Fortunately the police recovered the laptop, but the password has been changed and we cannot use it. In the meantime, we have replaced the old laptop with a new one that has windows 8. I made a password reset disk using this, but it won't work on the old laptop.

  You can create a password reset disk only when you are able to log on or access Windows 7 computer and after you have created a password for the same.

  Windows 8 password reset disk can be used only in Windows 8 computer where you created the password and not for Windows 7.

  You must create a Windows password reset disk before you forgot your password. You must also create a new password reset disk when you change your password in Windows.

  If you the administrator password are changed and is not a password reset disk or another administrator account, you will not be able to change or reset the password.

  Don't worry - if you follow the official guide to Mozilla then refers to all open Firefox, not your operating system windows.

  To reset Firefox:

  1. Open the troubleshooting information page using one of the following methods:
     • Click the menu button

       

       click Help

       

       and select troubleshooting information. Should open a new tab containing your troubleshooting information.

     • If you are unable to access the Help menu, type Subject: support in your address bar to bring up the troubleshooting information page.
  2. At the top right of the page, you should see a button that says "Reset Firefox" which looks like this:

  It is not possible to use a CD or DVD to create a password reset disk. This is normal.

  Why Microsoft chose not to allow it, I don't know.

  Kindly, follow these steps to check if all the language settings is good: -.

  1. click on the Start button

  You will get conflicting information here, so you will need to do your own research and come to your own conclusion.  The story is that in computers having the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI), which includes your window 7 PC using the power supply switch is not very likely to have negative consequences.  Such was not the case in the PC and versions prior Windows, especially pre - XP DOS - based versions.   There are two reasons that there is a pause before the stop when you press the power switch.  We need to prevent inadvertently stop the PC by pressing the switch accidentally, and the other is to allow Windows to suspend read/write operations before closing.

  I would follow the advice of ThrashZone and solve the problem of Windows normally stops, then you will not have to worry at all.
