Active sharing - split a fla great teamwork easier

(It contains: a question for the best practices + comments and bug reports for sharing moment of the author)

I am currently working in a game with Flash Pro CC project. It consists in fact of several games (a handful) that use an fla as asset-source. So, he mixed content, all game-specific assets + general assets (for example, a lot of re-used user interface components).

We try to divide the fla in a fla General and separate flas (or "void FLAS") game-specific.

Specific STRATEGY must also contain general fla assets, but changes to the General fla must also assign the elements of lib in specific FLAS. And an auto-update feature is also required (for convenience).

NOTE: the source-fla general with the files to share has a size of 35 MB and contains about 600 symbols that are to be shared.

Here are my efforts / experiences to date:

On your help pages are provided as an indication: author-time share and share of Runtime.

I thought that the first Runtime does not share, is none the right choice, because it comes with the greatest effort of preparation (urls) + RSL-symbols must be bound to the ACE also, which is not necessary for a good part of our symbols. First I noticed that it must manually declare the origin target relationship of each single symbol which must be linked to a source file. (which means adjust the properties, then go to sourcefile + symbol in the library).

Is this a bug? In CS4, this was done automatically (just on the dough to a symbol of different fla). The entire workflow is so embarrassing that I feel that large scale of this feature is not recommended. Or am I missing something?

In any case, I wrote a jsfl script that takes care of this (for all elements of the symbol you want).

It seemed to work well in a small suitcase of test (fla with 250 KB, 13 MovieClips, 7 pictures).

But when I applied it to our project (file source 35 MB, 600 symbols) the script will not come in his term and used Flash more and more RAM.

Time to share a single symbol seems to have already more than 10 seconds.

But he did not also a bug that caused some of the 'want-to-be"- shared asset not properly replaced, but rather created new and were put in a directory 'Double points '.

After a little testing, I discovered, that this happens regularly to the nested symbols, while they were not shared until the symbol of the 'mother' was shared. At least, I think so.

Thus, this feature is suggested only the thin source with some symbols of low complexity files, which means 'no nested symbols'? (I'd really hate for us).

Hi Yves,

I could feel it can only fool you if you copy the rootclip of your source fla and paste it in your target fla. This is unnecessary and will create an active duplicate folder if you enable time author shares for the rootclip. (this is because you copied already manually all the elements of the lib in the target fla by sticking the rootclip)

Instead as I mentioned in my previous post, please create a new symbol of emptiness in the target fla and link to the source fla via author distribution rootclip in time.

Activity sharing said friends have no Apple watches

Try to set up the activity sharing on my iPhone and watch which were both upgraded to iOS 10 and watch OS 3. In enforcement activity, on my iPhone and on the sharing tab, I can see and share with my wife. However I have 2 other friends who have Apple watches (phones and watches the two update), but they do not appear in the proposed area and if I manually select them I get a message that says "could not send invitation. You can only share the activity with people who also have an Apple Watch."

I made sure both their contact information is correct and up to date including telephone numbers and e-mail addresses that relate to their Apple ID. Both phones of their watches are updated as I said but still no luck. My wife is able to collect 1 of them on the share of its activity. I even tried to delete my contact for this person record and my wife to share this contact record to the person she could see in the activity that I couldn't, but still no luck.

Is the system glitchy here, or is there something I'm missing?

I have read, it must be the Apple ID, so I asked my friend for the exact address and the same problem

Active shared review the file GUID

If a PDF file is enabled shared review and then the original PDF (not the shared review one) is copied and renamed and then shared review, the two will have the same GUID?

They will have all two same ID MASTER, but not the same INSTANCE ID.

PDF files have two pieces of identification. The original that was given at the time of creation and the other one which is changed whenever the document is updated. Activation for shared review will change this last (instance ID).

Analysis of low frequency - great obstacle, easy solution

I'm trying to analyze a signal between 0-2 Hz. The signal is a clean sine curve where the amplitude and frequency changes.

I wanted to use the ExpressVI which is called "Your measurement" as I am not that experienced with Labview.

I used a signal generator to simulate, and it seems that it works very well for signals above 10 Hz. lower than that returns the high frequencies and amplitudes of false.

Please help me out here. The signal I'm generating is sampled at 100 Hz, with n = 10.

Sharing activity with Apple Watch problem

I added a friend to my shared items Apple Watch and went through all the stages of acceptance.

However on my Apple Watch I can't see the results of my friend, but on my iPhone, I can see mine and theirs.

On my friends iPhone and Apple Watch, they can see my results of activity, but all mine read as zero.

I see that you have added a friend on your Apple Watch to share activities. On your Apple Watch you don't see the results of your friend, but you can see the you and the results of your friends on your iPhone. They see your activity on their iPhone as zero.

I just started using this feature myself. Watch OS 3 is really cool in how it allows you to share your activity with friends and family rings. I'm happy to help you with this problem.

Activity sharing requires iOS 10 and watch OS 3. If more than one Apple Watch associated with your iPhone, the sharing tab appear not in the activity until you update all your watches to watch OS 3.

If you are unable to add a friend, make sure you have a Apple Watch and that you have not added the maximum number of friends. You can add up to 25 friends.

If your iPhone can connect to the Internet and you are connected to iCloud, you can get the updates relating to the activities of your friends every day. If your iPhone can not connect for several days, or you disconnect from iCloud, you may see missing days.

Sharing of active command not available for users
I searched all day for some reason why my non-admin in Contribute 3 users can't insert images via the Insert-> option of Division of property. The command is dimmed. Their role permissions have "authorize unlimited edition", so I can't understand why they would be excluded from this shared good feature. I REALLY want to give these users full administrator privileges. They become tired to rerun new connection key everytime I try to chance a new setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It seems that by disabling the ability of the user to insert images (with the exception of shared property) is the way to go. As long as an administrator I was spoiled as I can insert images any way I chose (insert--> images, cut-and - paste and shared property). As a normal user, it's one or the other, either shared assets or Insert--> Images, not both.

So in order to give users the ability to access shared property, you must go and set "Allow unrestricted editing" then check the option 'prevent users to insert images. After that they activate the connection key it then only allows them to insert images in active sharing feature.

Why can I not see my rings of friends activity in the application of the activity

MY girlfriend and I have updated our watches to OS3 and our phones to ios 10. I want to be able to share our business segments while I travel. We set up the sharing in the application of the activity on our two phones properly, she can see my activity sounds, as well as its own however on my phone I can only see my rings. The application of activity is a great way to share your progress with friends and family! There are a few reasons why you are unable to see the activity and progress of your friend. It may be quite possible that activity can be deliberately hidden from your view. Or you can get an invitation that you have not agreed to your girlfriend to view activity pending. Printer sharing via LAN - EPSON XP-335

We use 3 Macs connected via LAN (Ethernet, we do not use Wi - Fi).

I have connected an EPSON XP-335 via USB to Mac #1, and it prints fine.

On all Macs, I installed the software EPSON printing and active "Sharing printers", via preferences > sharing.

but when I try to print from Mac #2 or #3 I get this message "not connected":

Please use the Apple Support communities for help. From your post, I understand that you are unable to access the printer that is connected to one of your iMac, others in the House. I know it's nice to be able to print from all of your devices, so I'm happy to help you to provide advice for this.

From the information you provided, it seems that there is some confusion about the way the printer is shared on your devices. In order to have a shared printer, you must only share from the computer to which it is connected. From there, you can connect to this printer with other computers. Perform these steps on the iMac to which it is attached:

How to share a printer:
1. Open sharing preferences if it is not already open (choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Sharing), then check the box print sharing.
2. Under printers, select the printer you want to share.
  
  When you share a printer, all users on your network ("everyone") can use by default. If you want to restrict access to specific people, go to steps 3 and 4.
3. Click on the button Add at the bottom of the users list, and then do one of the following:
  - Select a user in users and groups, that includes all your Mac users.
  - Select a user from the network or users groups network, which includes everyone on your network.
  - Select a person in your contacts. Create a password for the person, then click on create an account.
4. When you add people to the list of users, access to the shared printer is reset to no access for the users of your network ("everyone"). To provide access to everyone again, click the triangles, then choose can print.

Articles somehow helped, but just to let you know, when I go to 'Share with' option, for some reason any is that I've only got 'advanced sharing. Anyway I always tried to navigate and wander through the dialog box, and here are the steps I'd like to share:

Local disk > share with > Advanced sharing > sharing tab > Advance sharing button > check the box "share this folder" > permissions * > click Add a button > click Advanced button > click on 'Search' > select NETWORK > CLICKED OK

Once the NETWORK is added, I clicked on all the check boxes under permissions to "allow".

He FINALLY solved the problem! I can access my own files on the same laptop when I go to 'Network' on the left side of the pane. Now the other laptop can also access all my files on the selected drive. Thank you for all your help Sir and I hope that this can also be useful to others! God bless you!

Sharing files with an Ethernet Switch?

File sharing used to be quick and easy XP. For the love of...

I have therefore two systems of 64-bit Windows 7, a laptop and a desktop computer. They are both connected by cable to an ethernet switch. I want to share files between them.

Both computers have the ethernet connection to the switch identified as 'Unidentified network' Public value. I can't seem to do file sharing because the location is 'Public', but there is no way to change it to "Home".

If I go to 'Network' in Explorer, I can see the names of the two computers, but if I try to watch one computer to another, he said, he cannot access the network. And that's all.

If your not getting not a valid DHCP assigned IP address on each machine server you can try to configure a static IP address. See this screenshot for an example. The example assumes that your routers IP is 192.168.1.1, it assigns IP addresses in the range 192.168.1.X and that the range of addresses of DHCP servers is something superior to 192.168.1.10, IE. 192.168.1.50 and upwards, for example...

So I have sharing enabled family and my brother got a new mac that comes with iMovie, numbers, pages, and keynote and she has family active sharing but these elements are not free on app store from my mac.

She share my Active purchases that says "share your iTunes, iBooks and bought by App Store with your family."

Cannot print on shared Deskjet F4280

Can anyone help with this one?

A HP Deskjet F4280 is connected to my box of 64-bit Vista Ultimate via the USB port. Large prints.

Tried to share it on my D-link wireless home network.

Active "shared printer" on the main box that is connected to the printer.

Connected to the printer on the second computer (also the Ultimate Vista 64 bit) via "add a printer".

Successfully print a test page.

Tried to print the second computer on a variety of applications (that is to say, notepad, word, etc.) and nothing is printed. Jobs disappeared in the air.

I tried all the buttons and push all the buttons in the print preferences and nothing changed the result. Ideas, suggestions?

Ok... After about 6 hours of effort in this one I solved it. BTW, HP customer support was worthless. They said that the product cannot be networked and suggested that I return it.

Here's what fixed the issue.

1. directly connected the printer to the computer and installed the drivers from the installation CD. Note that I have not installed any other software (for example HP essentials, OCR etc..)

2 reconnect the printer to the main box, making sure that it was always identified as "shared."

3. "added printer' on the second computer (network, no space). Successfully connected to the HP F4200 series. Set as default printer.

4 print a test page failed!

5 succeed to print from word, Excel, Notepad and browser.

6. note that I did not remove the printer default F4200 attached directly to the second computer.

Variable is shared deployed on target RT retains its value after restart?

Shared, deployed on a real-time target variables are stored in the nonvolatile memory or RAM? It will hold its value after reset or power/power on? I tested and it seems retains its value, but I have found no documentation on this subject of NEITHER.

There are several components involved in the way the variables are stored on a target, but a part of which is in a non-volatile memory. Shared variables local to the target RT will not retain their value. Any reading of the data of the target host will receive the last value of the target before restarting given that the host is not at the same time re-started. The reason why it is that there are 2 shared engine variables at work; one for the host and one for the target. Since only the target has been restarted, the variable engine shared on the host retains its last value while the engine on the target will be set to 0, false them or an empty string. File sharing problem

I have four computers in small office. Three see each other, the fourth XP invisable on a Windows network. They all have the same name of "workgroup". and file sharing enabled. I can ping other but cannot get windows network to see? Number four computer is configured to share files, I ran the wizard several times to double check that the names are the same. Any suggestion would be appreciated. James

You left out the part where you tell us what version of Windows is located on each computer. This is important.

What follows is quite old, but still excellent, former MS MVP Malke boards:

Here are the steps of general network troubleshooting. Just cannot apply to your situation, so just take the bits that are. It may seem daunting, but if you follow the steps in the links and suggestions below calmly and consistently, you will have no difficulty to implement your sharing.

For XP, start by running the Network Setup Wizard the on all machines (see warning in section A below).

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus with "Internet Worm Protection" (like Norton 2006/07) which acts as a firewall, you're fine. With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

(B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this. D. Si one or more of the computers is XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. See the first link above for more information on Vista sharing.

F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers, but it is outside this response.
