  • Questions about the Acer Aspire Switch 10 guarantee

    Hello

I am very interested and very probably going to go ahead with a purchase of the Acer Aspire Switch 10 but I have a few questions. As the device is not currently available in Australia my plan is either:

    (A) choose one of these devices to the top when I visited the United States in two weeks

    Or

    (B) order now (of the United States) and delivered it here, so it comes at the time wherever I'm back from my trip.

So my main question is, as I have seen many different people having the same problem here with no apparent difficulty, if I made the purchase would I covered by warranty? I think that one would see me covered by the guarantee of international travelers, but it is not very clear. The second option would be local warranty (United States), is that correct? So if I had a problem I have to send it to the United States (at my expense)? Or should it be mentioned here in Australia? And finally, if a problem arises here, local service center (located in Sydney) acer would be able to solve the problem or find a replacement model, even if I have to pay a fee?

Thanks for the help, I am completely impressed with the device for what it is, I don't want to be stuck with a dud and know I am not covered by the warranty after I come back home (Australia) or when it arrives.

A traveler warranty Acer is designed so that if you buy a product, then travel outside your country up to 90 days, you can get service while you travel. Because you live in Australia and be buying abroad and return home, that you would classify not as a traveller in good faith. You can read all of the terms and conditions in http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/itw.htm.

The warranty for a product purchased in the United States would need to be repaired in the United States. Unfortunately, you would be responsible for the shipping of the product to the United States for repair, and we can only ship to an address in the United States, so you have to send it to someone in the States who may transmit the packet.

Regarding if the deposit of Australian repair can repair the product, it would be up to their discression regarding if an ITW applies and if they are able to get the parts of the system. It is recommended that any warranty service needed on a purchased product, to be in the country of the initial sale.

  • Acer Aspire V3 772 G BIOS grayed out

    Hello
I have a laptop Acer Aspire V3 (model G 772-9643), Acer sent me the recovery disks for. The first two steps they registered on the included sheet was to insert the disc labeled "System drive", then reboot and press F12 to get into the boot menu.

When F12 has not worked for me, I went into the BIOS with F2 and discovered that F12 Boot has been disabled. I tried to go down with the arrow, but couldn't. All the options are greyed out, even on the other sections in the menu of the BIOS. Time and date system were virtually the only things not greyed out. Until I have enable F12 I can not change the order of boot on CD/DVD and cannot start the process of recovery with Acer discs, so I'm completely stuck now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's urgent because I really need this laptop for the school that has already started. The laptop is very expensive, it is important that I try to repair rather than buy a new one.

Thanks in advance for any help

If you already save and exit the BIOS, enter the BIOS again and check if the options are still grayed out.

  • Recovery Acer Aspire V3 disc question

    Hello

Recently, I used a set of recovery disks on my Acer Aspire V3 because I had problems starting Windows. I am currently using this laptop and it's incredibly slow well only barely nothing installed on it. That, as well as other issues lead me to believe that the hard drive has failed.

My question is, if I replace the hard drive with a new hard drive, I just bought at Best Buy (same size, 1 TB), the recovery disks still work? Is that all I have to do beforehand to operate?

Just swap the drives and use your recovery media, nothing else.

  • Acer Aspire 6930 no screen, not even on external monitor

One of my clients gave me an Acer Aspire 6930. He said that he was looking at internet porn and he got a message that he had to pay $300.00 to unlock his PC and it stopped on him (see the ice virus?). When I tried to bring up the laptop I have nothing on the screen to indicate to all life. But the disks rotate. I tried to boot from a Windows XP disk and still nothing on the screen. I tried FN + F3 and FN + F5, FN + F6 to no vail. I tried video routing using a HDMI cable and by repeating steps and received a 'no signal' on the external monitor and I tried the same process using a VGA cable for the external monitor and still "no signal". I tried to Flash the bios with a modded one since I don't know how to seprate the exe of the bios with insertng hex editor the usb flash drive and pressing the FN + ESC, and then press the power button and now the keys FN + ESC 5 additional seconds. I am now completely at a loss and could use very little help.

    Thank you

Definitely one of our best posts.

I'm sure you already said your customer to upgrade its anti-virus software and stay out of the porn sites.

  • What external optical drives are compatible with the Acer Aspire One with Windows 7 Home Premium 722

What external optical drives are compatible with the Acer Aspire One 722 with Windows 7 Home Premium OS.  I need to make the backup disks and install the CD software.

    Thank you.

More external ODD will work just make sure it's an external power source. This allows not to take a lot of power to the unit.

  • Acer aspire ES1-111 questions

    Hi all

I decided to enroll in this community to get some tips and reviews the problems I am experiencing with this laptop. I own an Acer Aspire ES1-111 I bought a week ago.

Since its first configuration, I noticed problems using it with windows 8.1 (its native operating system). For example, touchpad or keyboard not working not properly and, especially, shutdown problems. In this case specific I could never stop the device correctly, because he remained with the power indicator which continued into 'works' although it seems that the system is freezed was arrested. However, in order to really stop I had to press the power button / stop.

First of all, I decided to reset the system with built-in software eRecovery but problems remain.

Secondly, I decided to do a clean install of the operating system and I tried the two Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. In both cases, installation process complete without problems, but when you try to install all the drivers, I experienced freezes and once again the shutdown problems. I followed an order to install drivers (Chipset first, only VGA, etc), but in most cases, I had problems of supra. I also tried to disable "Fast start (recommended) turn" without success.

But now comes the strange part.

I finally decided to give it a try for Windows 7 and, to my surprise, everything works fine! I was able to install the drivers correctly and to stop or restart my laptop without a problem. Now I use Windows 7, but, as it is under warranty, I would ask you what you think of this questions.

I find it quite strange that a laptop does not properly with its native operating system but it is very good with an older operating system! Do you think I should send to Acer support or ask to change it (although, I don't know if I'm still able to pursue this second option).

    Thanks for your attention!

    MIC

I think I found the reason why I was unable to run Windows 8.1 smoothly after a new installation. I tried to install it during the configuration of the Bios in LEGACY mode, which is good for the BONES before Windows 8 (like Windows 7, as it was working perfectly) but not for Windows 8/8.1 as it probably some issue when install drivers etc.

So I decided to reset the Bios original UEFI mode. It was the right decision. Not only touchpad was recognized well when loading the USB bootable (expecially since the Touchpad has been on "Advanced", which in legacy mode, would not work), but also because, when the operating system installation process has been completed, I was able to install all the drivers hardware properly and stop/restart of operations fully worked without problems / freezes and so on.

Hope this information is useful for other users.

  • Acer Aspire One Internet questions (Please HELP)

    Hey guys!

I recently bought an Acer Aspire One netbook for school. The computer is just amazing in every way, shape and form - outside the horribly slow and buggy internet. Regardless of my connection or the browser, I have problems such as limited connections insane, usually internet slow speed and all disconnections that occur without reason. If I disconnect and reconnect to the network even after a question given, however, it works very well for the next thirty-or-so minutes, and I encounter the problem again. I noticed that if I closed the computer at a given time, open it and use the internet, these issues seem to be more important. Restarting the computer seems to temporarily solve the problem for a decent time period, but I have to restart the computer several times during a period of use, which is very inconvenient and frustrating. Due to the fact that my school is entirely internet-based, these issues (that occur whenever I use the computer, by the way) become ridiculously boring. Anyone who suffers these problems? Is it possible to fix this?

(Disclaimer: I studied the problem and saw that there was a 'feature' that slows down the speed of the internet to save the battery, which can be disabled in the settings.) However, after doing this, these issues continue to persist.)

    ~ JF

    Thanks for the help, everyone.

  • Acer Aspire 772-9829: Probable overheating

    Hello, people.  I need help.

I bought my Acer Aspire 7726-9829 in August 2013 and have had no problems at all until a week and a half.  During the execution of the games, it seems that my computer heats up and affected by a hardware failure. (This only happens when you run games.  Browsing the web or watching movies does not cause the problem.)

At first I thought that it would be power settings, so I picked up a new power supply and set up my computer to 'high performance '. (Which fixed the problems of minor cutting.  The graphics now work perfectly for about five to ten minutes before the computer crashes.)

Can someone in the community point me to resources for the purchase and installation of a replacement for this model fan?  I ' ve already bought a cooling package, which I hope will be enough to solve the problem. "  The thing is, I love this computer a little and do not want to sell it, so hopefully as a member of the community can help me with this information.

    Thank you!

Okay, based on your suggestions and those of a few friends, I did a couple of things.  I used a can of air for the dust from the vents and upgraded to Windows 8.1.

And, to not jump the gun, but I played an hour of Batman: Arkham origins without accidents, it seems this has helped.  My temperature maxing out at 77 and runs between 35 and 45 degrees when normal activities.  According to monitoring RealTemp, my thermal status is correct.

I'll keep this thread in my favorites as I met other problems.  Thanks for the help.

  • Upgrade WIN8 on Acer Aspire M5 - 581 T-Wifi and judgment questions

I own an Acer Aspire M5 - 581T. I have improved my Win 7 to Win8 system. My Wifi driver does not work. I tried to install Atheros WLAN pilot in the Acer software driver download site, but it error. Also every day, my laptop goes in a State does not, and am forced to stop my system from cold. All the fixes to these issues?

    Hi Harish,

I apologize for the late response. Are you still facing this problem?

If so, I suggest you to check if it was the driver that you have downloaded and installed. There are two categories available for download; one for 64-bit Windows 8 and an another Windows 8 64 bit updated for Windows 7. Make sure that you download and install the latest.

    http://us.Acer.com/AC/en/us/content/drivers

This driver is compatible with Windows 8. If you still get the error incompatible, there is probably a problem with the driver. In this case, I suggest you to download and install the driver of Windows 7 in compatibility mode and check. You can download the driver for Windows 7 from the same link I provided above. You can find more information about the compatibility of this article:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-Windows

Try these steps and let us know the results for assistance.
