Just upgraded my computer asus laptop k55a - win 7 Home premium pre-installed - for win 7 pro, using anytime upgrade. The computer was purchased about 2-3 years ago.
What intrigues me is that he never asked me for a win 7 pro key. I activated windows and thought he would ask me at least during activation, but no. Not that I have a problem with it, but, why is this?
It bothers me that I do not understand the process. If I knew more I would have done things a lot differently, as do not go to any installed on other partitions etc. That came with a lot of trouble.
With the help of the Express Upgrade Wizard does not prompt you for a product key because its all made the Internet. You should have been sent the product key in case you need to reinstall.
Will send me you a confirmation email with my product key?
Yes. An e-mail containing your product key will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your Windows Live ID account or e-mail address you provided if you ignored the account configuration. I bought a Windows 7 upgrade for $99 at Dell when I bought a new computer Win 7 and am finally getting around to upgrading my Vista Business. The reason for road upgrading rather than clean install was to avoid reinstalling all applications, a major, major time sink, even if I find all the drives in application. Is the upgrade to Win 7 Home Premium.
After starting the upgrade, he stopped, telling me that I can only switch to Win 7 Pro, Ultimate or enterprise. For the upgrade to proceed, told me that he needed a clean installation and that I would then have to re - install all the applications. I looked on the Microsoft site, trying to find how to set my Windows 7 Pro upgrade disc, but I have been unable to find how this could be done after through many convolutions of web pages.
Could someone tell me please how to put my Win 7 Home Premium Upgrade disk to a Windows 7 Pro upgrade disc?
Thank you very kindly for any response.
I guess it depends on what side of the coin of your on. If someone bought the Windows 7 Pro upgrade, whereas they would have only a single lane of evolution, which is the more common scenario.

Project content will not be updated for preflight
Demo version of DPS
I have a project that originally had a single article in the default collection.
The article has a HTML converted using Packager article HTML.
The preflight application worked and I could see that article.
After the change of the whole project and clicking on the button control prior to the update, it will not update.
Finally, the image of the project to date about 2 days later.
However, the original article is still there and all other collections / objects are not.
I went as far as the deletion of the original article, and it still shows.
What I have read you can not delete a project again.
So, how to update?
For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
I find that at the start of projects are first of all, it can be difficult to work with, especially when you make some drastic past the content/collections/ordering. I find that a bit of drastic treatment helped, or at least I think that's the case.
Yesterday, I tried to start a draft prepared for a demo. I wanted to delete top-level _tout_, so I could show the error state when you have nothing in the upper level. But wouldn't let go of my apps control ahead of what was there.
I found that I needed to force to leave the app, it was fairly drastic to improve the application pick up the current state of things.
(I did what I wanted on items, collections, maps and diagrams - order then click Preflight.) Then I force - quit the application, and on the restart, I saw what I expected.)
I think that some of this aid to drastic measures because when you have a really basic configuration (not that an article on the upper level) it's really hard changing views to get the update notice. Some would say "background/foreground app" - and who could do it, but I find a good old force quit, that's where I'm going.

Will not download updates for Windows 7
My machine tells me there are 17 downloads available, but when I try to download the green progress bar tells me something's happening, but nothing ever happens
You receive errors related to updates?
- Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button, all programs and then click Windows Update.
- In the left pane, click view update history.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/see-which-Windows-updates-are-installed - Find an update for Windows that has failed to install, and then double-click the update to view more information.
Updates that have failed to install will display failed under status, next to the name of update. - In the Windows Update dialog box, next to the details of the error, review the error code for the update has failed.
Follow the links in the Windows Update dialog box under more information or help and Support to resolve the problem, then try to reinstall updates by using Windows Update in Control Panel or by mail with the error code and maybe someone may be able to help others.

I bought a copy the retail of Windows 7 premium (updated version) upgrade on Vista Home Premium SP2on my 3 yr old HP Pavilion Desktop on 22/10/2009. Vista has been installed at the factory. The PC more than meets all hardware reqs. I tried 4 or 5 times to upgrade the operating system on this PC & it runs fine until the process to halfway in step 5 in the upgrade and stops. I forgot the exact message, but it's like 'cannot be upgraded pc, abandoned process, will now restore the Vista installation. After this x 4-5 in the last seven days, I'm sick of what's going on. I've been building & PC repair & installation, configuration, and upgrade Windows since Windows 3.1 and Dos operating system. The Win 7 installation routine is so demanding that if all the program requirements are not met (for the latter)-it just stops and is abandoned. I've never had this kind of trouble before. NEVER Yes, I use the on-line support docs & Software Advisor compatibility. I've never seen an OS that just works! Absolutely amazing! I also tried this on my computer Lenovo laptop lastnight - same thing!
Hi Jim,.
Thanks for the information. You said you ran Upgrade Advisor several times on both machines. This show no error every time? Also, I would recommend unisntalling any antivirus that you have currently and to help clean up the provided utilities if any, of the antivirus manufacturer. In addition, unplug all unnecessary devices such as printer, network cable or any other devices you have.
I hope this helps!

I have 64 bit laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. I just bought a new Windows 7 Professional and legal (OEM) version. How he use to upgrade my version of Windows 7 and keep all my files installed in program files and information? In other words, not a clean install!
Unfortunately, there is no option to do an upgrade, because what you have is an OEM license.
Please note that the Express upgrade does not support OEM, MSDN-Academic, Volume (the student faculty licenses) license. If you are in possession of all these brackets, you will need to save and do a custom clean install. If you want to do it, please backup your Windows 7 Home Premium or according to edition currently installed.
http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/
If you want to keep your programs and files, you will need to use a full version or upgrade Windows 7 professional retail license and use the key with the Express upgrade.
OR
Purchase an upgrade with anytime
First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click the option to purchase a key. Wait while loading of the Express Upgrade page, click on the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade to buy it.
Click Next, fill in your details (it is important that you do this because the product key will be sent to you as a backup in case you need to reinstall) enter your credit card information, click next to begin the upgrade, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement , click upgrade, wait while the software updates, (it may take 10 minutes or more, depending on the case, updates are required), your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify its update of the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a windows will pop up by notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional, your files, programs and settings stored, proceed to activate Windows 7 Professional.

I have a PC Pavilion Elite HPE 450 t, and a few months ago he ceased to accept automatic updates from Microsoft downloads.
I tried to use the tools that Microsoft has nothing helped.
Some time after, my Norton Security software security suite failed and wouldn't charge. Norton failed to find a solution. I guess it must do something with the heavy backlog of unloaded updates.
? Is it possible to load windows 10 on win 7?
I got my PC tested for viruses, root kits and it is clean, but updates are still not loading.
Honestly, I'd appreciate any help that you folk can provide. Thanks in advance

Hi there @LROSZKOW,
I hope you find your experience of positive Support Forum! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you have had problems with the updates of Windows and want to know if you can upgrade to Windows 10. I'm happy to help you with this.
Reading the questions you have described in your current system that you cannot upgrade to Windows 10, using the normal method of free upgrade. Your system should have the option available from a previous update of Windows, as the free update is delivered via Windows update. If you have a Windows 7 or 8.1 product key, then you could do a clean install of Windows 10 and use this key to activate your Windows 10 free documents. Of course, you want to first make a backup of your data.
Another option would be to try to load the original image from the desktop computer, and then try to update again by using Windows Update. This assumes you have a working recovery partition or recovery media. Computers HP - performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7) But to protect your data, you want to make a first backup as I mentioned.
Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

How can I replace the corrupted Win 7 Home Premium on my G71 with Win 7 Pro?
The Win 7 Home Premium OS came with my Pavilion G71-340US laptop is damaged and must be reinstalled. Rather than reinstall Win 7 Home Premium, I want to install Win 7 Professional - I bought. I have Win 7 Home Premium recovery disks, when I came to the computer. The professional Win 7 I like an installation disk (.) ISO file).
What is the best way to do it? I can just do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro? If so, how to install the drivers for the laptop? I searched the knowledge base information, but could not find anything on a Win 7 reinstall / update. Thank you.
All of your drivers must be posted on your support page of models which can be found by clicking on the link titled 'Support' at the top of this page. You will need to "full" (not only G71) model number or product number as indicated on the attached at the bottom of the laptop Service tag, can be under the battery. You can also get the info by pressing the FN and ESC together.
To install Windows 7 Pro read the article here. Page 9-15 including explain removal of partitions for a new installation of Windows on:

Jabber comments does not work with Expressway 8.7.2
Hello the last Highway requires Diffie-Hellman keys at least 1024 bits in size. Unfortunately comments Jabber always uses 768bits as the 'server Temp key' on tomcat. This is why you cannot use Jabber comments (any version; I tried 10.6.9 and 10.6.10)
