Acrobat cc will not - install tells me to uninstall the previous version of Acrobat

I have recently signed up for Adobe Creative cloud and were able to update my applications Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver without problem. When I try to upgrade to Acrobat DC, it tells me that I have to uninstall earlier versions of Acrobat first.

I checked my system and all versions of Acrobat and Adobe Reader have been uninstalled.

I try to upgrade again by disabling the button 'Remove older facilities'. Nothing happens.

Should what I try next?  I use Acrobat on a daily basis and am at a loss...

    Hi brets49833316,

If you have purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro DC as an upgrade, then a serial number of the previous version which you have like Acrobat X or XI. If in the case where you have not bought one of these in the past, then you must buy Acrobat Pro DC as full version (US $449.00).

In this scenario, you can return the version upgrade and purchase the full version. To return the Contact Customer Service

    Thank you

  • Installed lightroom 6, but he did not recognize or uninstall the previous version.

Hello, I just upgraded from Lightroom 4.4 to Lightroom 6.  During the installation process it does not recognize 4.4 has been installed, and even it does not uninstall it.  Can I safely uninstall 4.4 Lightroom without affecting my installation of 6 Lightroom?  I use Windows 10 (update of the anniversary).  In addition, when I started the installation, he kept saying that a system restart is pending, but none was pending.  I even tried to restart a few times and it still reported that a reboot of the system was pending.

    Hi the3roots,

Yes, you can delete the version 4.4 Lightroom without any problem and it will not affect the version of Lightroom update.

    Kind regards

I was not able to upgrade to the latest version of Skype. Uninstall Skype fails.

I have now deleted manually Skype and all entries in the Windows registry database, to try to resolve the problem with the installation in a new version of Skype.
However, download and install the latest version of Skype always give error 1603.

This is quite annoying because I use Skype in my work. Even more, my Skype number now does NOT work because of this fatal update to a new version.

One of the "crew" of Skype have an idea on how to get Skype installed without checking first to uninstall previous versions?

  • Cannot install VmPlayer won't uninstall the previous b/c

    Help

I had a problem this morning when my PC hung up while has been updated to VMPlayer. Now, after the reboot, etc, I can't update VMPlayer, the message being: the MSI "D:\TEMP\vmware_1336072165\vmware player.msi failed.

I tried to uninstall VMPlayer via Control Panel and get "MSI failed.

I tried 'repair' under control panel and he tells me to repair using original VMPlayer installed, which of course fails with the error.

How can I get VMPlayer uninstalled or upgraded to the new version, so it can work?

Right now, it won't work at all.

    Thank you.

You don't mention what your host is the OS, but if it is Windows XP or Windows 7 you might do a system restore to a restore point before you had the problem with the drive.

Then you have a good chance to just remove cleanly.

  • install flash player gpo 11.4 - won't uninstall the previous version

I created a GPO and it fits correctly in flash player 11.4 on some machines, however, on machines with some earlier versions of flash 10.x, the GPO does not install version 11.4. If you restart the computer on the problemmachines, during the object GPO appying settings of the computer that you actually see "install adobe flash player active x 11.4..." but it does not install. In the Panel, the old version 10.x who was deported via GPO is always there. I do not have the GPO or communs\Install for the 10.x version, it has been deleted by mistake.

It's the error in the log of the applications on the computer:

Product: Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX - error 1714.The older version of Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 11 cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612.

Even if I try the Manual uninstallation of Adobe, I can't yet install version 11.4 of group policy. Any ideas anyone please?

Adobe - do not it lasts!

The only solution that worked for me was to define a PPM in the GPO that removes Adobe Flash Player Active X 10 registry keys (2 of them), then the version 11.4 installed through the GPO.
