ACER Aspire 5542 G recovery disk 3?

This is the first time I want to do a clean install (ACER Aspire 5542 G).

Immediately I created recovery disks, but the only option was to create 2 discs.

Now, during the installation process, a third disc of recovery is necessary.

How can I solve this problem?

The only thing I can tell you at this point is to start the recovery using these instructions:

http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

If it does not all recovery disks, then you need to use the hidden partition on the hard drive. If this does not work, the only other way to solve this problem is to purchace to http://store.acer.comrecovery disks. I hope this helps.

  • New portable printer HP2540/301 Acer Aspire 1 has no disk drive and a silly user. Help, please...

    I bought myself a nice 5240 again 301 printer all-in-on Wednesday.

Since then, I have made that fight with him since then.

My laptop is an Acer Aspire one, one of the smallest, which unfortunately doesn't have a hard drive in it. My first thought went to download drivers. The web page did not work and I realized then, that, without the user manual (which I think is on the disc), I'm totally lost.

If someone could please help me.

I made an impression that says.

Check your network printer name HP (SSID) corresponds exactly to your router (SSID) wireless network name.

If they do not exactly match, run set up the printer software to set up your HP printer wireless.

I guess that's the software on the drive. Is it possible to download the software online?

Any help would be accepted with gratitude that I have no idea what I'm doing atm. I just starting to learn how to properly use Windows 8 atm, so far my computer all skills hass been how to open a browser and an office.

    Thank you.

I would add also, I downloaded the application too, but which does not recognize that there is a printer at all.

I have two Acer Aspire laptops.  They are totally frozen because of the virus.
I lost the recovery of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition disc, where to get a replacement.
I have to rebuild my laptop.

    Hello

No - what are the two Acers come with a recovery disk?

If this is not the case, one of them would have a recovery partion, which specifically is to reinstall the operating system on it.

With an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process.

All data are lost when you do the above.

And for the lost disc, contact Acer and ask them to send you recovery disks.

They do that for a small fee:

    http://us-store.Acer.com/RCD/

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

  • Acer Aspire V3 772 G BIOS grayed out

    Hello
I have a laptop Acer Aspire V3 (model G 772-9643), Acer sent me the recovery disks for. The first two steps they registered on the included sheet was to insert the disc labeled "System drive", then reboot and press F12 to get into the boot menu.

When F12 has not worked for me, I went into the BIOS with F2 and discovered that F12 Boot has been disabled. I tried to go down with the arrow, but couldn't. All the options are greyed out, even on the other sections in the menu of the BIOS. Time and date system were virtually the only things not greyed out. Until I have enable F12 I can not change the order of boot on CD/DVD and cannot start the process of recovery with Acer discs, so I'm completely stuck now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's urgent because I really need this laptop for the school that has already started. The laptop is very expensive, it is important that I try to repair rather than buy a new one.

Thanks in advance for any help

If you already save and exit the BIOS, enter the BIOS again and check if the options are still grayed out.

  • How can I get a valid Windows Vista Home Premium product key for my Acer Aspire 5050?

My hard drive failed in my Acer Aspire 5050.  Replaced, reinstalled Windows Vista Home Premium with the appropriate product key, but Microsoft says that it is invalid.  Microsoft wants to buy me a new copy of Windows & there is no available from Acer for my laptop recovery disk.  What can I do?

The product key on the bottom of the laptop is an OEM product key.  This product key does not work for the commercial versions of the operating system.  The original shipping charge might work on the system without entering a product key.

If you did not, or are no longer able to get the recovery media, you will have to buy an operating system of your choice for the installation.

  • Need recovery disks

I need the recovery disc for desktop Aspire T180 with Vista Home Basic.  The owner has lost or did not have his own records and the software does not work. If there is a recovery partition it no longer works. The site says "no available for the serial number entered the RCD.  How can I recover this system?

This machine is older than my Acer I bought in 2009 and I have "No available for the serial number entered RCD" when my snid is entered as.  I hope this is a mistake.  Help, please.

Sorry if I have not clear myself, but I already did.  In fact, I entered the snid for the machine that I am actually MORE I entered the snid for my own desktop Acer (4 years) and to get the statement "not available for the serial number entered the RCD. I entered two serial numbers, thus, get the same thing.

So I decided to call Acer.  Said that the machine is longer than 3 years so, Acer does NOT PROVIDE RECOVERY DISKS for MACHINES above 3 YEARS.  Can you believe that?  99% of the machines that I am working on are Vista and those NOT an owner makes these recovery disks.  And more than the recovery partition (if it exists) does not work. I followed the instructions I found online here and can't make it work.  (Most but not all I recovery partition a rememer that did the work-Acer brand).

I work on computers because I like it. And for this reason friends ask me what to buy when they are ready. I often recommend Acer.  I own two myself. But no more. I will not buy or recommend them if the owners can not even buy the Acer recovery disks. Acer is basically saying that there is NO support beyond three years (outside of these forums).

I can, however, buy the ACER contest any recovery discs.  One of the major manufacturers GIVES them to you!  The other main manufacturer sells for a few dollars.

Shame on the ACER.  It is no possible to treat your customers.

  • Satellite C650 - error reading disk and the recovery disk does not work

    Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite C650, who has recently developed with a disc read error. I want to access the command prompt to try some possible solutions I've read on the internet.

I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other acer laptop which has also installed Windows 7 64-bit. When I use the recovery disk and it loaded the files etc it evokes just a black screen and the cursor.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
I tried to start my computer acer laptop from the recovery disk and it worked fine.

As is - this does anyone have suggestions as to why I get the message "disk read error - press ctrl, alt and delete to restart?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis, but of course, there must be a problem with the HARD drive. Can you get a second one for test purposes and exchange it. Just to be sure if the HDD is troublemaker.

    But there is something else:
    > I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other computer acer laptop...
Sorry, but I don t understand this. Can you please explain what you did exactly?

  • Question about upgrading to the Aspire 5542-1462

I wanted to improve my Aspire 5542-1462 memory from 4 GB to 8 GB, but I was told that since my Aspire 5542-1462 has two locations of memory with cards of 2 GB each and the PC can handle 4 GB, my PC is not expandable memory to 8 GB is it true? And how can I upgrade the RAM or the HARD DRIVE if possible, thanks in advance http://www.cnet.com/laptops/acer-aspire-5542-1462/4505-3121_7-33895355.html < with="" 2="" memory="">

I'm afraid that it seems that you are correct, at least as much as I can tell from my research (fast).  The alternative is to reduce the amount of memory that uses the operating system, including the essential utilities (such as the antivirus/anti-spyware), stop programs and services running in the background that you don't need and so on.  There is a lot of information on the internet about optimizing Windows.

    Good luck!

  • Acer Aspire M5 w/Windows 8 - e recovery system disk does not start

My M5 of Acer one-year-old has failed and now I have a blue screen that says "the Boot Configuration data file is missing some required information, File: \BCD, error code: 0xc000000d.» I ordered an e recovery disk that was supposed to solve the problem. The instructions say "Insert system disk labeled disk," "restart the computer and press F12...» "When I do this, the tracks of the disk of the system for a minute or two, stops, and a minute later the laptop stops. I don't think the system disk is accessible to all. My Acer is two months out of warranty... it's so frustrating. The advice is much appreciated!

Just an update... Blayn was very helpful and directed me to the Acer support. The problem has been resolved by directing the bios to boot from the hard drive instead of the hard drive. It was a little difficult to achieve... I couldn't have done it without the excellent guidance and support from Acer. My Acer has worked very well since, and I appreciate help in this forum!

    1. on the Acer splash screen, you can press Alt and F10 (at the same time press F2 to enter the BIOS) to make it appear a version BACK style eRecovery.

    ·        The unit is able to reload Windows from this mode faster then CD.

    ·        The default password is 000000 (6 zeros) and it is shown when you are prompted for the password.

    ·        Users are able to change the password in this mode for eRecovery only.

    ·        The system can retrieve the hidden on the hard disk (partition PQService) image or a CD/DVD media.

    ·        It is possible to reload the factory CD/DVD style or snapshots that creates the eRecovery Windows version.

    2. in Windows, there are 3 ways to access eRecovery functionality.

    ·        Press Alt and F10

    ·        Open Acer eManager and then double-click eRecovery.

    ·        When a system is new it should automatically open this application and invite you to do the recovery media.

    3. the Windows version of the eRecovery program is stronger then the Dos Version. Below you will find the various features of the Windows version:

Recovery settings: create backup files and change password

    ·        Picture of the backup snapshot (create a disk image of your system configuration)

    1. the system is able to make a CD/DVD image of the current state of mobile software including customer programs installed.

    ·        When reinstalling from the CD/DVD's you will lose the eRecovery program but the DOS version can still function, as if uninstalled, you can not reinstall.

    ·        eRecovery uses Ghost (as well as the use of our recovery CD) to create snapshot images.

    ·        If the PQService partition is removed using fdisk or a utility under Windows, you may need to reinstall Windows.

    ·        If the system is recharged using the DOS version you retain the eRecovery feature

  • Recovery Acer Aspire V3 disc question

    Hello

Recently, I used a set of recovery disks on my Acer Aspire V3 because I had problems starting Windows. I am currently using this laptop and it's incredibly slow well only barely nothing installed on it. That, as well as other issues lead me to believe that the hard drive has failed.

My question is, if I replace the hard drive with a new hard drive, I just bought at Best Buy (same size, 1 TB), the recovery disks still work? Is that all I have to do beforehand to operate?

Just swap the drives and use your recovery media, nothing else.

  • Acer recovery disks do not install Windows 7 on a new hard drive SSD

    Hi all!

I have Ace Aspire 5742 G laptop and I have problems to install the Windows 7 operating system on my new hard drive SSD (I bought the SSD because the original hard drive is defect and do all the time... blue screens)

For the factory restore, I use the restore disks. I burned the discs a few years back when the laptop has insisted me to do (using eRecovery or something, in total 3 dvds).

Testing of computer to install the operating system with the DVD (asked to insert a dvd and then press a key). The real problem is that the installer will just in loops, restart and eventuallyfreezing in the end...

    Restart--> Acer--> Windows logo takes over... files-> from windows-> reboot-> etc.

Which continued for more than an hour (on the first dvd!) and all of a sudden that it froze right on screen "starting windows..." I had to restart and stars on again once.

I can still use my old formatted HARD drive, should I do the new set of recovery disks or use a USB?

Thanks for the answers in advance!

I was not able to edit my previous post, so I'll make a new...

So I thought (with the help of Google) that the problem was that I had installed the new DDR3 memory game. When I changed them back to the original ones (2x2gb) everything worked smoothly.

    anyway. Thanks for the help!

Maybe you can buy the recovery media factory to your Acer store. As an old OS, I think that it shouldn't be available.
