  RE add new bookmarks folder, can not enter the name of the new folder:

  I am now having this problem with FireFox 10.0.2, 11/03/2012

  When I click on add a folder, a new folder appears in the tree view and the folder name field is highlighted for the entry. But when I start to type characters in the field, I can only type 1 or 2 characters at the most seized stops accept input. I then go to the bookmarks menu, locate the new folder, right-click it, click Properties and complete the registration of the name of the folder.

  At worst, the folder name field will cease to accept entry as soon as I type the first tank, in which case the name of the folder will remain as "new folder." I find the new folder in the bookmarks menu to change the name, as described above.

  It is very annoying because it adds a number of additional steps just to add a new folder in the bookmarks menu. Add the new folder through the "Show all bookmarks" and navigate through the folder hierarchy are an alternative workaround, but that records all the steps.

  Any ideas or solutions?

  I'm going offline a bit to understand what add-on, plugin, etc., could be causing it. In the meantime, I have marked your suggestion to use Mode safe as useful so that anyone else coming here could get the clue.

  I should probably drop another line in the thread for the guy who in (or has been) using FireFox 7...

  I'll post my results if I can understand it.

  UPDATE:

  I went after any add-on which had nothing to do with bookmarks.

  It was the first add-on I tried, SortPlaces 1.9.1 that automatically sorts bookmarks in various ways according to the parameters. When I disabled it, the problem disappeared.

  I re-enabled it and checked the options to see if I could understand why she was stop to add the new folder. In the 'Options' tab, there is a time limit for how long interval SortPlaces will wait before you sort a bookmark changed or added. It was set to 3 seconds.

  It is not long enough for old men by typing the new name of folder. I put it in 10 seconds. Then, I created a new folder of bookmarks and start typing a name long nonsense, while I looked at the clock. After that 10 seconds it stopped accepting the entrance, right on the mark. What this hidden for me earlier, it was that when he stops to accept input, you don't see the new folder to place in the position of sorting on the menu add a folder. You will see that if you expand the folder later. It's probably why I didn't connect the two.

  OK, I might have already solved my problem.  I tried only to open AVI justONE file.  I have other AVI files and then I tried to open WMPlayer worked.  I did the AVI WMPlayer could not play.  I checked this with VLC player AVI fiel, and showed what VLC was weird.  I guess that the AVI file has been corrupted.

  APPCRASH is a term used by Windows for a crash of the application and is reported as "problem event name: APPCRASH", it will also contain information about the name of the program crashed.

  This problem might have occurred because of these reasons:

  1 conflict between third-party applications.

  2 virus.

  3 corrupt system files.

  Try the steps listed here and see if it helps:

  1 create a WebCenter application
  2 set the control data for the service URL
  3. slide DC page as a parameter
  4 create the entry Portlet to convert page Portlet
  5. manually change oracle - portlet.xml to set the parameters of navigation under the tag < portlet-extension >
  
  What I want to do is the value of the control of the parameter of navigation data entry, so I can remove the button from the form. Is this possible? What I need to change anything else?

  I did a portlet from the sample of producers that shows these techniques: http://www.yonaweb.be/DCParameters.zip
  When you want to build portlets and not an ADF application, you must use the request of the Portlet producer instead of a Webcenter application or a web application from merger and turn your JSPX page in a portlet.
  The reason why you can't find the PortletRequest is because by default portlet libraries are not added to your application. When you use the Portlet producing, these libraries are properly added.
  The application project, I downloaded, is the production of portlet application. You should be able to deploy in your internal weblogic server and register the producer of your application.

  Some information on what I did:

  (1) create the portlet. You can find information about the portlet in the portlet.xml in the WEB - INF folder
  (2) create the user class in the package model. It's just a class that I created to have some data.
  (3) create the UserDC class. This class will have a method that takes 2 parameters. This class will be transformed into a datacontrol by right-click on it and click 'Create DataControl'
  (4) create the bean managed by opening the faces-config in the WEB folder - INF. press the plus sign in the section bean managed and enter data.
  My managed bean is the UserBean in beans package
  (5) write the code for the managed bean. You'll see that 2 methods in the bean. One to get the name and the other for the lastname parameter
  (6) in the data section press controls refresh so the data controls are updated and you should see "UserDC".
  (7) open view.jspx DCPortlet/html
  (8) slide collection user to the datacontrol to the page and select the Table-table ADF online read-only
  9) press ok
  (10) in the context menu for the DC method parameters enter #{UserBean.lastnameParameter} and #{UserBean.firstnameParameter}.

  That's what I did to create the portlet.

  In my environment I use CHAP credentials for clusters of ESXi.  In this way a specific set of ESXi nodes use the CHAP username/password to access EQL volumes.  Advantage is when you add a new node, you only need to provide the name of user and password c.  You will not have to change anything on the side of EQL to add/remove a node.

• When I add a new event to the calendar, what I type is 'New event' when I press return. Why?

  When I add a new event to the calendar, I type the name of the event in the field, change the time, add notes, etc. When I press return, the new event indicates briefly on the calendar as what I typed, but most of the time, it is up to 'new event '.   I almost didn't post this because there are so many entries with this error. But after about 20 minutes of research, I couldn't find one that was exactly what happened to my computer.

  I use a laptop Dell Inspiron 1501 with Vista Home Premium. The computer is a few years old. I've never had a blue screen before. I always run the MS. updates I run a scan for viruses from McAfee weekly. I try my best to clean up my computer and stay away from suspicious websites.

  Last night, I was using WiFi cafes of a grocery store. I closed my computer and I got a blue screen with lines vertical white sparkles. Instead of the end of the shutdown sequence, the computer restarted. I could stop from the log in window successfully.

  When I started the computer later in the evening, I received a message window:

  "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. Windows can seek a solution the next time you're online. »

  The rest of the message is at the bottom of this post.

  I was able to open the file of text below. That is what it says:

  I worked on my computer for awhile. I don't have Internet access at home.
  An hour later, I got the same blue screen when I stopped my laptop.
  The same sequence of events took place: instead of the end of the shutdown sequence, the computer is restarted. I could stop from the log in window successfully.

  I immediately started the computer again. I received the same message window.
  I made a few changes in a Word file just to keep the computer running some time before stopping again. I don't have the blue screen this time. I repeated start-up and shut down the computer several times after that and didn't get the blue screen or message.

  I don't have the message when I started my computer this morning. I use WiFi to a library this morning.

  I should also add that last night when I booted my computer and connected to the WiFi at the coffee shop, I received a message that FireFox has an update. I installed this update successfully. I thought I read somewhere online that the most recent version was giving problems to Windows users. I can't find this article. But I just thought I would add to this detail. I uninstalled FireFox just to be safe.

  I would also add that the strange behavior, only that I noticed when I used the WiFi is that I could not access the MSN.com or HotMail/Live Mail log in pages. The pages would simply not load. All other website worked/load very well.

  So, can someone give me details on what happened to my computer? It's going to be OK? Do I need to run a virus scan? From what I've read in other posts "blue screen", it might be a hardware problem. But, I don't really have a good answer that satisfies me. My computer seems to be OK for now.
