Activate pad on Inspiron 3537

Hi all, I just got my Dell Inspiron 3537 and so far so good, but I can't seem to find out how to activate the numeric keypad right of the keyboard... I pressed F2 at startup but don't see anything in the bios to turn on... any ideas?

There should be a key on your keyboard, titled "FN" + "NUMLOCK"

Press and hold this key while pressing the "Numlock" that precedes the 7 on number key once... a light or indicator should display the numeric keypad is enabled.

Then, I got an i5 Inspiron 3537. Mobile friendly for its price. Download all the manuals, made my recovery DVDs. All was well in my world.

First thing I noticed is that there is no info in the manuals for tweaking the BIOS and since this is my first experience with a UEFI bios, I was a little disappointed. Is there a manual for this?

Then, I upgraded the ATI drivers to 13.12. I am an old user who has always known that the updates were generally a good thing to do. Got the same problem as many others with PC don't screen not wake from sleep.

Thought I'd do a recovery from disk, but after trying various combinations (Ctl + F11, F8, F12 etc.) I couldn't find a way to start into the recovery console. I did my DVD recovery and the laptop works very well.

Does anyone know how to add a boot on the recovery partition option in the UEFI bios? I undersstand I need to create a new boot option with "Add boot option" and the two options available are 1st start (windows EFI) or 2nd (recovery partition), but does not know the path to the efi recovery file to load (+ you can access the recovery partition to see the content of windows). Any suggestions?

Still have not found a manual BIOS, but anyway. I found a combination of drivers for graphics work and allow the smoothly sleep function.

  • No sound coming through the headset - inspiron 3537

    Hi guys,.

I have a computer dell laptop inspiron 3537. When I plug my headphones into the Jack, I get no sound in the headphones and the sound continues to play through the speakers.

    How to solve this problem?

    concerning

Hello. Go to the Inspiron 15 3537 support page. Select your operating system from the drop-down list. Expand the audio category. Download & install a new copy of the Realtek audio driver.

Who will correct any configuration problem. Test Socket. If no change then switch the native Windows audio driver.

    1. open Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the box of Windows search).
    2. develop the 'audio controllers, video & game' and right click on "Realtek High Definition Audio".
3 Select this option to "Update driver software".
    4. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
    5. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
    6. put the "Show compatible hardware" check box if not already checked.
    7. in the list of devices, click on 'High Definition Audio"(native driver).
    8. click on "next".
    9. in the update driver warning box, click 'Yes' (the driver).
10 restart the portable computer if you are prompted. If not invited, so no need to restart.
[To return to the Realtek driver, do it again but reverse the names in steps 1-6.]

If no change even with native audio driver and you have tried different headphones, then probably a hardware failure. Contact technical support

for repairs if still under warranty.

  • Pregnant with my Dell laptop inspiron 3537 went silent

I just bought my new laptop a laptop DELL INSPIRON 3537 a month ago and I had no problems before. Yesterday I was with my webcam and after discussing with my friend, I closed the program and picked up the phone and went back to my room, I plugged in the charger and started playing wow, and when he started my left speaker was already dead. I tried to reinstall the drivers found on the official site of dell and tried other programs to update the driver, but none of them solved the problem. When I plug my phone to ear/head, they work very well. IM out of ideas please help me!

Hello. When you get audio through the correct helmet but none through speakers, and reinstall the audio driver does not correct (relocation restores the default configuration and resolve any configuration problem), then it is a hardware failure and you need to contact Technical Support.

There are 3 problems that can expose your symptoms - the speakers are disconnect, failure, or impedance detection mechanism in the headphone jack fails. If you are interested in trying to cut down you can run the tests in ePSA.

    1. reboot the computer.
    2. immediately at the Dell logo screen, start typing the key until the start time menu appears (if the computer starts Windows shut down the computer and try again).
    3. in the start time menu, press the arrow of to highlight Diagnostics, PSA + or Enter ePSA, then press to start the PSA.
Look for a "Make Quick Check" Audio button on the lower side right of the screen of the main menu of ePSA. Press the button and check if you can hear sound from the speakers.

If you do not "Perform Quick Check Audio" button then this. Start the PSA tests, and when he runs the test of the colors it will ask you if you see the color bars on the screen. Deliberately fail the test by not answering any (press key "n") instead of Yes. When you do this the PSA test emits a series of beeps. Listen to the beeps.

If you do not hear the tones or beeps means that the speakers were disconnected or failed.
If you do not hear the tones means that the speakers are working and are connected. In this case that the signal does not come by them because the circuits of detection in the headphone jack does not. When this happens, it prevents audio activation of the plug to the speakers.

The only other 'test' for this kind of problem is to restore the laptop to original factory settings using the restore image (Dell Factory Image Restore). Who cannot tell you exactly the problem, but it does not give a positive confirmation of hardware failure.

I'm sorry. If the laptop is still within the period of 21 days you can return. Otherwise, he must settle for a repair.

  • Inspiron 3537 discrete video card

Hello! I just bought a laptop Dell Inspiron 3537. Got a problem or a question, I don't know what it is exactly :) Thus, the laptop comes with pre-installed Win8.1. Of course, I deleted and installed Win 7 x 64 ultimate instead. I found and installed all necessary drivers, everything looks OK, but there is a mismatch in the material - all descriptions of the laptop I found on the Internet, including the Dell site, claim that it is equipped with integrated Intel graphics and discreet AMD 8670HD or 8850HD discreet card. But after the installation of the latest Catalyst driver package States in Device Manager that discreet video is card AMD R9 M265X. I wonder if it is due to a buggy driver or it is possible that I have mentioned in the last card? Thanks for the help in advance.

AMD was renumbering its GPU like A7 or A9 of the end - the 8850HD is the R9 M265x.

  • Dell Inspiron 3537, few problems

    Hello.

I have an old Dell Inspiron 3537 of a few weeks. Was first Win8, but I have the update Win8.1.

After that I signed up for laptop computer, the next step was to my C: partition on both sides of the partition, partition C (OS) and D (Data). After that, I installed successfully all the programs I need. And after a few days problems began with a few BSoD. There are few problems and I'll explain all of them.

My Dell checkup "troubleshooting blue screen" reports every day one or more BSoD with explanation:
"The unknown hit-and-run driver (C:Windows/system32/drivers/atikmdag.sys) seems to have caused a system crash. Perform the tasks below to help prevent unexpected stops in the future".

On the same health check of my Dell, I try to run "PC Checkup", and everything seems OK, no reported problem. A personalized analysis on a single card, ATI (ATI Radeon HD8850) video and the result is 'passed '.
I run also build in DELL diagnostics (boot menu) and there were no errors, and also Dell diagnostics online and everything was fine.

I try to install the new driver from DELL (AMD Radeon HD 8850 M pilot 13.151.0.0) website, but during the installation screen blinked several times and then went away. I think it's OK because the video driver installed. I left phone for an hour to "complete installation", but noting happened. I turned off laptop by pressing ON / OFF button for 5 seconds, but after this laptop won't restart. Here, I noticed another problem that I will share with you in the moment. Fortunately, I have installed Acronis True Image 2014 so I was able to restore a system. BTW, same version of the driver is already installed according to the "MSINFO32).

Now, my system works, I still see the BSoD warning in my Dell Checkup, but actually I don't really see this BSoD. Strange.
If I click with the right button on the desktop and then click on "Property Graphics" or "Configure switchable graphics", I get this warning:

Second problem. My laptop during "BLACKOUT" explained beforehand, I tried to use Windows Recovery. I tried "Refresh" and "Resettlement" and both times I got the message:

"Could not find the recovery environment. "Insert the recovery media or your Windows installation and restart your PC with the media.

If I try to use "Backup and recovery of Dell", I received the message:

"Dell backup / restore could not detect the Partition Recovery on this computer." It may be missing or damaged. To recover your computer to the original factory condition and restore the recovery partition, please use your system recovery disk"etc. etc...

I don't have any coz discs that OS was preinstaled. So, basically I can't use all the facilities to recover my laptop because I have no media or recovery factory recovery disc. Fortunately, I'm using Acronis, but it's not a point. I want something to recover my original system, factory condition.

In fact, Windows catering facilities are OK and I can restore to a point, I created.

BTW, my hard drive is partitioned on 7 partitions. Initially, there were 6 partitions with immense C: partition. I shared this one on two.

And also, since this BSoD is probably caused by the video driver, how can I safely to update this driver. As explained previously, I had after the first test disaster. Can I try to install the new driver for AMD Radeon HD 8850 M from the ATI site?

Sorry for the question so long. If you have additional questions, I'll be more than happy to answer.

I hope that I will get answers, thanks in advance!

Try to download a new copy of Windows 7 Realtek audio driver for the Inspiron 15 3537 oft and see if it still gives you the context menu. Is the only driver Win7 Realtek Dell just to present to your model, so if you still get the same right choice popup an option then go the the playback and the recording of the sound Properties tab and manually select a default device in each tab. The computer sees the headset as 2 devices in any case, not only a single unit.

  • Can I install Mac on my Dell Inspiron 3537 i5?

as they say on Tittle. What I install Mac on my laptop or it's good for dell lap - top for install this OS :), and if I can't, it's better for windows 8.1 or Windows 7? Ty for your time and I hope that someone will answer my question :)

Mac OS is locked for Mac hardware. Some people supported the hack to install it on the hardware Dell, but its not recommended and certainly not taken. If you want something like Mac OS, you can install Linux since its essentially a commercial version of Linux.

Windows 8.1 is recommended on this system and the system should have been delivered with Windows 8.1. 8.1 Windows has a default terrible user interface and this should be changed following the instructions here:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows/a-clean-install-of-Windows-8-1/customising-Windows-8-1/

Although Windows 7 has a better user interface, Windows 8.1 will perform better and you won't need to download > 200 updates. Also in late summer that all Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 computers will be auto-updated Windows 10 (which sets the user interface of Windows 8.1) so there is little sense in making a full install of OS to get Windows 7 and not worth the price of a separate license of Windows 7 for only a few months of use.

If you're curious, you can install Windows 10 Technical Preview:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Microsoft-Windows-and-Office/Download-Microsoft-Windows/download-Windows-10-technical-preview-ISO/

It is recommended to do the recovery with Dell Backup and Recovery Media by following the instructions here before installing another version of Windows or Linux:
