Activation of Win. 7 home Premium Upgrade version, error 0xC004F061
So my computer had a lot of questions, and I decided to do an installation scratch because most of my Windows features was dead; Windows repair did not work, backup was broken and updater has problems, not to mention the entire system would break several times a day. Painful stuff. I think I finally got the question down so that there is a mistake in my SSD, so I did a zeros on it, threw it and bought a new one.
After having to reinstall it using my disc to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium x 64, I tried to activate my new installation - as would any rational user. The thing is, I get the error 0xC004F061 with the description "The Software Licensing Service determined that the specific product can be used only for the upgrade, not own facilities." until I do? This has been upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows XP more than two years ago, and I don't want to just remove, install XP and then update to Windows 7 new; This is ridiculous. I think that I could even make a reinstallation of Windows with these discs without problem before mid-term, but I don't remember exactly.
In fact, my problem is the following:
-My computer died and needed an installation from scratch on a brand new SSD.
-Only a copy of Windows 7 I have is this version upgrade.
-Windows refuses to activate my version of upgrade.
-What to do?
Kind regards
-Richard

I bought a Windows 7 upgrade for $99 at Dell when I bought a new computer Win 7 and am finally getting around to upgrading my Vista Business. The reason for road upgrading rather than clean install was to avoid reinstalling all applications, a major, major time sink, even if I find all the drives in application. Is the upgrade to Win 7 Home Premium.
After starting the upgrade, he stopped, telling me that I can only switch to Win 7 Pro, Ultimate or enterprise. For the upgrade to proceed, told me that he needed a clean installation and that I would then have to re - install all the applications. I looked on the Microsoft site, trying to find how to set my Windows 7 Pro upgrade disc, but I have been unable to find how this could be done after through many convolutions of web pages.
Could someone tell me please how to put my Win 7 Home Premium Upgrade disk to a Windows 7 Pro upgrade disc?
Thank you very kindly for any response.
I guess it depends on what side of the coin of your on. If someone bought the Windows 7 Pro upgrade, whereas they would have only a single lane of evolution, which is the more common scenario.

Activation of Windows 7 Home Premium Retail Version complete
Nice day...
I have a question of kwik on my Windows 7 Home Premium Retail Full Version. I didn't install it since July of 2013.
I bought it in May 2011, brand new at sears.com. During this period of May 2011 - July 2013, I had it installed
on, in total, 3 different offices computers (NOT at the same time... Still, I uninstalled Windows 7, as with all Microsoft OSs, before installing it
on another system). In July 2013, I upgraded my motherboard and I had more money I decided to buy another Windows 7
Home version Premium OEM full for this motherboard. Yes, for a little over a year, I had a 'spare' Windows 7 Home
Premium full retail version disk. I contacted Microsoft support by phone, chat, e-mail, etc. over the past
year to see if it is genuine. I have not kept a full track of results, but 'about' just less than
50% of contacted Microsoft experts say that it is authentic and about a little less than 50% say that it is authentic, BUT it must be
activated by phone. Unfortunately, some even said that it was genuine and non-genuine and that it is authentic,
I have to pay about $150 for one year of support. Who is not called a scam? The issue is, basically, can I use itdrive for the full retail Version that I bought it like?
It works perfectly, the product key is valid, but half Microsoft agents I spoke on this subject, although they all say that it is authentic, the other half say it is valid, but I have to pay a "tax of support" to activate it.
Have a great day!
....... Jimmy Nelson
Full retail version
Can be transferred to any computer and reactivated as long as it is removed from the previous computer, it is installed on.
OEM System Integrator
The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:
-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft
-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on
-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard
-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system
Some people have gotten the reinstalled and reactive without problems, it is just that, regarding the license agreement, his is not consistent.
As for the authenticity of the it, Yes, its true, how to use it is another matter. As noted by the above rules, if you have been move to different systems and motherboard, it is used in accordance with the license agreement. It does not have the same rights of transfer as the full retail version, you bought originally.
Another question would be, if these rules are applied? NO.

problem with upgrade from xp to win 7 Home premium
After an update from xp to win 7 home premium and unable to play games, I found that xp and win 7 Home premium are not compatible. Is it possible to install vista (well that it may not be registered on this pc because I will only be borrow) then directly upgrade to win 7 Home premium?
Have you tried to install the games in Mode "compatibility"?
What is program compatibility?
Program compatibility is a mode in Windows that allows you to run programs written
for earlier versions of Windows. Most programs written for Windows Vista are also running Windows 7,
but some older programs might run poorly or not at all.

How to activate Win 7 Home Premium SP1 if I have a product key for Win 7 Home Premium without SP1
I bought the Dell with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium computer. I recently had a problem with the firewall system and found that the only solution is to reinstall Windows. I downloaded .iso with Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 because my current version has been already upgraded to SP1. After that I installed it, it asked me to enter the product key. I have provided the product key, but he says it's a bad touch and I realized that my product key must be for Windows 7 Home Premium without SP1.
I downloaded .iso with Windows 7 Home Premium without SP1, but I can't install it now because it says that my current version is newer than the one I am trying to install. What can I do about it now? Can I get a product key for Win 7 Home Premium SP1 if I have Win 7 Home Premium? Service pack 1 is free anyway...If you have downloaded a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 integrated, you should be able to use the product key located on the COA sticker in the battery compartment.
Skip entering product key and complete the installation.
Click Start, right click on computer
Click on properties
Scroll down to the Windows Activation
Click on the link 'change product key '.
Enter the product key located on the COA sticker attached to the bottom of your laptop or in the battery compartment. Click next to activate via the Internet.

Satellite A660 - update: Win 7 Home Premium to Ultimate
I just bought A660 preloaded with Windows Home Premium 64-bit.
I would switch to Ultimate 64 bits because I need additional features.
I would like to know how to upgrade to Ultimate with a pack of detail without deleting all Toshiba drivers and characteristics.Any suggestion will be welcome!
Hello
You can buy a Microsoft Upgrade.
But to be honest, that I recommend to buy a full version of Win 7 Ultimate and do a clean install. The advantage is that you could install this without early installation of Win 7 Home premium.
For example; If you purchase an upgrade you will need to first install Home Premium and you need to improve this OS to ultimate. This can be annoying if anything goes wrong with OS and you need to install it again
If you buy a ultimate full version, then you can install this OS immediately and directly without having to install Home Premium first.PS: the drivers are the same for Home Premium and Ultimate.

How to make a Win Vista Home Premium PC to operate in "XP Mode"?
Hello
My Win Vista Home Premium PC cannot 'see' my Canon Lide 30 Scanner or work with my Canon printer i865. Install the software and drivers on the provided disks not even because of "compatibility issues".
For this reason the "updates available" on the Canon site (for applications and drivers on the disks) only will be not installed because 'old' versions are not on my pc.
My pc can 'see' - if that is the right word - my printer in settings, but no further acknowledges that this, and even when the printer is turned on it will not even try to print anything.
If I can still understand how to get the Vista pc to "run in xp mode" - assuming there is an 'xp mode' for Windows vista to use - this will allow my computer to use the printer and scanner.
There is nothing really wrong with the printer or scanner while they worked fine with the XP pc.
Software compatibility problems are more precisely to do with two pilots and the ocr software for the scanner and ALL the drivers and the software of the printer.
I hope someone can help because I don't want to have to get a different printer/scanner (or upgrade to Win 7 - will this regognise OS my printer and scanner?)
These options are all too expensive.
Thanks for any help
Bob
Hello Bob,
Compatibility mode is supposed to help eleviate problems not to cause even more problems :-)
You can actually get some decent printer/scanner price FRO reasonable combinations of our days. You could try (if in the United Kingdom) is Wilkinson (Wilko) stores; W.H.Smith; and Ryman.
Another alternative is to dual-boot your server (assuming you have aretail copy of XP). This invloves XP install on another partition on your hard drive. The only drawback is that you would have to boot XP to use your printer (assuming that you keep your current).
I currently have a brother printer copy Scanner that I bought the Ryman stationery, a few years ago. I only paid about £50 for it at the time. My only problem with the brother machine is that there is no way (on my model in any case) to turn the printer off cleaning option. As the PC and the printer are in my room the printer starts always clean at about 04:00. It is not fun to be surprised into a deep sleep by strange noises coming from the printer :-)
