  • Acrobat can automatically convert excel files to the opening?

    I have a lot of PDFs and they keep coming so I'll try to automate the process of conversion Excel that then goes into MS Access. Is there something I can do so that when the file is placed in the folder, what a batch file it opens in Acrobat and then I code something in there to convert the file to Excel with me having to do something? Overall what I'm trying to do, is have a program that takes each PDF in a file and converts it into an excel spreadsheet. Manually, the conversion is good and in the format I need. I just want to know if this can be done before I start and learn that this is impossible.

    Thsnks,

    Eduard

    Yes, you can certainly write a program using the Acrobat SDK kit to automate our conversion to Excel.

    For troubleshooting, you can disable the Protected Mode (https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/using/protected-mode-windows.html#id_94783) and see if that solves the problem. If the problem persists, please re-enable the Protected Mode to improve safety.

    You write that you have creative cloud.  Which means that you have Acrobat Pro installed.

    Use Acrobat Pro to convert, not Adobe/Acrobat Reader.

    My computer has Windows 7 and Acrobat Reader DC.  When I open a PDF sent there are several fonts instead of one.  The only difference I can find is 'Properties - font - Arial - Type of the actual is of Type 1 fonts' instead of 'TrueType '.  If this is the problem, how can I change the Type 1 for TrueType, and if not, what could be the problem and the fix?

    It cannot be resolved with Reader. Sounds like an issue that will be attached to the end of the creation of embedding fonts.

    Why do I get a - 1712 cannot be opened in Acrobat Reader when I export the document "as" pdf "for Safari on Mac?

    This is an error "timeout". I wonder if Acrobat Reader starts very slowly. Perhaps from the app first will speed it up.

  • MY Acrobat Reader without any notice to destroy my PDF files

    I use Acrobat Reader X. I get the PDF attachments by e-mail. Everything is OK, I have to open, save, and send. After that a few times, when I come to open the same file drive reduce the file to almost zero bites and telling me that the file type cannot be read by the reader or that the file I received is damaged because it was sent not on good code. But I've used the file several times and ws all OK. Why is it damage the files suddenly?

    Also, carefully check the modification date and time.

  • Automatically convert the files to my preference for units

    I have a large number of eps files created using points for the units of measure for paths, work plans, etc. I prefer thumbs. I can't illustrator to automatically convert everything in inches when I open a file?

    I suggest you record an action, but Illustrator can record only. Best you can do is to open each file and click on the right leaders and replace thumb. You can then paste your Clipboard and remove to be able to save the file.

    Have not seen a script to do this, but I hope that among the talented scritpers on this forum will chime.

    Hi m_lewis,.

    Yes, it will update all the components on the BONE. In this scenario, I'll suggest you reboot the machine once and then check out.

    Thank you

  • Acrobat Reader DC fails on CommandInvalidContextError when submitting PDF document on server

    We have Flex application that opens the PDF in document IFRAME and allows the user to fill out the PDF form, add the signature and removing the PDF on the server.

    HTML fragment:

    <object CLASSID="clsid:CA8A9780-280D-11CF-A24D-444553540000" id="myPdf" border="0" width="100%" height="100%"
         type="application/pdf"
         standby="Loading pdf...">
         <PARAM NAME="src" VALUE="downloadDocument.do?docId=12345">
         <p>Error Loading PDF.</p>
    </object>

    When the user submits the PDF following the code JavaScript is executed on the server.

    function submitPdf(url) {
         var params = new Array(3);
         params[0] = "Submit";
         params[1] = url;
         params[2] = "PDF";
         var ar = document.getElementById("myPdf");
         ar.messageHandler = {
              onMessage : function(msg) {
                   window.alert("Success...");
              },
              onError : function(error, msg) {
                   window.alert(error);
              }
         };

         ar.execCommand(params);
    }

    URL is the Manager server that receives PDF data and records them in the database. Client is already connected to the application and is valid JSESSIONID cookie.

    Everything works with Acrobat Reader 10, but after the installation of the new Acrobat Reader DC 2015 we get CommandInvalidContextError exception.

    No one knows what to do to get the job of action submit or how call plugin Acrobat Reader properly APIs?

    No, the URL contains only 7-bit ASCII characters. This cannot be a cause of this problem, because the application works fine with Adobe Reader 10 or 11.

    But I finally found a solution.

    We had to upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader DC (in the main menu of the application--> help-> check the updates).

    Published in June 2015 2015.008.20082 update. This continuous update provides security mitigations and bug fixes.

    It is possible that our problem is related with this release notes.

    I hope that this solution will be included in the next major update in the basic installation.

    Thanks for your help, everyone!

  • Acrobat Reader 11 closes immediately, doesn't open PDF

    Just reformat mioy computer and upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, now I can't open PDF - reader closes immediately - does not open the PDF file at all.  I can't even open XI player by itself.  I tried to uninstall and roll back to Player 10... same result.  Uninstalled and installed the 9.0 version.  Same result.  I have not yet installed XI, but still failed to open the PDF.  I bought and intalled Office 2013 when I replayed.  Nothing is on my computer again except Avast antivirus and firewall, Skype, IE 10 and google chrome.  Any ideas?

    You can try Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement

    See MVP Jack's response, but I would add two things:

    1. If you need a pdf authoring program, I recommend the free cutepdf.

    2. the statement "no one can open or view the attachment unless they".
    use Windows Vista as well"is not correct. What operating system that they
    term is not relevant, and it doesn't have to be the same operating system
    than the one that you are running.

    What version of Word are you running? In this case, Word 2007 or 2010, when
    you save a document, the default format is not .docx. doc. If you are
    send .docx (or .xlsx) files to a person running an old
    version of Word or Excel, except if they have installed the Microsoft «»
    Office for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 file compatibility pack
    Formats.
    http://Office.Microsoft.com/en-us/Word-help/open-a-Word-2007-document-in-an-earlier-version-of-Word-HA010044473.aspx
    or http://tinyurl.com/29f5scy

    Alternatively, if you want to send files, you can save the files
    in the formats .doc and .xls instead of the new .docx and .xlsx formats.
    but make a "Save as" instead of a 'save' and choosing the elder
    format.

    Thus, it may well be that you simply have to do the above and not worth
    sending to all .pdf files.
