Acer Aspire V3 - 772 G BIOS upgrade (Linux OS)

Hello

I have V3 - 772-G laptop computer with linux on it. My question is: how to upgrade the bios to version 1.15? Can I use something like Hiren's BootCD with windows XP of the Mini?

Thank you.

I found no InsydeFlash for linux, so I flash with Hiren's BootCD with windows XP of the Mini. BIOS has been on a USB flash drive, because the hard drives were not detected.

Thank you.

  • Acer Aspire V3 772 G BIOS grayed out

    Hello
I have a laptop Acer Aspire V3 (model G 772-9643), Acer sent me the recovery disks for. The first two steps they registered on the included sheet was to insert the disc labeled "System drive", then reboot and press F12 to get into the boot menu.

When F12 has not worked for me, I went into the BIOS with F2 and discovered that F12 Boot has been disabled. I tried to go down with the arrow, but couldn't. All the options are greyed out, even on the other sections in the menu of the BIOS. Time and date system were virtually the only things not greyed out. Until I have enable F12 I can not change the order of boot on CD/DVD and cannot start the process of recovery with Acer discs, so I'm completely stuck now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's urgent because I really need this laptop for the school that has already started. The laptop is very expensive, it is important that I try to repair rather than buy a new one.

Thanks in advance for any help

If you already save and exit the BIOS, enter the BIOS again and check if the options are still grayed out.

  • Acer aspire 5552. Battery / bios update

I have an Acer Aspire 5552on whose battery is a failure. I bought a new battery, but the laptop will not recognize the new battery. The provider says my bios needs updating. My bios is acer v2.05 17/11/2010. Downloads of the bios on the website do not include v2.05. where can I find this update of the bios?

I am sure the sellers claim. Some batteries cheap may not be recognized by the laptop. I got lucky with AGPtek, PWR + and Anker.

If you want to upgrade the Bios, I would go to the most recent. Make sure your battery is fully charged, maintain the power of the connected, read everything carefully, because you will.

  • Acer aspire E1-521-0694 bios flash failure

My son tried to update the bios of the acer aspire E1-521-0694 but something went wrong. Now, the laptop wouldn't boot but give a black screen and doesn't do anything.

I tried several restarts and the LCD came, but just a black screen

It looks like a BIOS problem for me

    What can we do?

If it does not start after a black screen, most likely the system needs repairs. We suggest to contact technical support in your region for further assistance in this matter.

  • Acer Aspire v3 - 551 Advanced Bios

Hi, I need activate virtualization on my Aspire v3-551 runs the update of the Bios 2.14

I would also like to know if there is anyway (inside the bios) to increase my fan speed?

    Thanks for any help

Run this detector to determine if your laptop is capable and enabled:

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=163321

If so, you should see this:

It is the result of my M5-581TG. I don't have any BIOS entry for virtualization. I think that, on capable machines, this will be enabled by default as is the case on my M5.

According to me, the table of temperature/speed of the fan is wired in the BIOS and cannot be changed.

  • Acer Aspire x 3960-how to upgrade memory?

I hope that someone on the forum will be able to help me. I am wanting to upgrade the memory on my Aspire x 3960 (small form factor desktop) but to be honest I don't have any idea how to do it. I'm ok with the purchase of real memory and know how much it will, but the problem is to install.

I opened the folder and it does not seem a way to access the memory without taking the DVD player on (which I don't know how to do). Does anyone have any idea how I can do that he leads me in the corners. I have attached a picture of what the inside looks like just in case it is useful.

OK, I managed to sort it out. I had to remove the front panel and there is 2 screws. Remove the screws allows the dvd drive & disc hard case to slide and then I was able to install additional memory.

  • Acer Aspire S7-391-6810 works under Linux (Ubuntu, say)?

Also, if I install Linux instead of Win8, my warranty will be void?

    Thank you!

    Nice day

Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.) will run on S7-391-6810, HOWEVER, the only problem you will encounter is the drivers and applications on your computer that drivers are only available for the Windows platform.

Regarding the warranty, Acer does not care what you load on the machine, as they cover the software warranty. They cover only the pure component on hardware failure... which means that only produce material defect is covered.

  • Acer Aspire V3 - 772 Windows 8.1 clean install

So I've upgraded to windows 10... It worked fine and I decided to use eRecovery to return to windows 8 and then update to 8.1.

After System Restore, I discovered that windows has been corrupted. (Windows worked, but I can not install updates)

So I decided to just wipe and clean installed windows 8.1, only to find out that I can install it only by using the start mode of inheritance, using the UEFI is for me the error: Windows cannot update the configuration to start the computer, the installation cannot continue. (Already tried disabling secure boot, without success). Legacy mode worked well until I went to come to re - install the drivers, that's when I noticed that some hardware has not been detected, my gpu nVidia for example.

Any help is appreciated. (Please... I am so frustrated now.)

And Yes, I configured an another usb to fully support UEFI boot, without success.

After using "own diskpart" on your main hard drive... Press and hold the power button on your computer to shut down your computer.  Wait about 20 seconds.  Then turn on again.  Install windows as directed in step 8.

  • Laptop Acer Aspire V3 - 772 G-9653 flicker when unplugged

So, I contacted customer service and even sent in a ticket about this, so I thought I fixed it and is more required to send my laptop (I was transported with joy, that I just got my laptop back to Acer less than a month ago.)

I was wrong - and I found the problem only occur when you remove the portable computer from loading. The screen will Flash very subtly... then again... then it would become quite obnoxious that the battery is exhausted. I obviously adjust brightness of the screen when I'm at school and fresh out of my laptop.

Sometimes the flickering stops as soon as I plug, sometimes I have to restart the computer after plugging in it - flicker will exercise for a little while longer, but eventually always disappears completely until I have school the next week, then the process repeats itsself.

We never seen anything like it, or have a preview? I fear that my laptop will have to once more return to the service - blah.

I would say, if you have not already, download and install the latest graphics of the support Web site of for your V3 - 772G Acer driver. Another thing I would do would be to use one of the default power, like balanced or high performance options.

If none of the above suggestions work and as a last resort, I would recommend recharge your computer Acer to factory default. If it does not the problem is most likely a hardware problem. If you set up a repair I would say providing very detailed instructions and how long it takes to reproduce the problem.

  • Acer Aspire v3 - 772 g installind a second HDD

    Hello

I bought an SSD, put in diskbay0 and fresh installed win 8.1.

The old HDD is now in diskbay1, bios detects the two HARD drives, but victory 8.1 detects only the Diskbay 0 disk (ssd or hdd original).

    So now:

-I'm stuck with win 8.1 installed on both my HARD drive,

-victory 8.1 detects ONLY the disk HARD of Diskbay0.

    -The BIOS detects both.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance.

After the setting in the bios windows boot manager and boot from the ssd drive, I managed to format the original HARD drive (win8.1and the recovery partitions) then that's all is OK.
Initialization of the bios was running ant it took a few attempts to succeed.
    See you soon.

  • Acer Aspire V3 722 G several problems due to a BIOS update

As I wrote in the title, I have an Acer Aspire V3 772 G computer laptop and recently he acted strange regarding the overheating and stuttering eventhough I clean it regularly and she should not do any of those at all, I keep everything updated, everything except the BIOS that is, so I searched, I discovered that some people got rid of these same problems with a simple update of the BIOS. So I decided to do the same thing, found good download, made sure it was for my model, but I must have missed something because after the update has been (apparently successful) fact, the computer restarted, but after the Acer splash screen, a message appeared that said 'by default boot device missing or impossible start' and after pressing Enter, it takes me to a screen where I should be able to choose a boot device, but there is no device to choose and the only way out of this is to unplug the laptop and restart it. After many hours of trying to figure out why the update failed and how to recover the BIOS and either try to reinstall the most recent roll to the other older, I accidentally discovered that I could access the BIOS settings part, where I could see the information on the laptop itself and BIOS (curiously It says that the version is the most recent 1.15) and the other parameters such as order of device boot and BIOS password, but some options are grayed out and inaccessible for me (e.g. factory reset). So as soon as now, I don't know if I've messed up in the first place or if it's something completely different (since I wasn't able to find a person who had the same problem) and would be very grateful for any help.

    Thanks in advance

Go into your Bios Startup tab and see if it changed your startup mode.
