Activation of Windows 7 Upgrade Version after clean installing forced

While the reconstruction of my computer, the hard disk on which Windows Vista was installed has failed and I was forced to do a clean install of Windows 7. I was in the process of upgrading to Windows 7 at the time, but I've owned a copy of Windows 7 upgrade and now the software doesn't recognize my product key for a clean install. Is there anyway that I can use my Windows Vista and Windows 7 product keys to activate my operating system?

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

Enter the product key

Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

    Activation of Windows 7 (upgrade) after clean reinstall

    Hi guys,.

    I have the problem with the Windows 7 upgrade version. I was with WIn 7 months with no problems. Win7 was installed on windows Vista in my case.
    But a few days ago, I decided to do a clean reinstall (from scratch, formatted HARD drive).

    The installation was funny until I got the error message telling me that my key is not for the clean install and I can't activate the system. I just left the empty key field and open windows.

    I thought that I activate the system in 'normal' mode not during the installation. So I now fully installed Windows 7 and I can't activate it - because the installation was made not M$ ' mroper way "." Very funny so the "right way" is to install windows Vista and upgrade to windows 7?

    The system has been enabled on this PC (the same harware 100%) before, so I can't do this again? I can not show same Vista installation CD, etc. installation key?

    Is there another way to activate it?

    Thank you

    On my new computer, I have 2 updates of isnatll 1:
    (1) Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)
    (2) update for Windows XP (KB898461)

    When I try to install them by using "Windows Update" or "Microsoft update" I get the following error code: Error Code: 0 x 80246002

    someone meet souch problem?
    When google for a solution based on this error code I found nothing.

    Thank you very much for your help,
    see you soon

    What were the problems you saw that you thought a "clean install" of Windows XP could solve?

    This "clean install" included formatting the HARD drive?

    The "clean install" left you with WinXP WinXP SP1, WinXP SP2 or WinXP SP3 gold (no Service Pack)?

    What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

    A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a test free version comes preinstalled when you buy it and that would have been reinstalled, but invalid, when you did the clean install)?

    You receive an error code "0 x 80246002" when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates:

  • HP Pavilion Notebook 15-n203ex: 10 a Windows Activation failed after clean install

    To say things in a concise way, I bought a HP Pavilion Notebook with Windows 8.1 15-n203ex 64 bit pre installed.  On July 30, 2015, I upgraded my windows 8.1 to windows 10 which was provided as a free Microsoft Update and everything went fine except for a problem of display that has been fixed after installing the latest Nvidia drivers.

    Now, after about 30 days, I thought to do a clean install to my laptop with windows 10 and so downloaded ISO appropriate and my installation. After the installation of the new operating system, it is not Activated at all no matter what I do, I get an error to enter the CD key.

    Before you do a clean install of windows 10, using scripts from the internet, I received the Windows key from the registry that is unfortunately not be accepted by windows 10 now.

    Microsoft has informed if an upgrade is done Windows 8.1 for windows 10 there is no need to have a key during installation should be the key automatically from the Bios, correct me if I'm wrong.

    Please, help me to overcome this particular problem I am facing.

    Even after 20 days Activation took place so I decided to do a brief study of the issue and find me a solution.

    I solved the problem by downloading the 8.1 Windows 64 bit iso from Microsoft's Web site and installed. During installation, surprisingly the Installer did not ask the product key. Everything went very well and immediately after the update of the firt he invited upgrade me to Windows 10 I did happily.

    There are several applications available on the internet that provides you with the windows product key 8 or 8.1 from the Bios. Neosmart found to be the most simple and free to use without any malware.

    Now, my laptop is running 64-bit Windows 10 and fully active and up to date.

    Hope that this could be useful for someone like me.

  • XP installation after success (upgraded version) Win7 clean installation to activate Win7

    I made the mistake of creating discs MBR too small for one operating system other than XP or Linux. Shortly after installation, I've been unable to update my Win 7 due to lack of space on the hard disk (all programs, I could change the installation, were on a separate disk). This meant that I had to wipe the hard drive it repartition. I was under the impression that I could upgrade to Win 7 installed cleansing by putting the disc and having Windows check for this, as when I upgraded from ME to XP. (Yes, I realize now has the error of my ways.) Now, I need to fix it. Add to that, I have XP 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7.

    After contacting support Microsoft product, I was told that I could simply reinstall my XP and Win 7 would acknowledge that he was there and has set up the dual boot. This is not the case, as I suspected. In the reformat, I lost some data that I thought that I had saved and obviously didn't, this is why I don't really want reinstall Win 7 a third time after reinstalling XP.

    I have no windows.old due to reformat/repartition of my drive. Is there anything else I can do? (I am so tired of being penalized with DRM, activation etc for the purchase of software licensed because of all the pirates out there!)

    Any help and suggestions for this pathetically badly informed/less educated (Win7) want to be a geek?

    Hi David,

    Install and activate the original operating system provided with the computer first (I guess it's XP).

    Update to upgrade to Vista, then use the Vista product key that you used at the time to update (because it works now as you WILL upgrade and do not try to install only a facility full after an installed clean).

    Good luck!

    I should add that it is a slipstreamed SP1 version. I was able to get IE 11 installed without problem.

    Theres been a few problems with Windows Update with Windows 7 clean install for these last months... You can use the WSUS Offline Update Patch Windows 7, after that Windows Update works.

    However since your goal is to make your system a Pro 10 Windows device. You better just download an .iso Windows 10 TH2 and pure install directly with your Windows 7 Ultimate product key:

  • Windows 7 will be not updated after clean install

    I recently acquired a Vista laptop that I improved with a SSD and Windows 7 Professional.  After installation without incident on a new SSD and activation, I discovered that Win7 does not refresh the console update continues just search for updates and the CPU activity revolves around 50%.  I've linked several fixes on this site and others with no luck.

    I'm not a PC expert, but I (FINALLY) know what caused this problem and how to solve it!  , But first of all note that this is the solution for my WINDOWS 7 64-bit Home Premium just after a clean installation.  I don't know if this plan works for 32-bit systems or other 7s to win, but novel with minor changes and some research...?

    The part of Windows 7 that search updates would normally take 24 to 48 hours to complete his research.  You can tell that you have this problem, while you are waiting for the update search by CTRL-ALT-DEL, start the Task Manager, then watch TAB PROCESS, then click: show processes from all users.  Look down the list until you find a SVCHOST. EXE running by the SYSTEM which uses 50% or more of CPU and a large piece (73%) of memory.  Then, go to the window Windows Update of the control panel and it say to never look updates.  Then return to the Task Manager and KILL the big 50% fat process that you just found.

    MS produced a patch (patches of 2 k) that you can't normally without an update.  There is a way to download these files from 2 k, but then...

    You cannot install them normally without using WUSA (the stand-alone installation of Windows Update program).  And if you try to use it to install the patches, WUSA must begin a new search for 48 hours for updates before installing anything.  It is a circular trap!

    Click on the following link to download Windows6. 1 KB3102810-x 64.msu

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=49540

    Use the registration option, DO NOT RUN IT!

    Click on the following link to download Windows6. 1 KB3112343-x 64.msu

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=50023

    Use the registration option, DO NOT RUN IT!

    Look for these two files in your DOWNLOADS folder.  Copy them to your DESKTOP.

    Now to install them, you must use the stand-alone Installer, WUSA, BUT you must FORCE IT to do quite simply without looking for always.  Here's how:

    First of all, copy the following line exactly and completely:

    'C:\Users\Edmund\Desktop\windows6.1-kb3102810-x64.msu' /wuforce

    Click the start planet;

    Click in the search programs and files;

    Type: RUN

    (Make sure that you run as administrator)

    Click on the RACE to the top of the page, then right click on it and select PASTE;

    Replace Edmund regardless of your username;

    Press ENTER and let it roll.  After the installation is done, then...

    Copy the following line exactly:

    'C:\Users\Edmund\Desktop\windows6.1-kb3112343-x64.msu' /wuforce

    Click the start planet;

    Click in the search programs and files;

    Type: RUN

    (Make sure that you run as administrator)

    Click on the RACE to the top of the page, then right click on it and select PASTE;

    Replace Edmund regardless of your username;

    Press ENTER and let roll again.  Once the installation is complete, RESTART your computer.

    You should now be able to install the updates in the control panel and search for updates.  10 minutes or less, you should have a huge list of KBs to download and install.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.

    I suggest before you stop and install the updates, disconnect from the Internet, first.

    I also recommend that download you and install Service Pack 3 for Office 2003, then look for updates in the Help menu.

  • Can I use a product key UPGRADE from 32-bit Windows 7 to a new clean install of Windows 7 64-bit?

    In 2009, I upgraded my laptop from Vista to Windows 7 32 bit. This laptop recently died and is no longer in use.

    I am building a new computer and I want to install it on Windows 7 64 bit (there no initial operating system because it is a made to measure machine).
    Can I install Windows 7 64 bit on the new machine and then use the old product key, that I received in 2009, even though it was a upgrade for the 32-bit product key?

    If its a version upgrade, the answer is no.

  • ___Help send for free Windows 7 upgrade version Windows Vista Home

    I have problems to send for the free upgrade to windows 7 from vista, I bought a new compaq computer last yr. Someone gave me a free version of windows 7 to be sent to me as long as I apply before February 2010.

    But when I go to enter the codes that they need on the site (windows update), in that I can't find the right codes on my receipt or the box that my computer has been delivered.

    I tried with the codes they use on the site, but they do not seem to work.

    Does anyone have the correct codes, I need or can you tell me where to find them on the box / receipt?

    For new PC purchases, look for a Windows 7 Upgrade bid form in the package provided with your PC for redemption details. If you find any information on how to get the upgrade, contact the PC manufacturer if you purchased an eligible PC. It is very important that you keep the form that comes with your PC purchase. A good place to start the search for PC manufacturer contact information is on our Windows 7 upgrade Option page.

  • After clean install of Windows 7, Netflix and Internet TV plugin does not work on Windows Media Center.

    Original title: problem with Windows 7 Media center

    Is there anyway that I can replace the whole C:\Windows\ehome? There is a permissions issue, and I can't find a way to change the permissions...

    The only reason I want to do is I did a clean install of windows 7 and the plugin TV Pluzz.fr and the internet do not work on this computer and it seems to be no work around. But I have a PC where WMC works fine and I can replace the entire record of WMC and it should work like the other PC (I think).

    I could do if I ran linux or something, but I'm looking for something simple or a fix to this problem with WMC.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

    It is too bad to know the steps in my previous post did not help to solve the problem.
