  MX is the latest version of DW which was created by Macromedia, before the Adobe acquisition. I do not think that it was never actually supported by Adobe, but definitely not now (I think that DWCS6 is the oldest version still supported). The activation of this program servers have long been extinguished, it goes without saying that the registration would be also missing.

  I used the chat service to enquire about transfer my license of Dreamweaver MX 2004 from a Windows 7 computer to a new computer Win 8.  The person said that DW MX2004 will not work on Win 8.  But it does - I use the 30-day grace period.  I just need to activate it, but the transfer will not work.  Help please.

  Yep, win 8 64-bit.  Here's what the "system information" said for my machine:

  Name of the operating system Microsoft Windows 8

  Version 6.2.9200 Build 9200

  System sucks V3-571 model

  System Type x 64-based PC

  Intel Core processor i5 - 3230M CPU @ 2.60 GHz, 2601 Mhz, 2 Lossnay, 4 logical processors

  If I understand the 'x 64' means 64-bit.

  Dreamweaver MX 2004 installed from the original CD to the top without any problem except for the activation glitch which, in hindsight, would have been processed in 2 seconds with the correct serial number from Adobe and I opened my eyes.  Just for the record, the correct serial number according to the helpx page is DWD700-56626-60325-58074.

  I have not found all the other posts with exactly the same problem, so I really hope that someone can help you.

  After the use of Dreamweaver MX 2004 for 8 years and more on a single PC, I'm installing it on a newer PC (running Windows XP Professional SP2).  In the activation window, he accepts my serial No. and displays the green check mark, but when I click on continue, it says that it cannot connect to the internet - even if everything else on the computer (browser, e-mail, etc.) can access the internet fine.  My AVG Firewall automatically added Dreamweaver with access to the internet, but just to be safe, I've disabled the firewall and tried again.  Same error message - enabling cannot connect to the internet.

  When I try the option "activate by phone", 2 phone numbers it displays are both incorrect.

  I've not chosen "transfer license" on the old computer again - I dare not do it until I can be sure that ONE of the computers can be activated.  However, what I've read, this isn't the problem - it gives a different error message for this, not an error message internet connection.

  I tried Adobe online chat, which sent me to "support for the Adobe 800-833-6687 voice Support and Customer Service".  They told me that my only option was to post on the forum and someone would be able to help me.  This seems very strange and another post on the forum that seemed similar doesn't seem to get a lot of help, but I don't know what else to do, so here I am.

  What should I do to get this active?

  But you can subscribe to CC 2015 at anytime providing you have the hardware and the operating system that can run CC 2015.
