most of the system, including System Restoresettings. My laptop is Windows 7 Home Premium, model Lenovo idea Pad N585.

Is this what can I do to become an administrator? It would be very much appreciated if someone could help me solve this problem. I'll provide more details if they are needed.

    Here you go:

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your system repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the CD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Set Windows to a point before you downgraded your admin accounts.

If you do not have a CD to repair system, then you will need to ask a friend to burn you through the control panel / backup and restore.

P.S. A spare admin account is a great idea. Use for experiments, for example in downshifting, is doomed to failure.
