Add to this play list not available hard drive external

Because of a move, I recently spent from a desktop to a Vista laptop hand without as storage space. I have all my old content on an external hard drive, but when I try to play music files in Windows Media Player, the only way I can open is them is by clicking on the individual files and add them to the current playlist... in other words, I can't right-click on the folder of the artist and play everything. I added all the files in my library, but it is not affecting the folder options. I copied some things on the record my music on the laptop and I don't have the option here, but I don't have the space to copy everything like that. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi - I think I see what you mean... If I'm wrong in my interpretation, it is probably because the music on your external drive folder must optimize. Select the parent folder (best to create one - I call mine x-music - if it does not already exist)-right click and select Properties, and then on the Customize tab as shown here by selecting 'Music' in the menu dropdown. There is a box hidden under the drop-down list in this image which needs checking (apply to subfolders) Finally click 'Apply'-'OK' and then you should get the opportunity to "Play with WMP" when you click on a folder.

NB - it may take a little time to apply the changes.

Ric's soon.
