Acer Aspire V3-731 and an Intel 3160HMW

I have the laptop above, updated since Win7 for Win8 Pro Win8.1 Pro (all 64-bit). I was very satisfied with the factory-installed Atheros AR5BWB222 wireless card and came across a good deal on an Intel 3160 dual band wireless AC + Bluetooth Mini PCIe card. I removed the Atheros and installed Intel, thinking he would automatically pick the drivers if I had my hip a UTP cable. Fake! I then stopped, removed the Intel card, it started with wireless and deleted the drivers Atheros wireless and Rebooted BT. just to be safe, then hung the UTP cable and downloaded and installed the Intel drivers for my card. I then reinstalled the Intel card, started, and Windows wouldn't even find it. No list in Device Manager, no discovery in an attempt to "Find the hardware changes", absolutely nothing.

I tried many other methods - uninstall the drivers, insert the card without driver and then install the drivers, nothing works. Thinking that maybe the card was bad, I put it in my old Gateway M6850fx (even if it has only one full size port) and it installed fine, once I went to Intel and DL had the drivers for Win7. A wireless and BT, no problem.

Any ideas on what I can do to get my Acer to recognize? Acer has a "white list" as some HP? If so, is it possible around it? I have the latest BIOS and drivers for WIn8.1 Acer has to offer, but I'll be darn if I can understand what it takes to make this card works.

TIA!

Well, after further degeneration of the Atheros card, I bought a card Broadcom BCM943228HMB Combo WiFi/BT ($19 at Amazon) and installed. OMG, what a difference! As soon as I start the laptop it installed the driver for wifi on its own, then went out and upgraded to the latest version. I now have wifi almost until the BONE ends of charge :-)

I had to manually install the drivers for BT, but it was also painless. Now my wifi and BT are strong with a great connection and not intermittent disconnects. I got the card installed for a week, but I highly recommend it to anyone looking for wifi performance that collapses every 10 minutes.

  • Acer Aspire R7-571 and Pen support?

Hello, I recently bought an Acer Aspire R7-571 and I wonder if it supports any kind of pen or stylus for the touch screen? I ask this because if that's the case I intend to buy one, but if it isn't... Well, I don't want to waste money and prefer not to buy one only to find out that it doesn't work.

Also what leads me to believe that it may in fact take supported a pen/stylus, is to do for the parameters in under hardware and sound control panel, where it says Pen and Touch. So yes maybe a stupid question, but I figure it does not hurt to ask.

    Thank you for your time

You can use the same pens and stylii with your Acer R7-571 as with most Android devices or iPhone/iPad: capacitive standard pens. I use with my R7-571. In General, how to identify the price will be: they should all be less than $20! (In fact, $ 2 mine!)

R7-572 has an active digitizer under the screen, and so should be an active stylus/pen for her. They start usually from $30.

More information here. But not much more!

  • I have an Acer Aspire 5517 laptop and need to know how do I know if I need to update my BIOS.

My Acer Aspire 5517 laptop is Windows 7 X 64 with an AMD Athlon TF - 20 processor at 1.6 Ghz with 2 GB of physical memory. Each from time to time and these days leave frequently, my screen goes black and it does not start... I have attached an external monitor to him, without success, so I guess this isn't the video portion. So he can start I turn market until it re-boots. Sometimes it restarts quickly and at other times, it takes several minutes... up to 20 or 30 times. I ran a disk check to see if all sectors are on the hard drive. It removes very well... I thought that if the BIOS is outdated, I would update on it, to see if this helped... Any suggestions, much appreciated...

  • Problem with my Acer Aspire 5552-5686 and 5.1 Audio HDMI

Hi all, I recently bought a SONY HT-SS380 Home Theatre, and I tried to connect it to my Acer Aspire 5552-5686 by HDMI port. (I have Windows 7).

My problem is that I have can´t set up the laptop to use more than 2 channels (stereo). I ve been looking around the internet and there seems to be a common problem with this computer, but I can´t understand why or how to fix it.

I ve tried to install the latest Realtek Audio drivers, the Catalyst Control Center, some Audio HDMI of ATI drivers. I Don t know what else to try!

    Any help?

    Thank you very much!

This isn't the audio chipset of this system, which I listed above.

The audio chipset to send the data in 5.1 surround.  The HDMI port would support, if it was sent.

It is not sent in this way, I listed above.

  • Acer Aspire V15 Nitro and Intel Graphics HD 5500 question

    Hi all:

I have a problem with my laptop (model VN7 - 571G). After a recent update of Windows 10, now I am not able to connect the laptop to my LG TV via HDMI. I think it's related to Intel Graphics 5500 (current driver 10.18.15.4248). When I connect the laptop to my flat TV, laptop screen goes black (as has happened before), but TV message says 'no connection '. If I try to use the 2.6.1.4 Intel driver update utility, he said I must go to the Acer site for drivers. I already uninstalled all Intel drivers (VGA, chipset, etc.) and installed the Acer site but the problem persists. No idea how to fix? Thank you and what is the Spain.

  • Acer Aspire R572G - KB3140743 breaks my Intel Gfx - BlackScreenOfDeath

    Hi all

Is anyone having trouble of Windows 10 lately, it's what happens for me yesterday. A week ago, this patch came in KB3140743 along comes with updated drivers intel as usual windows 10 crush "mandatory" and provides a new driver on "stable existing one - the one provided to the acer support. Did not notice anything much, because all these happen in the background until the mistake of thread BSOD indicating Unhandle me has arrived and after reboot-hell get lost.

Resulting in the return of the black screen after the boot screen. This had happened before, during the days of 1511 began, and resolve us by using Safe Mode and force an older driver for windows.

However, for some reason, after the installation of KB3140743, each time I have come back to older drivers it still give me the black screen at startup. I'm fairly certain is the display driver intel because I tried to disable the card nvidia as well. Now im can start using view intel as "display default microsoft driver" - which is lame, but at least I have the chance to use the computer.

I tried to uninstall KB3140743... bad idea, this resulted in the Dungeon system on spinning infinitely. IM out of ideas to solve this problem now andI don't want to force all resets. Just jump I can find a solution here.

    Aspire R572G is so not a good model, I guess it's an A7 - 572 g.

Perhaps another update is tagging along with KB3140743. I could uninstall all updates that have been installed with KB3140743 and see if it would start. Uninstalling an update must return the computer to the way it was before the update was installed. Running.

If you remove the bottom two rubber bumpers, remove all the screws, cover starts immediately. Disconnect and remove the battery and remove the HARD drive. Connect it to another computer USB and get your files.

    If it's an A7 - 572G.

  • Acer Aspire E1-731 drivers

I have red 10 Windows and returned to Win 7. This was based on several legacy programs I need to run and win 10 did not.

So I downloaded the drivers from the Acer site and I'm stumped. I can not get the LAN driver or any work or installed driver? What am I am I missing here, I get all sorts of messages saying not compitable and so on... Any soultions?

The best news! Well for this laptop which is...

I spent the day looking for drivers and located all drivers I need. Has taken some time and some trial and error and ended them. Those available on the Acer download section all failed for my model.

I had to change the BIOS to Legacy to prevent the Windows 7 hang during installation. I bought a copy of Win 7 and finally had the chance to use it.

The BIOS has been locked - should understand this and managed to unlock and turn off the TMP. Then I was good to go.

Rinse the operating system (goodbye to Windows 10 / / I spent the weekend with Win 10 for the 1st time and I doubt I'll ever go back) and managed to make the appearance and the way that I need for my development environment. Work more QUICKLY and efficiently.

I bought 4 of these laptops and will now serve Win 10 and install a copy of Windows 7. Win 7 what now for a great price...

I have read some of the messages in the form and figured out how to locate all the drivers and did!

This one is SOLVED! If you are looking to switch back to WIn 7 - it is not difficult!

One of my USB ports does not work. When I check in the Device Manager is saying "no drivers installed for this device. If I click on the update drivers option it tells me that Windows has detected that the best drivers for the device are installed. But when I check the Device Manager it says still no driver installed for the device. I even downloaded and installed the drivers from www.acer.co.za but its not working. What could be the problem?

  • I have an Acer Aspire E 11 and since the evolution of Windows 10 freezes the cursor of the touchpad

My cursor touchpad freezes after 20 minutes use, this has only started since the evolution of Windows 10. I stopped manually and then wait a few moments before restarting, 9 times out of 10 it will work again, sometimes longer than the aforementioned 20 mins

A driver is a piece of software. Without the correct driver, you, me or the best store in the world cannot ix it.

Download the right driver for Windows 10.

Before installing the new driver, go to configuration/program of control panel & features and uninstall the old driver, reboot, and then install the new driver.

  • Acer Aspire HD E1 graphics driver - 571-4000

Hello, I tried to update the HD Graphics 4000 driver in my Acer Aspire E1-571 and I'm able to get the latest version of the driver works very well from the Acer support page. However, this driver is almost 3 and a half years now or dates from 2012 with the fact that every time I encounter a problem with a modern game support always telling me to update my drivers. The latest driver from Intel page is perhaps not more than two months. I am aware that the driver must come from the OEM for him to be recognized, but decided to opt for a workaround see if I could update it in any case.

I tried the advice from the support page from Intel to uninstall the driver from Acer and do a fresh reinstall with the latest Intel driver instead, but it does not work. It seems that it only allows for Installer try to install it but fails halfway through, as supposed is not at all tell me to go to my OEM. It seems that Acer genuneily uses the custome for its driver software and if the latest driver must be provided.

I'm I missed something here, this is really the last version supplied by Acer and would it be possible for Acer to release a newer version. I also checked with people who use an HD Graphics 4000 and they do not seem to meet the same problems I did when using DX11. Which none use Acer laptops.

My characteristics are i5 - 3210 M 2.5 GHz with Turbo boost of 3.1 GHz technology

    8 GB RAM DDR3

Version number of Intel Graphics HD 4000 9.17.10.2867

I finally found the solution, you had reason to propose a system reset but that only highlighted the real problem. It was a combination of issues, hive corrupted corrupted windows installer and interference from program files. I recommend to anyone who tries this correction to create a Windows easy transfer file and backup register and license keys.

First of all, I tried to do a refresh of the system and then install the driver, even though I've updated first he failed and blue screened after the installation of the driver as he had not the necessary DirectX update. Which implies that updates has not really saved. I opened a restore point to back up the system and he projected blue perma then. The system repair tool is not actually grant me access to the restore point to try again. To work around this problem, I opened the disk part via the command prompt in the advanced and then forced Startup Repair tool permissions. To do this, I typed first 'Diskpart', then 'list volume', then select the disk D and C drive by their volume number. For my part D training was 0 and C disk 1, then withdraw their letters and assign again so that the primary drive is drive C (even if it does not change letters volume the end of it, it will always be you grants the permissions you need). This love so much "select volume 0", "Remove letter = d','select volume 1','Remove letter = c','select volume 1','affect letter = c',"select volume 0", " affect letter = d'. "" "" Then type 'exit' and 'rstrui.exe'. Perform the restore from here point and you should be able to continue the restore point.

With myself however, the restore point has been so severely altered it could not load up, worse yet, I was not able to make an another refresh or reset. I discovered that this was due to corrupt hive files, I renamed to solve this problem through the command-line as follows, ""C: ', 'cd %windir%\system32\config', "ren system system.001", "ren software software.001', 'exit'." This then allowed me to perform a system reset.

The first thing I tried to do was last updated in the system and even once, it has failed, it is constantly necessary to restart and wouldn't install anything. After you perform a clean boot, I realized that it was interference program McAfee and after he could not afford to be disabled I uninstalled it completely (I might have updated to see if he would settle the matter, but at this point, I was losing patience). Procceded updates until the end of the first batch. After that, the update has been stuck in a loop of always trying to find updates but never finished. It was because corrupt windows files from the installer, to solve this problem, I restarted the machine to make sure that the update has been closed and I opened as an admin command prompt so I could rename them and force the system to make new files by typing the following. "net stop wuauserv", "net stop cryptsvc", "net stop bits. Then type "ren SoftwareDistribution.old C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution", "ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old. Then type 'net start wuauserv', 'net start cryptsvc', 'net start bits' reactivate the update and then restart the computer. The update then worked fine until he hit Security Windows KB2756872 solve this I used a manual installation.

Available to the Update for Windows 8 for x 64 systems (KB2756872) - Microsoft and then select Windows8-RT-KB2756872-x 64.msu (162.8 MB).

After this all updates completed fine, I created my restore points (and a backup just in case restore point) and continued to install the driver manually. It worked the first time after having solved the problems. I use Windows easy transfer to restore all the files and after I re - install my programs, I'll be as good news.
