I have the adobe acrobat reader (version 4.0) software on my windows xp computer.  I have no internet access at my home.  I'm trying to find out if I can get a free upgrade on cd-rom. Can anyone help?

Thank you.

You can download the complete player offline installer from

and copy it to a CD, USB key, no matter what.

  • Acrobat Reader crashing on the MiPad Xiaomi with the last stable MIUI Global [Android]

I use Acrobat Reader to read the files on Acrobat cloud. Works perfectly on the first launch.

However, once he has run a few minutes in the background while using other applications on the device, or just after sleep, Acrobat Reader simply run. It starts, but she didn't ever get there.

The only thing that helps is erase the data from the cache and app, but the app becomes clumsy AND the clouds function does not work. The only thing that helps is to uninstall and reinstall the app, but I don't want to do every time he happens to leave the unit for more than a minute.

The ROM is stable, everything else works fine, and I have about four applications installed on the device. Nothing could be risky. Acrobat Reader has proved to be a nightmare, however.

I need it for my studies, so this app is the reason why I bought the tablet.

  • Future of 'FREE' software Acrobat reader

    Everyone:

I use Acrobat reader software that came with my scanner Epson V37.  It is connected to an Apple Macbook Pro laptop computer running the "Snow Leopard" operating system.

I use this to create a family history of CD-ROM containing photographs historical, letters, documents and contracts.  Some documents date from 1940 to the present day.

50 to 100 years from now someone will always be able to open and read this information?

Please send employees to Adobe if you know someone at Adobe.

    Thank you

    Ralph

The PDF/A standard is designed to ensure that the files will be opening as far forward as possible, by prohibiting any technology that could be removed or blocked by a seller (encryption systems for example trademarked, video codecs, etc.). The Committee does not guarantee a lifetime of a PDF/A file, but is expected to be at least 50.

It is true that we do not know what material will exist in 50 years, but the public ISO specification defines all that a future programmer would need to know in order to make the file. Adobe didn't need to be involved at all.

CD-ROM engraved, on the other hand, is a terrible choice for archiving. They degrade over time, and there is no guarantee that same 10 years computers will be sold with CD players. It may seem strange, but you are better to store documents in the cloud (in several places), because they will be migrated automatically on the latest technologies of storage as and when they come out. The Internet cannot House you can burn.

  • Exported by Keynote on Acrobat Reader PDF

    Hello

I discovered that every presentation that I export in format PDF of Keynote has problems when played on Adobe Acrobat Reader. There are a few fine black borders around objects.

Here is an example of a blade with a text and png images two. You can see that there is no problem in Keynote or preview, but the problems are in Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows and Mac (less visible).

PDF in Acrobat for reading on Mac

PDF in Acrobat Reader on Windows

    You have an idea?

    Try the following:

    • do not apply in the shadow of these forms of Keynote
    • Assign a better Image quality in the PDF export settings.
  • Software Adobe acrobat reader always displays the necessary update, but there is none

When I run a check of my modules, I always get a message of update of the Adobe acrobat reader software, but there is no update available

For some reason Adobe any does always have the latest version of Adobe Reader on its download page. I suggest to use the internal update within Adobe Reader DC Auditor:

    Help > check for updates

Or you can use this reference page:

  • When I updated my Adobe Acrobat plug-ins it uninstalled Adobe Reader and installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Can I use Adobe Reader instead?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Firefox said that my plugin Adobe Acrobat was outdated, so I've updated. It uninstalled my Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18 and replaced it with Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 2015.008.20082 DC. I did not like this program, and more I read there are still bugs in there. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18. I went into the menu of options of Firefox under applications and changed the options Adobe to use Adobe Reader as the default application for PDF files. It is a safe choice, or should I leave Firefox dictate what PDF program I use? I am concerned about safety issues. Any opinions?

I think that your question has been answered mainly in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1079182

In my opinion, you can trust Adobe to keep the series XI Reader updated for awhile. It is completely safe is impossible to know, given that vulnerabilities are often discovered and kept secret.

  • Acrobat Reader 11.0.17

I have my MacBook PRO OS installed Adobe Acrobat Reader 11.0.16 10.11.5, installation and works correctly.  It happened repeatedly this automatic upgrade to Acrobat Reader 11.0.17 appears on my screen.  If I opt to start the upgrade, it will work for awhile, but never ends.  Is there an incompatibility that I can fix by twisting something on my Mac?

Wow, when I try to DL it I get this from Adobe. If something is in place.

If the link to the most recent update is working for others, or worked for you at point of restarting in safe mode

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

try to connect to your mac directly to your router vs for wi - fi connections

suspend any device on your router which is in streaming or download.

  • 30.0 Firefox do not use external Acrobat Reader

Can change the options for the inside or outside Adobe Acrobat. Makes no difference, I get an error message saying that my version of Acrobat Reader is too low. However, I use 11.0.7. This is what says Windows, and that's what Firefox said on the plugin.
But Adobe say that 11.0.7 can deliver this message to specific error, so Firefox does not use 11.0.7 even if he says it is.

Somehow the Player 9.5 and 11 have been installed. Even if Firefox stated that it would use v11, it used v9.5

  • Firefox requires to activate Acrobat Reader for each web site. How can I stop this behavior?

Whenever I opened a PDF Firefox makes me activate the plugin Acrobat reader. "Allow and remember ' recalls only on a site-by-site basis. How can I get Firefox to always allow Acrobat reader plugin?

This behavior is really boring and too controlling. Although years ago the Acrobat plugin was buggy, it has been stable for a long time. I don't like the Firefox builtin pdf viewer and I want to continue to use the Adobe viewer.

You can set the default behavior in Firefox/tools > Modules > Plugins.

  • I have the latest version of acrobat reader installed (10.1.4.38) but it still says that it needs to be updated

Problem started out of the blue a few days ago. When I go to a page with a PDF file, it says "Plugin is vulnerable..." Click here to start anyway"(paraphrase). When I look in Add-ins, it has the following line about the software Acrobat Reader ' adobe acrobat is known to be vulnerable and needs to be updated to 10.1.4.38» This is the latest version available.

I tried to update, remove from my computer, reinstalling, etc several times. No improvement - I still get the same message.

I have no idea whence 10.1.4.38. But let me put that aside for the moment.

There are actually two ways to upgrade for you.

    • Adobe Reader 10.1.6
    • Adobe Reader 11.0.2

The easiest way would be, inside Adobe Reader X, use help > check updates get 10.1.6. Does it work?

  • Don't like the new pdf.js Viewer. How can I disable it and restore Acrobat Reader as my favorite plugin?

I don't really like the look-and-feel of the new pdf.js Viewer. On my machine (6 yr old HP running Windows XP with sp 3) it displays more slowly than Acrobat Reader, and I was perfectly happy with the Acrobat Reader plugin. Frankly, I want to disable pdf.js, but have not been able to find a way to do it. It does not appear anywhere that I could find the Add-ons Manager. I don't want to be forced to use a feature that seems to be a detriment to performance, at least for me. Mozilla, please review this!

You can set the pref pdfjs.disabled true on the topic: config page to disable the build-in the PDF Viewer and use the Adobe Reader software instead.

  • How to determine or make a 3rd party app by default? As Acrobat reader for PDF files?

I use a PDF with forms to fill out for my business, and when I open the PDF file, the forms are not to fill in the 'default' program that opens to them. I need to change the default application in Acrobat reader or another 3rd party app.

You cannot have a third-party application a default application.
