Adding a hyperlink to a URL that is a PDF file online

I'm trying to add a URL to InDesign, and then save it as an interactive PDF - I have no problem normal URL to my work to InDesign (for example, www.adobe.com) link, however the URL I'm trying to add is a PDF Online. Here is the URL I'm trying to link: www.isealalliance.org/sites/default/files/private/ISEAL%20DIPI%20India%20baseline%20study %20report.pdf

Once I added to the URL, everything looks good on the links Panel in InDesign. I then export the file in InDesign as a PDF from Adobe (Interactive). When I click on the hyperlink in Adobe PDF generated the following message window appears:

There is no application ready to open the URL www.isealalliance.org/sites/default/files/private/ISEAL%20DIPI%20India%20baseline%20study % 20report.pdf.

Search the App Store for an application that can open this document, or choose an existing application on your computer.

I have then to choose three options: cancel, choose Application and search App Store.

When I select: choose Application, there is no application that I am able to select. I thought by selecting preview, or Acrobat Pro would have been available to select, but no.

Can someone help me?

Thank you.

The problem are the spaces indicated as %20 in the link. Remove them the PDF file name or try to write the link with space instead if it written by % 20.

I will never understand why people are displayed on a file server public with spaces and extended characters that are always problematic.

  • TimeoutException - during the web service method call that opens a PDF file

I am updating a legacy program that uses Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0.  The idea is that the customer is calling web service methods, which manage open a PDF file, reading or writing in the PDF file, if necessary and closing.  He then returned data (if reading) to the client.

The only problem with what I'm having is that the client will take a break for about 60 seconds and raise a TimeoutException.

I know that the method on the end of web services works, because I wrote a quick driver who calls the same method, but it is running normally and works perfectly.

My question is, basically, what would cause the client to be block/gel during the call to the web service method to perform this operation? Everything works on my workstation, and I've debugged to see that filename passed is the same in both tests.

    Thank you!

This would be better addressed in the forum of the Acrobat SDK kit.

"Note: if a URL hyperlink does not work in the exported PDF file, there may be a problem with the hyperlink is a"Shared"Destination." Double-click the hyperlink in the hyperlinks Panel, select URL in the link menu, deselect the option target shared hyperlink and click OK. »

I followed these instructions and the hyperlinks do NOT work in the exported PDF document. What Miss me?

    Thank you!

When you export the PDF file, be sure to select in the dialog box: include > hyperlinks.  Click ok.

Assuming that the hypertext links have been created correctly in the ID, you should be ok.

  • InDesign 2014 E-mail hyperlink does not work when the interactive pdf is displayed in a tab in the browser

When we create an interactive pdf in inDesign CC 2014, the e-mail link does not time the 'topic' and 'to' when the client opens in a browser view. Works fine when downloaded and opened in Acrobat, but most customers will use the browser method. How does one solve this problem when making the PDF, or, how does one prevent the PDF to open in a browser? There was once a "prevents the opening in the browser" in earlier versions of Acrobat, but it isn't here in xi Acrobat. Thank you, in advance!

You can solve by the PDF, that so fine because in Acrobat, then the link is OK. You also can not prevent to open in the browser, because the browser manages how to open a PDF file. PDF included browser readers can be turned off or there are (probably) settings always open the PDF file in an external application (Adobe Reader, etc.).

However, I also create PDF files of in Indesign (although non-interactive ones), which include hyperlinks for e-mail, and put it on our Web site. If I use Chrome and click any PDF link, it opens in the browser and hovering over an e-mail address reveals the mailto: link (subject not included, is not serious in any way) and a click opens my mail client. Works perfectly.

  • URLs coat (hide) in PDF format

Is there a way to hide or hide URL links in my PDF files? Or to prevent the passage of the mouse to display the URL link?

Basically I have a URL link in a version of the example of a PDF document that takes a potential customer to a payment page to purchase the full version of the PDF file. I would rather the customers do not see the URL itself to avoid confusion. For example, the client is on the resellers site XYZ, but the URL takes the client through my site ABC (to capture the affiliate data) and then to the credit card payment page.

You can replace the links with the fields that run a JavaScript script that opens the desired URL. In this way the user will not see the URL when hovering the link above.

  • ThinApped Lotus Notes 9.0 freezes after that opening attached PDF

    Hello world!

I'm new in ThinApp environment, I hope someone can help me with a headache ThinApping Lotus Notes 9.0, here is my scenario:

    ThinApping App: Lotus Notes 9.0

Capture Machine: Windows 7 x 64 on VMware Workstation 10.0.2

Test computer: Windows 7 x 64 on VMware Workstation 10.0.2

After the construction project and to test the application of thinapped it works fine until that opening any PDF file attached that brings the freezing point of Lotus Notes 9.0 and adobe reader (XI) two apps answer before killing adobe reader process "AcroRd32.exe".

I tried to capture app in WriteCopy and mode of fusion, capture whitin outside domain machine, machine of capture with the local administrator account, capture and machine with the domain administrator account, but in all cases the result is the same, does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance!

I thought that Lotus would have extracted the pdf attachment in the file folder before opening it, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Lines above are running in native mode, not Adobe Reader process virtually so its process is not able to access the content in the virtual bubble (this is why you have this error message with Adobe Reader).

    Try the following:

    -Remove the tray sand

-Remove these lines from the package.ini:

    ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions = AcroRd32.exe

    ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault = virtual

    - Recompile the application (file build.bat)

    -Open Adobe Reader

    - Go in Edition > Preferences > Security (enhanced)

-Uncheck "Activate the Mode protected at startup"

    -Click OK

    -Close Adobe Reader

-Try to open a PDF with Lotus notes attachment again!

  • Generate a list of URLS that are a hyperlink in a document?

    Hello world

I did some research and can't seem to find an answer to this question:

Is there a way to generate a list of all URLS that are hyperlinked in an InDesign document? I use CS6.

    Thank you very much.

Oooh - scripts are nothing to worry about. On the contrary: there are many small functions and routines that are useful only for very few people, if Adobe has not added them to InDesign. This is where a script can help you!

Here's a quick which includes all hyperlinks, shows them on the screen and saves their list in your Documents folder. Save it as "collectHyperlinks.jsx" in your folder User Scripts, and then double-click it in the Scripts panel to run.

  • Newline being added at the end of URL hyperlinks

I have a list of hundreds of URLS that are generated on an Excel worksheet that my colleague has added as hyperlinks to the picture frames in InDesign CS5.

Add them as a URL link, he leaves the box "shared the destination of the hyperlink" checked so they were automatically converted to links of Destination shared on creation.

I exported the INDD file to SWF format, all hyperlinks worked fine once that I've tested on a live server. However, when I exported the same INDD document in a document of (Interactive) PDF the same links did not work. The links show as it should in the PDF, ending with "pagename.aspx", but once you open the link in any browser there a hexadecimal cart on the end, "pagename.aspx%0D", that invalidates the URL.

I tried all combinations of the creation of a hypertext link in InDesign; URL, shared, shared the box checked and unchecked, there is no dofference, 0% D was always on the end.

I went on the symbols of Excel controls, nothing appeared, although I am a novice in Excel.

I copied and pasted the same URL of Excel directly in a block of text into InDesign, it showed no carriage don't return symbol, and nothing shows anywhere else there is nothing hiding on the end of the URL.

Today I edited a hyperlink on the same document, and re-exported to SWF, now I'm having the same problem with this particular link changed, regardless of what type of hyperlink I have change, now both Flash and Acrobat!

Like most of the bugs I encountered, InDesign turns out to be the culprit, and the new features related web never seem to work the way they claim.

I have found no such evidence on Google to someone else having a similar problem.

    Please help, thanks.

I don't think that's the problem. I believe that shared destination that url always appear as hyperlinkURLDestinations.

    Try adding

    $.writeln(hls[i].destinationURL);

before the function if() to print a line to the console for each URL ESTK, he meets.

Oh, wait! Ha ha ha. After a further inspection, I see the problem... Please delete the exclamation mark (!) at the beginning of the if() function...

The script that I modified tested for the ABSENCE of something before you do the replacement. But it's the opposite here, where you test the presence. "" "!" means "not." sigh...
