account is defined as an administrator of the computer, but behaves as a limited account

I have my account set as an administrator of the computer, but I can't do ANYTHING. I get an error message. I can't make changes to my desktop or add or remove programs or update windows, etc, etc... Help!

OK, that's fine.

for some reason, it seems that problems like yours have been particularly widespread in the last month, and the cause is unknown.

in any case, what you can do is to try and install a free booty called profile utility cleaner.   I don't know if it can solve the problem, but its worth a try and will not harm your system otherwirse.

Another thing you can do is to copy your shortcuts to the original admin account in your new thereafter.

However, this technique requires some precautions to make sure that only shortcuts are copied.    There is a possibility that "maybe" something got installed on your computer and the corrupt program this admin account.

This occurs with poorly written programs install the program files on the desktop and your administrator account, instead of the c:\program files.

When you loan to the above process, let know us and we can walk you through it.

Firefox is loaded on a dell Windows XP computer; It works fine one day. The next day I had cleaned up cookies and temporary files when I clicked on the icon, it acted like it was running, but would never appear on the screen. • (Windows 32-bit) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    • (On 64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
    1. Go to the Windows Start menu and click on 'computer '.
    2. In the Explorer window that opens, double-click on disk Local (c) to open the C:\ drive.
    3. Find the folder "Program Files (x 86)" or "Program Files".
      • On 32-bit Windows, double-click the Program Files folder to open it.
      • On 64-bit Windows, you'll see a folder "Program Files (x 86)" AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the Program Files (x 86) folder.
    4. You are looking for a folder of Mozilla Firefox . If you find one, right click and select delete and confirm that you want to move the folder to the trash.

Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:

    1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.

You should be able to move your cursor to the top of the screen and the menu bar will fall.  So, you start with

Drag the slider to the top of the screen against the edge and hold that and you should see

Click the button of "green".  This should take you out of mode full-screen Mail.

Command + control + F should do it too.

Also when you have the cursor at the top of the screen and the menu bar comes down, you could also use Mail-> view-> full screen output

You should also be able to use the command + Tab to switch to another application

  • HP Officejet 6500 Paper Out status on the computer but the paper loaded and test page prints

We have a HP 6500 CB815A, which works well for almost a year. As of today, we get "Paper Out" status on the computer, but there is paper loaded in the tray... the same high quality paper as we always use. The test printer utility reports the same status. However, the printer can print a test page and fax without printing problem status.

I unplugged for 30 seconds to reset, but we get the same status.

Someone has had this same problem and solved?

    Thank you

If you have not tried to reboot your PC, I would. If this does not clear the issue, I would follow the following steps:

    1. Click Start-> Control Panel
    2. Select uninstall a program (it's the heading programs)
    3. Find your driver HP software; Select it by clicking on it once, then select Edit. If the change is not available, select uninstall/change.
    4. Select repair and then follow the prompts for your software repairs itself.
    5. If your software does not have the repair option, it may be advisable to download the latest drivers from support.hp.com site. Uninstall the drivers for your printer, and then reinstall them using.

If these steps do not work, please post and I can continue further with troubleshooting.

    Good luck

    Hello Tallydupp, welcome.

Do you by chance have Google Desktop? Some users have reported interference problems in Winodws 7 while using an older version of Google Desktop.
Try to uninstall it if it exists.

  • CD/DVD is recognized by the computer, but does not

My CD/DVD is recognized by the computer, but does not... tried fix it did not help

My CD/DVD drive has stopped working.  My computer recognizes the drive but when I put a disk in it cannot read.  I tried multiple disks, but nothing will work.  I tried microsoft fixit, but it does not work.  He said that the media cd/DVD drive is not readable.  Help, please.

Is that your CD/DVD drive is older than 1 year?  Then, the drive may be defective, with a faulty lens.

I don't think that any form of manual registry change or fix tool will work in the situation.
