  I use Lightroom 6 stand-alone on Windows 7 Pro.

  I have 3 catalogues, two of which are quite small. The largest catalog has thousands of images of 3 Canon DSLRs.

  It is this catalog that seems to provoke bursts of 1 sec of the disk activity, which may be almost continuous.

  It is also extremely boring, brrrr___brrrr___brrrr. I have 4 disks of the computer, but have failed to work on this disc is at the origin of the problem.

  I just got the upgrade PS 2015 CC done and concluded that the XMP files with Raw images to move them to their own database.  I open the bridge and chose edit > Camera Raw preference > went to select Camera Raw Database and got the following error message. 'Initial request of bridge is not Active. How can I solve this?

  I use a Mac with 5.7 of Lightroom which is configured to store all the metadata in the xmp files. The Lightroom Catalog is stored locally on the Mac and contains only references to images and their xmp files that are stored on a network device. There is another Mac with the same setup with a local separate Lightroom Catalog and access to the same images on the network device.

  At a starting point, the two Lightroom catalogs are identical - they refer to the same images on the network device and contain the same metadata.

  When I update the properties of the image on the first Mac, these changes are reflected in the xmp file. After using the option 'synchronize' with activated "metadata synchronization" on the second Mac, the modified image properties are visible on the second Mac. It is very good.

  However, when I create a virtual copy on the first Mac, I realize that the corresponding xmp file is updated. However, even after the synchronization, the virtual copy is not visible on the second Mac. I can change the properties of the image of the original image and get these changes replicated to the second Mac, but the virtual copies remain the first Mac.

  As far as I know, xmp does not contain information about the virtual copies. If this method to attempt to synchronize two catalogs will not work.

  Better you should use the file-> Export catalog on a single computer and then file-> import from another catalog on another computer.

  Work on a remote server, a small applescript to call a shell script grabs the path for the files 20 000 + 2000 + jobs in a little more than 5 minutes to interfere in my FMPro database. The only applescript would take 30 hours and has been getting interrupted by the Server timeouts.

  'Mdfind"Marc did not work for me, probably because I was failing at a different shell script language.  What works for me:

  If I change the layer in the document by adding or updating the XMP metadata, the document itself is not changed (not active not saving), so far if the document is closed without making another action that document such brands as amended, the data is lost.

• How to save metadata as .xmp .jpgs?

  In LR 2.5, I chose "save metadata to the .xmp files" in the catalog settings, and I did NOT choose "including developing parameters inside jpeg, tiff,...»  However, I notice that metadata are stored in .xmp files for photos in RAW format (which for me is. ORF, the Olympus RAW format).

  In JPEG format, metadata seems to be saved in the jpeg format.  It's not ideal in my situation, because when I save the pictures using rsync (or the time machine), all JPEG files, where I changed the metadata will be saved once again, causing a lot of data to back up, when a tiny .xmp would actually be enough.  Is there a way to make sure that JPEGs are inherently not affected, and all information is stored in the .xmp sidecar files?

  Second question: if I select "store all the metadata in xmp", what is this stored?  Whenever I make a change?  Or do I have to explicitly select the command 'Save metadata' a folder?

  RAWs reason are that only with sidecar XMP and jpg only, besides the fact it's easy to record metadata in jpg compared to the RAWs, is that when a camera takes snapshots RAW + JPG two files have the same name except for the extension and so when there is a XMP with the same name except for the extension It is not clear if its metadata was for RAW format or the JPG file.

  I'm on a PC, so don't know how does TimeMachine work, but a well-made backup stores the differences between the files, not the entire file, for each cycle and also use block checksums to see what parts of the file have changed, so there is no need to read all the backup file, or store entire folders as part of the backup process.

  There is a save metadata for the order of files and there is a metadata record automatically... preference.  Either we write things in the XMP for the RAWs or image files themselves for formats that support it.  I usually have automatically save... active metadata but I also explicitly write to the files before doing things like purging files from my main drive and lead away them to a backup device because LR seems to be the automatic metadata record... working in the background and it is never clear when it's over.

  So, I've been using a Apple Watch for a while and my number one problem is that 'Activity', I put together for the last year is not sync with the iCloud, so when I upgraded my iPhone 6 to iOS10 all my activity watch is gone. I tested this point last week and it seems that "Activity" app does not synchronize your data in the cloud, so if you lose your phone or your watch you will have to start all over again and latest data are lost.   After my Ipad iOS 10.0.2 update I could not activate because it says I am not access with the original Apple journal. Makes no sense. I bought the new Ipad in seven of 2013 Dabs.com. She has been linked to my Apple account 10 days ago (I deleted my profile by own Apple support Web site suggestion as a way to fix my problem, the other restoration/upgrade to the Ipad with ITunes update). I contacted the support of Apple (I have two numbers in case Apple). Asked Apple support to provide a proof of purchase I made. Told me now the reception that I provided does not correspond to my Ipad, but Apple isn't going to help with all the details to help to regularize the situation. The Ipad is mine and well was linked to my account from the date of purchase in September of 2013 until I removed it at the suggestion of site specific help from Apple. A software update on an Ipad that I own shouldn't stop me using it and then force me to prove that I admit actually before I use it again! I'm a professional businessman who uses it for meetings of the Council. I have a receipt for my camera and get treated like a kind of criminal.

  Lock activation occurs when the ID of original Apple blocking it does not match with your current Apple ID.

  I understand that as you have activated the Carplay, your iPhone will not connect to your car stereo via bluetooth. You can try to disable the Carplay on the device, and then test the bluetooth connection. Because you are trying to connect via clips and wireless at the same time, this can cause some problems.
