Adding a dictionary

Is it possible to add a new dictionary to the eReader PRS-650BC. I have this eReader since last week and I'm very happy with it. But there are only dictionaries en - en and en - us and no French dictionary. When I read in English there is no problem, but in French, I wish I could find a French dictionary, not a translation.

Is there a way I can add a? If this isn't the case, you guys plan add to a future firmware? It would be great. I know by searching in the forums that many people would be interested to add new dictionaries. As for me, I am interested to pay for this service.

Good day

Nathalie

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum.

It is currently not possible to add dictionaries built into the firmware of the PRS-650, but certainly you can download other dictionaries as regular eBook of the files in the common formats.

  • How to keep English as a default value in the spell checker after adding another dictionary?

I added a Spanish dictionary for firefox that I sometimes email Spanish-speaking. Since then, the spell checker has stuck to Spanish language by default whenever I restart the browser.
As soon as I select English, it remains until I close the browser. But goes back to Spanish when I open a new window.
I tried every setting I could find, and I also tried to remove and reinstall both languages via add dictionary.
I am at a loss. Can anyone offer some advice?
    Thank you

You can check the spellchecker.dictionary pref setting on the topic: config page and if the pref tells the user the value (in bold) and then try to reset via the context menu to the default value.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

If you do not keep the changes after a reboot or have problems with preferences, see:

  • Change of the style of the button created dynamically another button click

    Hi all

I worked on a small project at home, learning Flex and Actionscript I'll (he is great, BTW) and have hit a block.

I'm building a screen with nested containers (HBox, VBox, tiles, etc.) eventually hold a number of dynamically created buttons. It all comes from a file of XML data using loops For. Each button is assigned a unique ID.

My problem is that I have a set of buttons in an Accordion component. Each button accordion relates to a dynamically created button already on the screen. Thus, 'Step 1' on the accordion can refer to "part 5". This info is organized as a string in the .data step button. If a user clicks on the 'Step 1' button, I want to change the style of "part 5", so I need to be able to reference these buttons according to XML in step 1 data.»

I tried to use the normal setStyle, but appears not to work because I can not convert a 'Part 5' representation to the real dynamically created "5" the component button.»

So my question you fine people is: " How to change a button dynamically created on the other only a string that represents the ID of the button?'." "

If all goes well, there is a simple way to do this (without having to navigate a tree of components). Any help would be appreciated to a new learner in Flex. If you need more info on the problem, please let me know.

    Thank you...

    Thush

Edit: I think that the answer is perhaps in this thread here. That said to use a table associative to contain the ID of the components during the creation time and to use the table to make reference to them later. I will try that and see if it works. Fingers crossed!

Edit 2: I cracked! First of all, I used a dictionary to store the array of objects. This used the Dictionary package (imported) and the creation of the Dictionary object.

Then I added my dictionary objects when they are created.

Finally, I have the buttons using the object dictionary based on a known ID string of the reference.

  • Dreamweaver doesn't remember the words added in his dictionary.

Using Dreamweaver 2015.1, OS 10.10.5, Mac Mini, 16 GB of RAM.

When I am using the spell checker of Dreamweaver and add a word such as "photoshop" or "DSP" to the personal dictionary, I continue to be invited to correct the same terms in other parts of the same file in the same spell checking session. If I save the file, after the words allegedly have been added to my personal dictionary and open the file and spell check it again once, he continues to ask me to fix these same words again and again. Maybe it's my breath? (It is surprising that "photoshop" is not in the default dictionary!)

In the Mac Finder, press shift + command + G and Type ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Linguistics/UserDictionaries/Adobe Custom Dictionary in the dialog box that appears.

Which will lead you to a folder that contains a large number of records related to languages. The one you want will depend on the language selected in Dreamweaver for spell checking. In the case of the English (United States), open en_US. Inside, there should be two files: added.txt and exceptions.txt. Your personal additions are in added.txt with one entry per line.

You can try to reset the preferences via the starting window of the Save mode.

    • Help > restart with disabled modules

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

  • How to remove a Word from the default dictionary of firefox?

How to remove a Word from the default dictionary of firefox?
If I wanted to remove the word 'dog' or 'and' for example

There may be a range of reasons for wanting to do this, including the deletion of the words you use rarely as similar to other common spellings used words for example. "minute" and "Minuet", delete the words that you find personally offensive, or removing words that, because of linguistic or cultural background, you would not consider words at all.

Note that I'm not asking how to remove my 'dictionary' words, words that I added myself.

    Hello

I talked to a few people and I think I'm able to help you with this.

There are two dictionary files, the default that comes with your version of Firefox and personal 'custom' that you create yourself with phrases and words.

    If you want to change the personal;

    1. Copy Subject: support and paste into the address bar.
    2. Next to the profile folder, click the marked File Show
    3. Find the file persdict.dat. Rename a text file, open, modify, re save it as persdict.dat and replace.

If you want to change the default dictionary, it could be more of a problem and a lot more technique to do. I would recommend that you look at the problem differently and consider filtering of pages based on inappropriate content using Add-ons such as ProCon Latte Content Filter.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look at another solution for you.

  • 2016 staff Word dictionary is full.

I'm posting this question here, because I do not have the answer in the Microsoft forum.

Everyone becomes a complete dictionary in Word 2016?    Now, when I try to add words to my dictionary, I get this dialog box:

I am now on my sixth personal dictionary.   None of them works.  No one at Microsoft knows what to do about it.

I post here in case someone here has the answer to this problem.

If you want to see the entire thread on the Microsoft site, it's here:

    nary-is-full-word-2016/938923eb-fde2-4aed-b7dc-f498688d961d http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Mac/forum/macoffice2016-MacWord/custom-dictio

It could very well be a bug. I see that Bob Jones has helped you. He is a Microsoft MVP for years, and I would trust his advice. Since he mentioned that he has never seen this before, it tells me it's a bug.

The only other suggestion I could suggest would be to put the language.

Open a Word document. Click on the word > Preferences
Under the Authoring & proofing tools, select spelling and grammar
Click on the button dictionaries next unrolling of personal dictionary.
Select a language (English or any other language you want to use)
    Click OK. Quit word.
    Restart Word
Try adding a new Word to the dictionary.

    If this does not work...

I suggest that you test in a new user. This will quickly tell you if the problem is system-wide or if your user folder that contains the problem.

You can use the guest user or create a new user to test.

    CREATE A NEW USER

Go to system-> Preferences, create a new user in users and groups.

Switch to the new user by logging incoming/outgoing or use the fast user switching.

By default only the applications Apple will be in the dock in the new user. Go to Applications to open Microsoft Word.

    You still see the issue?

If Yes, then the problem is with your core files. (this would indicate a bug in Word)

If not, then the problem is in your user folder.

  • Who maintains the US English Dictionary by default for Firefox?

I would like to contribute to the dictionary that comes with FF. It seems it is listed as an add-on, but since it installs by default (and unless this bug has been fixed, cannot be changed) I'm not clear if this is the same dictionary or another dictionary to English US. Who would I talked that helps keep the default dictionary?

The default dictionary is not an add-on, its default in Firefox. If you want to propose words for the dictionary, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499593 has a list of words that should be added.
