Cannot delete the administrator account

Hello:

I am an administrator in Windows 7 and I cannot delete another account Administrator named 'test '. When I select the "test" account in the management of accounts, I get the list of choices:
Change the name of the account
Create a password
Change the image
Set up Parental controls
Manage another account.
When I click on my original administrator account, the list of options is:
Change the name of the account
Change the password
Remove the password
Change the image
Set up Parental controls
Change account type
Remove account
Manage another account
The 'delete account' does not appear in the account of 'test '. So, how can I delete this account 'test '?
Thanks for any help.
Alex

The "Test" account was probably the original ' administrator' account until you have renamed it. It cannot be deleted. You can find as follows:

  1. Click on the globe to start, and then type the three letters cmd into the search box and press ENTER.
  2. Type these commands and press ENTER after each:
    net users
(to see a list of all accounts)
    NET user test
(to see all the details for the test account)
Anyway, as one admin account is a bad idea, even than having just a key to the House. What would you do if something was wrong with this single account? At all times, you should have two accounts admin fully tested and documented.

If you are able to access the prompt try to activate the hidden administrator account and create a new administrator account.

    1. At the command prompt, type net user administrator / Active: Yes , then press on ENTER.
    2. Type net user administrator , then press on ENTER. Note: Please replace the tag with your passwords you want to set for the administrator account.

    ·         You have access to any account of admin rights?

    ·         How have you removed from the administrator account?

    ·         What operating system is it (windows vista or windows 7)?

For now, try the following steps:

To activate built to the administrator account in windows vista or windows 7 you must connect to all the account administrator rights and perform these steps

    1) click Start and type cmd.exe

    (2) in programs, right-click on command prompt and click run as administrator

    (3) in the command prompt, type net user administrator / Active: Yes

  • Impossible to remove an unknown account, get the error 'cannot delete the unknown account because this object inherits permissions from its parent.

I have several programs that when I go to security there is an unknown account and when I try to delete unknown account I get this message that you cannot delete the Unknown(S-1...) account because this object inherits from its parent perssions. To delete the Unknown(S-1...) account, you must prevent this object from inheriting permissions. Turn off the option for the inheritance of permissions and then try to delete the Unknown(S-1...) account again. I tried the edit and advance features in respect of security without success. Why have I not control over security permissions?

Found a solution to this problem.

Go to the folder parent of the folder that contains the files with this unknown account number:
    1. right click on the PARENT folder, and then click Properties.
    2. on the Security tab, go to the advanced options (bottom window)
    3. in the new window, click the button change the permissions in the bottom.
    4. Select the Group (NOT AUTHENTICATED, just of users USERS) users
    5. check "replace all permissions of child object with permissions inheritable of this object.
    6. click on the OK button or apply and done, fixed number.

Hope this helps anyone else having this problem, for me it happened after reinstallation of win 7 on the same machine and keep my images on another partition, so it was spared by the new facility, so the old user account was always on the file permissions.

I used CommandPrompt to try to rid the administrator privileges for that when I'm on another user account he don't ask me the password, or install all the files that I had the intention of this account to the administrator account. I used the command net user administrator / active: No.

I'm not quite sure if I completely deleted the account or hidden in some way, but now whenever I try to do anything that requires the administrator password (almost everything) I don't even have an opportunity to choose Yes to enter and only the no option I can't change any settings on the computer at all by using a user account This being via CommandPrompt, Panel etc. I'm at a complete loss as what to do.

(Also, if someone was uncertain, the account Administrator is not visible on the screen to connect.)

I used CommandPrompt to try to rid the administrator privileges

-> Order net user administrator / active: No. will do exactly what it says: it allows to disable the administrator account. That is to throw the main key to the safe. Here's how you can reverse this reckless action:
    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Set Windows to a point before you demoted the administrator account.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, even you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

You cannot use a Standard (Local) account to change the administrator account. You can only use an administrator for this account.

In Control Panel, select user accounts.

    Select Manage another account.

This will show all the user accounts on the computer. If there is an administrator account, it will show this designation.

To log off and log on with an administrator account.

Back to the account user/screen control.

Select Manage another account , then select the Standard account you want to change.

Select the option Change the account Type .

  • BlackBerry 10 cannot delete the email account (unauthenticated) / cannot authenticate the email account with different servers SMTP and IMAP (a gmail)

After updating the OS on my last night in 10.1.0.4181 Z10 (software) / 4633 (OS), all my accounts set up asked for credentials must be verified. Looks like now that it uses some sort of mechanism of OAuth - worked well for my Gmail accounts with two-factor auth.

One of my accounts that I have Gmail as IMAP server (using a regular gmail.com account), but another SMTP server, with the address on a different domain. I use Gmail as my email client, basically.

After the upgrade, I am prompted to authenticate, but at some point, someone on my domain set up Google Apps. Has never been for nothing. I wonder to enter * that * password via Google. I don't, and this is NOT the account that I'm trying to connect. (I want a server with user name [email protected] gmail.com IMAP and SMTP [email protected]).

So I'm stuck... can not authenticate.

Even worse: Also, I can not delete the account! Delete option is not available until after you have again authenticated. Because I can not delete the account, I can't try to add it again separately - I get an error indicating that the account is already configured.

All options except wait for the next update of OS or do a wipe/restore?

(Wipe/restore is really not an option for me, it takes several hours, and the last time I was forced to restore, I lost a good amount of data that I then had to enter manually in restoring to my old 9790 and then it tapping on my Z10.) Not to take this risk again).

    Try this:

Open an e-mail account with the same account information and email address, but as a pop account to synchronize the account. Both accounts now appear in a new sub-account. Now you can remove the two accounts together. It worked for me...

  • I have Windows 7 and cannot access the administrator account

I am unable to enter my administrator account because I accidentally put the wrong password in place.  I don't remember to save my life.  Unfortunately, I do not have a disk or anything else as a backup so I don't know what my other options would be.

I really, really need to access my photos and files from the admin account.  Is it possible that I can recover?  Help, please!

We will put your computing experience on a more solid basis as follows:

    • A Windows repair CD is absolutely essential if you decide to do maintenance on your own PC. It takes only three minutes to burn a via the control panel / backup and restore. Given that you have never created one before, you now have these options:
      -Burn it on another computer.
      -Borrow one from a friend.
      -Buy one here: http://systemdiscs.com/
    • Start dieting solid backup on an external device. With your valuable photos right on your PC takes a lot of unnecessary risks.
    • Create, test, and document an alternative admin account, as you have a spare House key. It takes less than a minute.

When you have your CD to repair Windows, then you can solve your current problem as follows:

    7. Configure Windows to a point before you changed the password.

  • Could not locate the administrator account

I recently added several "standard user accounts" to my computer, but last night after cutting one of the additional accounts, I realized that my administrator account was not long on the list of accounts. I don't think I have deleted or renamed it accidentally, but I can't find it on my computer. There are important files that have been registered under this account that I can't access now. Help, please.

    Hi MsTiaLatrice,

Try the following steps to cross check whether or not the user administrator account exists on the computer.
Step 1: Control user name accounts and their type of account on the computer
    a. click the Start button, select Control Panel and click user accounts and family safety.
    b. click on user accounts, and then click on manage another account.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    c. you should see a list of user accounts with user name and account type which is administrator or standard user account.
    d. include the name of the administrator user account and restart the computer to connect to the admin account.

Note: You can rename the user account, but cannot delete the user account by logging in on the same user account. If you deleted the user by logging admin account to the other admin account, then much can do anything. However if you had saved the files before you delete the user account, then you can search for files to check if they exist.

Step 2: Search for files from the user to see if they exist
see Tips for finding files .

  • Cannot delete the account of a user with administrator rights

I want to remove a user who has administrator rights account.  Win XP machine has two users (Administrator and a user name) that both are of type of administrator account.

I you as an administrator and should be able to change the other named to Limited user account, but for Limited is greyed out.  The option to delete the named account is not present.

How can I delete this account, leaving only administrator?

Often, I find that using the command line commands gives errors better when you can not do something.  Try the following:

    o bring a window prompt (start-> Run-> "cmd")

o enter the following command in the window:

    net localgroup administrators

o that it must return a list of all users with administrator privileges.  You should see the built-in user 'Administrator' and your other user (assuming that both have administrator privileges).  To remove administrator privileges from the user (assuming that this another username is "Joe"), then enter the following command:

    net localgroup administrators Joe/remove

If this is not possible, an error no doubt will provide you with enough information.
