Activate the touch screen capabilities fresh Windows 8.1 Install - Dell XPS 15 9530

So, I had one that I puzzled. I just got a new Dell computer yesterday and as I did the last 10 + years, I install a copy fresh retail because, like most people, hate dealing with their additional software and prefer a clean install, so I don't just not deal with uninstallation, etc.. It turns out that that may have been a bad idea. After that the installation has been made, touch no longer works on the screen. I installed the drivers from the Dell site without success. The Device Manager has no missing material and all windows updates are up-to-date. Intel recognition system stylus and touchscreen capability there. I also checked the settings Pen and Touch on the contact tab and everything seems to be OK (everything I compare these parameters on is a Dell coming Pro 8, but they are the same). My suspicion and I might be away on this, is that I use a copy rather than the OEM of Windows 8.1 copy retail. I got tired of a Pro and a regular retail (Yes, two legal copies) and none worked. I don't know that new computers have the key embedded in the uefi (bios). I tried to install with or without the embedded key substitution. But it's the only thing I can think of and I hope you guys had a few ideas or someone else has had this problem and can help me to solve the problems. Model: Dell XPS 15 9530 with QHD touchscreen monitor +. Update: I discarded retail vs oem fresh installs. I tried an installation using backup/restore of Dell disks. Same deal. It is to be some sort of setting or driver who is not on their site.

I cannot yet understand what has gone wrong, but Dell pulled out and swapped the screen out and it works perfectly. I swear it worked out of the box, so I have no idea how the material do not so fast, but the good news is that it is fixed!

I looked at the specs from your laptop to a lot of Web sites. Yours is not a portable touchscreen.  In a notebook of the touch screen the screen has two main parts. Upgrade of the screen, so it works will be quite expensive.

  • How to activate the touch screen?

I have a new laptop which is Acer Aspire V5-471P-33214G50Mass, and I can't seem to do the touch screen works.

The internet said that I should check the box with use your finger as an input device option. But as you can see from the screenshot I included, there is no option for me to do. What can you propose to solve this problem, the touch screen no matter where just gives no response or comments, it does not work.

But im sure that the material is thin and undamaged, because on the first week, we bought it, it works very well, and there was no physical impact or a trauma that strikes my laptop.

    Hi Jules,.

Thanks for posting this topic on the Microsoft Community Forums.

From the description, I understand that you are having problems to make your touch screen to work and that, when you try to activate your finger as input in the settings of the stylus and touchscreen device, the option is missing.

Could you please try the following steps for me:

    1. Press the Windows key + R , and type Control Panel in the dialog box.
    2. The type of Troubleshooting in the search bar and click on Troubleshooting.
    3. Click hardware and sound, click hardware and devices.
    4. Follow the steps in the wizard to run the troubleshooter.
  • How to activate the touch screen HP Pavilion Touch Smart (10-e010nr)

The list of features on the HP website says that this laptop has a touchscreen, but the first time that I booted up (new with box), it doesn't seem to work.  I have run Windows Update and installed all security and optional updates.  I also installed all video updates from the HP support page.  What can I do else?  It has touch screen or not?  It had pre-installed Windows 8.1.  Thank you!

Last night I did the reset complete back to factory settings... erase all files and reinstall Windows 8.1.  It took several hours.  It did not touch screen feature.  I also tried pressing F2 at startup and running the diagnostics on all of the touch screen.  He failed and gave me an error code.  As the computer is still under warranty (I don't have possession for another week yet), I talked to HP technical support on live chat and gave him the error code.  He said he must be sent to HP for service.  Since I live on a military base that, he told me that I must call their number of military sales to the United States.  When I called them, they were closed.  I won't and I'll try to return it to the base exchange where I bought it.  Thanks for trying to help me solve this problem.  I guess that's just DOA.

  • the touch screen works on windows 8 portable touchsmart

I just got a new HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14 Sleekbook and the touch screen no longer works on it. How can I make it work again?

Have you contacted HP?  I ask because first of all it is a HP device.

Contact HP should be the first thought you have, in my opinion.  They sold you the device as a whole... it not "happened" to come with Windows, HP put out there.

  • Major problem with the touch screen after upgrade Windows 10

I bought a Lenovo Yoga 3 14 "a few weeks ago and upgraded to Windows 10 as soon as I got it.

Since I started using it, the touchscreen will be occaisionally go "crazy". Crazy is the best way I can describe it because it will start input touch by ignoring or doing his own random touch input on the screen. Nothing the laptop will start to switch between windows and opening and closing of the things.

This laptop is not running Windows 8.1 long enough for me to know if she has had this problem before the upgrade.

    Any ideas?

  • How can I activate the touch screen with remote desktop

I have an Asus ep121 windows 7 home tablet Office remotely to a desktop windows 7 Professional.

Remote Desktop is not recognized any touch gesture. Windows 7 has a touchscreen native, is backing anyway to force the remote computer to accept the touch input of the Tablet?

    Hello

Windows 7 has a native touch screen probably support in that. Affect the gesture is unfortunately not possible on desktop connection remotely.

When a remote desktop session is established between two computers (one with the ability to touch and others with no possibility of touch) as in your case. It may not be a chance to access a computer able to touch with your desktop capable of non-contact, although Windows 7 is touch wiz compatible.

In order to use the touch features or programs, both computers must be installed with equipment able to touch. For example a touch screen, Touch pad, etc.

Without compatible hardware on both computers by touch, touch capable desktop connection between two computers remotely maybe isn't possible.

The only way to create an able to touch Remote Desktop connection is by installing equipment to touch interface on your desktop.

Provide us additional information. So that we can help solve you the problem on your computer.

    Hope this information helps you.

  • HP ENVY 15-ae178ca laptop: I disabled the touch screen on my laptop HP ENVY how I get it back?

I have disabled my touch screen, how do I get it back on?

    @scoop58

Welcome to the Forums of HP,
    I hope you're well

I understand that the touch screen no longer works after upgrade to windows 10,
don't worry, however, as I have a few steps that should solve your problem:

To activate the touch screen driver in Device Manager:

    1. In Windows, locate and open the Device Manager.
    2. Expand the Human Interface Devices section.
    3. The touchscreen device is labeled HID-compliant screen touch, or similar. Right click on the touch screen device.
    4. If the option to activate the device is included in the menu, click Activate.

    Keep me posted,

    Kind regards

  • How to temporarily disable the touch screen in Windows 8? TouchSmart 320-1122la

    TouchSmart 320-1122la

    64 bit of Windows 8

This solution does not work for me because I don't have the option "Use your finger as input device."

Go to the sounds and then hardware and Control Panel.

Select the Pen and Touch and go to the contact tab.

At the top is "Use your finger as input device."  Uncheck the box.

Click apply and then click OK.

    Is there another solution?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a HP TouchSmart 320-1030, so it can work on your TouchSmart:

    1. Press Windows + X logo.
    2. Select Device Manager from the list.
    3. Click on the small arrow next to Interface devices to expand the list.
    4. Click the touchscreen driver (in my case, Voltron NextWindow touch screen).
    5. Right click and select disable from the list.
    6. Click Yes in the dialog box that asks you if you are sure you want to disable the touch screen driver.

When you want your touchscreen to work again, follow the above procedure, EXCEPT when right-clicking on the touch screen driver, select enable.

  • line of t440s on the touch screen of Windows 8

When I move my finger on the touch screen on my new T440s Windows 8 machine, a thin dark line about an inch long follows my finger - as much as I move it. Someone at - it ideas?

Thanks a lot for the answers. Yes, it looks like the tail after the finger in the videos. But I followed the advice sub - turn off 'Visual Show' in the box of Pen and Touch, and it worked. No more of the tail. Great fix and easy. I arrived at the right screen by writing just Pen and Touch in the search function of Windows 8.

    Thanks again.
