Acer - Factor Reset went from Windows to Windows 8 10

Last year, I improved my two laptops from Acer Convertible to 10 Windows in Windows 8.

Last week I wanted to restore my laptop to a new installation of Windows 10 in order to sell them.

-Laptop #1... works well, no problems

-Laptop #2... to originally worked fine, but I needed to reset the laptop.  Unfortunately, factor reset went to 8.1 Windows;  In addition, when looked at again the factory restore, I get a msg of error that the scores cannot be found.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thank you

  • I went from windows Vista to Windows 7 and know its showing is not real help!

Hello I have a Hp Pavilion with Windows VistaHome Premium desktop computer and it crashed a few months ago. I tried to do a system restore and the power lost during the process of... My father had to reformat hard drive five times and then installed the upgrade to windows 7 and now his indicating don't not authentic. What can I do to solve this problem. I services to remote Hp and all they could tell me (for my 12 load a reacuring months) if there was nothing they could do because I need to reinstal windows vista family premium that lights up with the computer first and then reinstal Windows 7... But her could not send me the disc to reinstal windows vista because my computer was in their obsolete eyes... So, what's a girl to do?

    Hello

Press F11 at startup to reinstall Vista if you have never received a recovery disc and still get a recovery after all partition formatting that has been done by your father.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00809678&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=18703

    Or try this method.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

As it happened, you may have to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Went from Windows 10 back to Windows 7 Home Premium: Windows Update does not work

After trying Windows 10 for 3 weeks... I found it too difficult to navigate in... and it does not work with some of my old programs... especially, my Apple Airport Express Utility would not work... could not enter and update the passwords for WiFi networks...

HOWEVER, very important, my wife was really upset to lose his old classic games... AND she had a devil of a time trying to browse... Happy woman... Happy life...

So I followed the instructions to return to my old Windows 7 Home Premium... no problem... except that I had to go back and load old games for woman... AND now in Windows 7 when I try and do the 22 7 window updates I missed 3 weeks I was in 10 Windows... it will bring up as an 'Update '... "Download Windows Upgrade 10 '... I spent hours trying different solutions... to hide files, removal of the old updates, etc. without success... I give up...

I noticed that some updates are for 'security'... and I don't know if I can trust Norton to protect me without updates...

I guess my question would be WHEN MICROSOFT WILL CORRECT "THEIR PROBLEM"? So I can update my computer... without going in circles with Windows 10?

    Hello

  • Nine Acer Predator G3-605 starts windows 8

    Hello.
I got my Acer Predator G3 605 last week, but the system was slow.
So I decided to put my SSD OCZ Agility 120 GB 2 expansion slot and instal windows drive there.
As a first step, it starts up fine and work fast. I installed all the updates and soft, reboot several times and no problems.
After I put everything I have delete the windows HARD disk partition. Then system stop when windows starts.

    So far, I tried this:
    1. several resettlement on the SSD and HDD image or clean install.
    2. all the BIOS for SECURE BOOT settings (on/stop/standard/custom/key on / key removed) and CSM.
    3. I connect only SSD or HDD only and do recover or new installation.
4 delete all partitions and recover / clean installation.
    5. update of the BIOS/SSD firmware
6 recovery discs acer does not help. Even that resetting the BIOS.

Nothing helps. He works until the 'Configuration' window material and after the reboot that it stuck.
No idea what can be wrong and how to fix it?
    I do not know more
    Thanks for any help.

I finally found a solution by myself, so I'll post my solution here in case someone will have the same problem.
It works for me, can't promise it will work for everyone.

    My step by step solution:
    1. I created WindowsToGo on my USB with this statement:
    http://www.TomsHardware.co.UK/FAQ/ID-1867613/create-Windows-drive-Windows-enterprise.html
    2. from Acer Support I have download all the latest drivers for my Acer Predator G3 605 and extract everything to a special folder on my USB key
    3. I disconnect my HDD SATA cable drive (there is still no connected SSD)
    4. in the bios I have disable startup secure, activate the start menu and CSM always turn on
    5. After restart I press F12 and the start menu, I selected my USB with WinToGo
    6. once my Windows go hardware and post installation preparation I finally see the start menu.
    7. the first thing to do was connect my HDD SATA cable so windows automatically detects the drive
    8. I open prompt by admin, type diskpart, and then list disk, my HARD drive has disk 0 so I type select disk 0, then clean type
    9. I have installed all the drivers for my Acer and restart
10 after restarting, I go to my pre downloaded BIOS updated and open the app updated
11 choose ROM file, choose update all (not only part of pre selected), then click FLASH
12 reboot, unplug my USB and put it in my installation USB Windows 8 key (DVD can also be used)
    13. from Windows install go to advance the installation and choose the HARD drive (in this point installation program said that cannot be installed on this drive as bios don't have drivers, but I could still create partition, so I did two create and click Next)
    14. After all server files have been copied computer auto restart
15 Windows 8 shows the information for the preparation of the devices (it was the last part of work for me before, cuz after computer restart blocked)
    16. after restarting Windows boot and go to the Customization screen. Everything works.

I have to keep secure boot off and CSM on yet.

  • Can I downgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows XP Professional

QUESTIONS: 1) can I demote a machine Win7 Starter purchased through package of retail full license, never installed, XP Pro OS?  Assume that both are 32-bit.  I was thinking of buying one of these netbooks cheap in Walmart stores that are Windows 7 upgrade option to Windows 8 (which I do not wish to use), and experiment.  If Win7 is proving to be as disastrous as I wait, I want to install a new copy of the new detail of full XP Pro including Service Pack 3 (which has never been installed on any computer), to downgrade from Windows 7. I've never used in triplicate.
The machine is Acer Aspire One with Windows 7 Starter edition, on sale at Walmart for only $228.  They have other editions of Windows, I could buy instead, if the Starter Edition is not eligible for a downgrade.
    2) do you anticipate problems of license?  Do not talk about compatibility, as that varies depending on the machine.  It's just that the installation with MS products is always also annoying complicated and always associated with a licensing problem.  I can't guess at what these problems are, they are never what I expect.  Where the question.
Backstory: I am wary of XP Professional updating to Windows 7, due to the many people experience incompatibilities.  I ran the Win7 Upgrade Advisor, and he has not yet detected what third-party software was running on my machine in his analysis, other than common programs of MS and stuff from the internet.  So I have ZERO faith it will be compatible with my XP software current and material, so 32-bit (which I use now), or 64-bit (which one of my machines can take in charge, but instead, 32-bit XP Prof OS is installed and running).
It cost me about $100K of my time to switch to XP, in 2005; I just went through two own XP installed on two of my other machines.  Recovery was not possible.  Cost me three months of my life, these facilities.  Wouldn't do it again.  It is unnecessarily complex.
So I have to check the effectiveness of Win7.  And if she is not enough justify using, as I hope - I have a lot of detail that new (well, once again) never used XP Professional OS bought in a store, that I can use to downgrade.  ("not OEM, not upgrade or academic, etc. so the full XP license is valid for each packet.)  I understand very well that support ends in April 2014 and don't care if it stops.  What I care about is running my business that threatens to Win7, because it changes the interface and eliminates a bunch of features that have been very productive in XP Pro.
Of course, my impressions have not been tested on a live installation.  ERGO this post.  For me, it's a $100,000 decision, because it is the cost of my time if I deploy Win7.  Sorry for ranting, but I need to explain the reasons for downgrading in context.  Thank you for your time!

I guess I do not understand you. If you have a version of Xp retail packaging, you can install it on any computer you want. Nothing MS or anyone else can say about it.

As others have noted you might encounter a driver for some of your hardware problem is not not compatible wth Xp. The only way to know for sure, or I should say the best way, is to install Xp and discover.

If it was me I would make sure that the computer has a restore disk or a partition to reinstall Win 7 if Xp didn't work. If none of those who were present I would clone the drive hard while Win 7 was still about this. Better safe than sorry.

Finally, I would make sure that I got a usb Ethernet card so that you could make sure you have the ability to connect when the net card driver was not installed with Xp...

  • Aspire XC-605 Downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7

    Hi people,

I need quick tips on a desktop PC Acer Aspire XC-605 and hope you can help me. My boyfriend just bought an Acer Aspire XC-605 for his family to use. It comes with Windows 8, but he hates this OS. He called me yesterday and asked if I could "downgrade it" to Windows 7 as I'm a bit geek with PCs.

But I read a horror story about someone who wants to downgrade an Acer Aspire XC-600 and it seems very simple not => so I expect the same thing to a XC-605. (I'm trying a bit of research before plunging).

Here is a summary on how to get Windows on an Acer Aspire XC-600 from this post:

1 completely turns off your computer.

    2. turn on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press DELETE to enter BIOS.

    3. use the right arrow key to select the authentication.

    4. with secure boot is highlighted, press ENTER, and then press the arrow down to select the people with reduced mobility.

    5. use the right arrow key to select Boot Options.

    6. with CSM launch highlighted, press enter and use the arrow down to select always.

    7. press ENTER.

    8. press on the F10 key to save the changes and reboot the system

9 re - enter the BIOS by pressing DELETE and go to the Advanced menu.

10 go down in the Integrated Peripherals menu.

11 change onboard SATA Native IDE mode.

    12. press on the F10 key to save the changes and reboot the system

By doing this, you can, since the Win7 DVD, delete all existing partitions and not all errors not being able to install on this HARD drive.

After installing Win7 the only drivers Win7 not found were the wired LAN, card reader Realtek USB and SM Bus controller. (On the XC-600)

My understanding is that Win 7 use Win drivers 8 without a problem. So I used the devices I've found a similar driver on the Acer Aspire XC-605 issue.

That computer has SLIC 3.0, & Secure Boot UEFI, is why a full erase of the HDD is required; as with UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) & Secure Boot-online Bios "wife" the hard to the motherboard. At least that's what I discovered to date. I generally supported the recovery partitions on OEM boxes like an insurance-online just in case that something goes wrong, and I can't install the desired OS. Of course wipe everything clean denies this useful backup. Comments please?

PS - I forgot to mention that my boyfriend he filed yesterday afternoon while I was helping my mom with lights. He was still in the box.

The box was brand new! -It never has been started! I couldn't believe he didn't even try to make 8 on this so I called him again, and he said he was certain that he would not win 8. So I did the same as above for a XC-600 and it blew.

However if you replace onboard SATA Native IDE mode as shown above in 11, Windows will not let you install from a USB key as it crashes during the expansion of the files to 1% on the XC-605. If you use a disc of 7 win he advises you immediately after you size the partition to the OS and tell him to install there, that the drive is not configured in the Bios to be Bootable. He definition back to ACHI authorized Win 7 must be installed on the disk (I didn't try the Stick but this probably would have worked as well).

There were a few more necessary than the XC-600 above - drivers so I installed all drivers 8 Win from the Acer site, and they all worked, but there is only one device listed in the Device Manager, under other devices-online (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller that has a yellow triangle next to him. He doesn't have a driver that are associated with and Windows Update does not find it. I find it strange that he sees it as a USB controller because as all USB ports now operate. I think that Windows has erred in the detection of this device so I am headed in that direction now.

I tried the function of automatic detection of Acer and it says to activate a Bluetooth, Lan and Wireless LAN and try to detect again. So I enabled the wireless connection, (one is connected to Wired?) but I'll try to find something Bluetooth to turn on that, but I think it's just a Kipper.

I hope someone will chime and advise how to determine this last device is before I get all my hair...

    Thanks for reading...

I went to Intels here and download a new Chipset for windows 7 (chipset 10.0.13 PV installation). That will fix the problem with (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller. Triangle yellow no more... I hope it works for you 2. /Kak PC-SUPPORT Sweden

  • Windows 10 disappointment Reset PC for Windows 8.1

    Hello

I am writing in the hope that I put a 10 Windows on my machine. I upgraded my pc to windows Windows 8.1 10. I improved when he was free and when it was at the beginning of the version/release. I suffered through many "kinks" after each release of version/version, I stayed patient, (since I am a developer, I understand that the task of debugging and testing) and true to .NET.

However, the last week has been the straw that "broke the camels back". After the most recent upgrade, my app store Windows does no more, work with my app Mail and a few other applications. My Wifi would not turn on, and the button is grayed. My machine was as useless as water to a thirsty man.

As any developer of self-respect, I hired in troubleshooting trying various suggestions of my Microsoft community, however, after 3 days, I was still left with a broken machine and broken resolve.

I finally resorted to the thing I feared most, which is to return to Windows 8. The deadline for the upgrade to Windows 10 has disappeared, and now I'll have to pay for it, however, after all that I went through this last year, I am sorry to say that I would pay NOT for Windows 10.

I should be compensated for lost sleep lost, lost hair, mental health, and problems of lost faith, I got trying to fix I have not taken no part in creating.

Nothing is FREE, of course, but I write in the hope that I get for FREE a 10 Windows on my machine. Am I a hypocrite, please don't judge, walk me a mile in my shoes last year.

    Download the media creation tool

Click with the right button on the MediaCreationTool.exe file and then click on run as administrator.

Note: How to check if you are downloaded or installed the update Windows 10 anniversary

Select the option to upgrade this PC now if you want to upgrade immediately, if you want to download an ISO image or create a copy on a USB bootable, select create to another PC installation media , and then click Next

A new option has been added to the configuration for the users screen, reinstall Windows 10 on a system already installed and activated. If your system has a digital license attached to it, 10 Windows will be automatically updated:

When you upgraded from a previous version of Windows, what happened is that (your PC) hardware will get a digital license, a unique signature of the computer which is stored on the Microsoft Activation servers. The real Windows 7 or Windows 8 license you were using previously will be exchanged with a key to the diagnosis.

Whenever you need to reinstall Windows 10 on this machine, go just to reinstall Windows 10. It automatically reactivates.

Therefore, there is no need to know or get a product key, if you must reinstall Windows 10, you can use your Windows 7 or Windows 8 product key or use the reset function in Windows 10.
