I reinstalled my windows vista on my computer and when I try to activate windows now it says actiavtion key is used. What can I do

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012)
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.
To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.

Please also state the Version and edition of Windows cited on your COA sticker (if you a) in the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but does NOT quote the key on the sticker!

  • Change the product key to use COA OEM during the product upgrade

I found the kkid106 question "can I use a product key Windows 7 OEM to a retail facility.

But as it is not my particular case, I want to be sure and make the issue.

The question is on a clean install of Windows 7 Home Retail using Windows 7 OEM Home.  My case is not a clean install.

I have the following two scenarios:

Scenario 1. A computer with Windows XP Pro OEM who got the original damage.  I have an Image backup which I bring to a Destination with Windows 8 OEM computer.  I get a retail upgrade of Windows 8.  I restore the Image to the destination computer, and then upgrade old XP Pro OEM with retail upgrade to Windows 8.  Technically I find myself with a computer without a license since the upgrade come from an OEM from another computer.  Now, I change the product key by using the Destination COA OEM computer to make a licensed computer.

This scenario is correct.  Can I validate the license online or by phone?

Scenario 2. A computer with Windows XP Pro OEM who got the original damage.  I have an Image backup which I bring to a Destination with Windows 8 OEM computer.  I have an Upgrade download Windows 8 without product key.  I restore the Image to the destination computer, and then upgrade old XP Pro OEM upgrade download to Windows 8.  I find myself with a computer without a license, because the upgrade is unlicensed and comes from an OEM from another computer.  Now, I change the product key by using the Destination COA OEM computer to make a licensed computer.

  • How did the key product used to identify the product? What is an electronic process or a human identification?

When an authentic product is installed on the hard drive of a computer, it will still work as a true or as a product of infringement if the hard disk is transferred to another computer?
What a case when the hard drive breaks down and is replaced by another? If the product is then installed in the hard drive replaced with the same product key that has been installed on the hard drive has crashed, it'll still work as genuine or a forgery?
    Hi Tom Bom - Pam,.

-What version of the operating system are you using?
-Which is the product that you are talking about? It's the operating system or any software/application?

Product key is an electronic identification process.

When an authentic product is installed on the hard drive of a computer, it will run as a genuine product for the hard drive and not the other hard drive.

-What about a case when the hard drive breaks down and is replaced by another?
If a product is installed in the hard drive replaced with the same product key that has been installed on the hard disk crashed, it won't work as long as a copy is authentic.

If you are referring to the genuine copy of Windows, read this:
Genuine Windows is a recurring process that checks your product key to ensure that it is used with the material, he has been associated during activation. If the product key appears as not authentic or not valid, it is likely that the product key is used on another computer or is a counterfeit.

They key is used - by your previous installation.
    Try to activate by phone
Click the Start - button in the search box, type
    SLUI 4
    and press enter
Follow the instructions, but when the automated system asks you what service you need, do NOT - this should oblige the operator to respond.

  • Can I buy an activation key and use the Windows 7 Upgrade disk to upgrade to Windows 7?

CAN I BUY AN ACTIVATION KEY AND USE MY OLD DRIVE TO UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 7 UPGRADE FROM WINDOWS XP?

    Yes, you can:

    The upgrade to Windows XP?

Please read these instructions carefully and completely before you begin installing Windows 7: there are important steps that you must follow to upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 in order to preserve your files and settings.

Before you begin, you'll need to backup all your data to an external storage device, and you will need all the installation discs for the programs that you want to keep. Please make sure that you have an external hard drive (see details below).

More detailed instructions are available at windows.microsoft.com/upgrade-windows-xp. Here are the basic steps.

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor (windows.microsoft.com/upgradeadvisor) to see if there are known issues that may affect the installation and the question of whether you should install the version of 32 or 64 bit Windows 7.

2 back up your files and settings on an external hard drive using Windows Easy Transfer (windows.microsoft.com/windows-easy-transfer). If you do not have an external hard drive, you will not be able to use Windows Easy Transfer. Alternatively, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick, CD or DVD.

    3. you will need to manually reinstall your programs, such as Microsoft Office, after I installed Windows 7. Gather the installation for your programs and all partner/license product key discs. You may be able to download programs from the Internet. For example, Windows Live Messenger can be installed from the download.live.com/messenger.

    4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)."

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, use Windows Easy Transfer to restore your files and settings.

If you are not comfortable Windows 7 installation, check with a local retail or the services of the PC company store to see if they offer upgrade services.

  • Operator KEY LOOKUP using TCL

    Hello

I am trying to create a search key operator using tcl.
OMBALTER MAPPING "TESTMAP' ADD KEY_LOOKUP OPERATOR 'INSTITUTION_CHARACTERISTIC_DIM '.
VALUES FOR THE DEFINED PROPERTIES (BOUND_NAME, CREATE_NO_MATCH_ROW, LOOKUP_CONDITION)
    ('INSTITUTION_CHARACTERISTIC_DIM', 'true','OUTGRP1.) INSTITUTION_CHAR_SRCKEY
    = INGRP1. INST_CHAR_SRCKEY')
and then adding an attribute to the INGRP
MAPPING OMBALTER 'TESTMAP ATTRIBUTE' ADD 'LAST_ACTIVITY_DATE' TO THE GROUP 'INGRP1' OPERATOR 'INSTITUTION_CHARACTERISTIC_DIM '.

This creates a key lookup operator by name
INSTITUTION_CHARACTERISTIC_DIM and I can see the name connected to the
Properties window, but when I double click and open the search key, I have
can't see not the table of results on the tab SEARCH. For this reason, the
no added attributes to the OUTGRP of looking for keys.

Am I missing an important property of a key to the top?

can anyone help me please with this...

    Thanks in advance...

    Hello

It must link the search operator to the table:

OMBALTER MAPPING 'MAP_LOOKUP' ADD KEY_LOOKUP OPERATOR 'MY_LOOKUP' BOUND TO TABLE '/MY_PROJECT/MY_DB/DIM_CUSTOMERS'
    OMBALTER MAPPING 'MAP_LOOKUP' MODIFY OPERATOR 'MY_LOOKUP' SET PROPERTIES (CREATE_NO_MATCH_ROW, LOOKUP_CONDITION)VALUES ('true','OUTGRP1.ID_CUSTOMER=INGRP1.ID_CUSTOMER')

  • Vista product key in use. Code 0xC004C003

I hope someone can advise as Microsoft have been pretty useless in my opinion.

I have a foreign boy to stay with me at the moment. His English is not perfect, so he asked me to try to sort it out with all the phone calls etc.

He has a Toshiba Vista home premium laptop. A few weeks back he sees at a computer store that he has had a problem & thought that it may have a virus & I understand that they reformat the drive.

Everything was fine until last night when he got the screen message Windows needed to be activated, but when we tried to do it would not accept the key that came with his edition of Windows. It says product key is in use & gave a code 0xC004C003. Down in the corner, he said something along the lines of the copy of windows is not not authentic, but it doesn't have a legitimate key that came with the Windows installed when he bought the computer.

I seem to have spent hours on the phone with Microsoft yesterday & this morning gave me a new key to try but that no longer works. Then I learned by a very steep call center worker (which again seems to be outsourced in India) that they are not technicians so I need either call Microsoft Technical support, which charge something like £50 or more when helping with technical problems or that the owner of the computer has to contact Toshiba.

As all of its documentation of the computer is back in Saudi, where he bought the computer shortly before coming to the United Kingdom, I don't know how helpful to make meetings Tobishba themselves to aid would be.

If someone could give advice I would be really grateful, even if it's to say that the only way to solve this problem is to contact Toshiba or help sky, Microsofts scammed technical assistance service.

I spent almost all day trying to find a solution for him, phoning & searching the net etc think that perhaps the only thing for him to do is to go back to the store of the computer where the laptop has been reformatted, but it's miles away on the other side of London, & I'm not sure that this is the solution to his problem.

    Hello Sal

You are right. Each Toshiba laptop comes with preinstalled operating system and the clean image of Toshiba recovery facilities. This image should not be enabled.

So all that needs to be done is OS install with the supplied media.
