  You cannot install Defender in Vista; It is already part of the Vista operating system.

  Read about Defender:

  You will now see a menu 'dual boot '. You must delete the partition that contains the second (accidental) copy of Windows, then you need to remove the second entry in the start menu.

  Install EasyBCD and then run it. Once EasyBCD works click on the option change Boot Menu. Remove the operating system menu option that you accidentally installed (before doing this, it is best to bring the right one by checking the way in which they appear in the dual boot menu) and then click Save changes. Now, quit EasyBCD and restart your PC. You should now boot directly to your original operating system and the dual boot menu should be gone.

  We bought this PC just 2 weeks, and it came with Windows 10. My father disliked windows 10 so it has installed windows 8 from a disc installation and now internet no longer works. The internet went through Ethernet cable direct to the modem. I have reset the modem, but it is not getting an IP address assigned to the NIC card. I tried to force an IP address to be assigned, but it still does not work.

  How can go back us to windows 10? I tried HP restore, but it only shows options for windows 8.

  Since Win8 is out, embedded OEMs their product keys in the UEFI firmware on motherboard - and stopped including print on stickers on the PC.

  You can reinstall Win10 by install media from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

  Because your PC is already registered for Win10, if you get a window asking for a product key, just choose the option to ignore that.

  After Win10 is re-installed and connect you to the Internet, the PC will be automatically reactivated.
