Adding a specific file to all subfolders on network drive

How can I add the same folder all the files located on a network drive? For example, if I want to add a folder "Billing" to all customers on a disc records, how so without going into each folder and adding them one by one?

PowerShell is my go to the source, this is a perfect example.

The first response also describes how to ignore if this folder already exists in the destination.

  • Help! Empty file after opening .psd to network drive

    I am a technician in a school district and in one of the classrooms, we have Photoshop installed on a Windows 7 SP1 machine CS5.1. Students have their own network for them drive folder to save files.

    They are currently working with the paths of work and have several layers when they record their PS project.  When they go to open it to the top, they get an empty white layer that seems locked. We go to the part of paths and it shows in fact that they worked. How do they get to open upwards where the layers are still there? The layers box was checked when they saved and it was recorded as a .psd file.

    Any help would be appreciated.  They saved locally on the computer and I don't want to know pretty soon if she registered properly for them.

    He is discouraged by Adobe to open/save directly via a network.  I don't know the fact that register directly on the network is involved in what is wrong here, but you have the students of can save their work on the local drive, and then copy the file to the network drive?

    Out of curiosity, they use a mapped drive letter or a UNC path?

  • Photoshop JavaScript: open files in all subfolders

    Hi guys

    I'm new with javascript and General Photoshop scripts. My script is coming on well, but I have a hard time working with files and folders. It's a lack of knowledge of basic javascript, I need to work. Right now, I'm trying to expand the part open to the image of my script, so that it opens images in a subfolder or not.

    You can see my entry folder (C:/entry). I want to be able to throw the files in there, some files in, others not. Out of curiosity, my outings will be combined into a single folder of output... which bit is fine.

    var inFolder = new Folder("C:/Input")

    if(inFolder != null){

    var fileList = inFolder.getFiles(/\.(jpg|tif|psd|bmp|gif|png|)$/i);

    }

    for(var a = 0 ;a < fileList.length; a++)

    {

    var docRef = open(fileList[a]);

    //do things here

    }

    Is there an easy way to extend this to include files in subfolders? Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    David

    You could combine the code you posted with the code I posted like this:

    var topFolder = new Folder ('~/desktop/test');
    var fileandfolderAr = scanSubFolders (topFolder, / \.) (jpg) | TIF | PSD | BMP | gif | PNG |) $/i);

    List of files of the var = fileandfolderAr [0];

    for (var a = 0;< filelist.length;="">

    {

    open = ([a] fileList) var docRef;

    do things here

    }

    function scanSubFolders (tFolder, mask) {/ / folder, RegExp object or string}
    var sFolders = new Array();
    var allFiles = new Array();
    sFolders [0] = tFolder.
    for (var j = 0; j)< sfolders.length;="" j++){="" loop="" through="">
    var procFiles is sFolders [j] .getFiles ();.
    for (var i = 0; i)
    If (procFiles [i] instanceof File) {}
    if(Mask==undefined) allFiles.push (procFiles [i]); / / If no mask search does not collect all the files
    If (procFiles [i].fullName.search (mask)! = - 1) allFiles.push (procFiles [i]); otherwise than those that correspond to mask
    } ElseIf (procFiles [i] instanceof file) {}
    sFolders.push (procFiles [i]); / / store the subfolder
    scanSubFolders (procFiles [i], mask); / / Find the subfolder
    }
    }
    }
    return [allFiles, sFolders];
    };

  • Historical files sees all of my hard drives but doesn't allow me to save on some of them! Why?

    Hello!

    I have 4 hard drives in my system: C, D, E and F.  The startup with the system files disk (Windows is the default C :).  I'm currently backup on drive D, but want to use drive E.  The problem I have is that in the 'FIle History' configuration, I can see all 4 of my disks but when highlighting the E and F disc I don't have to choose them.  If I highlight the drive D, below it shows up as a usable drive!  Why would Windows 8 allow me to choose and use drive E?

    All drives are healthy and are assets, primary Partitions.

    Any advice?

    Thank you!!!

    Hello Gmastere,

    Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

    1. How do highlight you the two players in the history of the files?
    2. Is drive D a recovery partition, second drive hard or any other medium of memory?

    Basically, the drivers for drive E are by default assigned to the DVD player. Also, to address this issue, we need more information. Therefore, see the following articles and check if they solve the problem you reported.

    Set up a drive to history file

    Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

  • get files from a specific folder for adding a pdf file

    Hello

    How can I get a file in a specific folder for adding a pdf file?

    You don't need to get the files in the folder B, if you know what is the path of the folder B, and what are the names of files...

    To process several files, you use an Action in Acrobat Pro. They have to run the following JS code (assuming that this file B is actually C:\Temp\B\):

    var folderBPath = "/ c/temp/b /;

    this.insertPages ({cPath: folderBPath + this.documentFileName});

    Then add a Save command, and you're done.

  • How can I move specific files according to date to a new drive and recreate the folders that they were originally in?

    I would like to take I have saved a search to sort by date and then move them to another drive and also preserve or recreate specific subfolders, in that they were originally of specific files. How do I do that? I found an and only a third party program which claims to work with the copy of the files and other. It is called "Copywhiz" but I don't think that it has this ability account required from what I've seen of him. I looked up information about the xcopy command, but his date setting allows only a specific date, not a date range. What is the best way to do it if possible? Otherwise I'll have to go through the TEDIOUS process of your time to copy all the folder and its subfolders to the other drive, looking all over again for a date range and delete these files and not in the range of dates, I want to be in the files in specific folders. I hope it is clear to you because I have no other way to explain. The specific details of the project are that I have a bunch of psd files in many subfolders based on the object. Of these files, I want those who are previous to the year 2009. I want to have the records that those displaced persons files were to be preserved in their new location. Essentially, I want to replicate the folder structure that only selected files to the new drive.

    I could get this link to work, so I downloaded from http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/RoboCopy-Download-87790.html.

    I tried it and it worked and it was relatively simple.  He did the directory and the structure of the subdirectories as well.

    In my view, is the command you would use in command prompt:

    ROBOCOPY sourcedirectory *.psd /E MINAGE:20081231 destinatiiondirectory

    I think that's all there is to it.  It worked for me when I did something similar with all .doc files in the My Documents folder.

    WOW!  It was fairly easy and well obviously the solution.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck.

  • Restore specific files of Time Machine on El Capitan

    Hello

    I want to restore specific files from a Time Machine after then reinstalling OS.

    In Time Machine that only highlight the buttons front and rear back 1 week and the sidebar, but it develops, is RED and is unclickable. I can find files by searching for them but I want to restore all of my documents and specific applications to try to remember all is not practical. The sidebar being red means it's inaccessible and if not, how can I access content on specific date, the function used to work in Yosemite and back ups I'm looking are El Capitan so don't know why I can't access it. Thank you.

    Time Machine, please press the shift-command-C key combination. The windshield will show the mounted volumes. All snapshots should now be accessible. Select the one you want and search for files to restore.

    If you need to restore from a backup of the hidden user library folder, first select a snapshot, and then press shift-command-G. A go to the folder dialog box opens. In this document, you enter the path to the folder. The dialog box will help you by automatically filling parts of the path when you start typing.

    The path starts with the slash character ("/"). Enter that. The rest of the parts is separated by slashes.

    The next part is the date and time of the current snapshot. Enter a '2', and the rest of the date should be filled in automatically. Press the right arrow key to access the end of the path. Enter a slash to start the next game.

    Next is the volume name (usually "Macintosh HD" unless you assigned a different name.) Start typing, then jump to the end and enter a slash.

    The next part is 'Users', followed by a slash.

    Then is your short user name. It is also the name of your home folder, which is represented by an icon of the House in the sidebar of a Finder window.

    Finally, enter "Library", and then press return. You should now be in the library folder. From there, you can move like in the Finder. You can also select another snapshot of the same folder.

  • Folder XP 'customize' properties tab with "applies to subfolders" checked applied property passes to all folders and all subfolders on the computer.

    While creating a new music folder in XP and using the tab of "Customizing" folder properties, properties that had to be "applied to all subfolders" apply properties to all folders and subfolders on the computer and attached externally. How can I retrieve short to restore the entire disk (my drive is saved with the Windows backup feature)?

    You can finely tune and crafts which properties are applied to files by using the option you mentioned, as well as "templates folder" as well.  But using both in tandem is not very intuitive.

    Although it was created using Windows 8 for example, the video below also works for Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7.  This should help you to set up your personalized finely folder and spread it to all folders of the same type.

  • Unchecking read only attribute on files and folder, subfolders does not persist

    I'm trying to disable the read-only attribute in the properties of a folder in the file system.  I uncheck this attribute, I say, too, that he would do that by clicking on apply, then it does to all files, folders, and subfolders... etc and it does.  Then I click ok to close the properties box.  If I reopen it the properties box, the read only attribute is on again once.  I tried several times but keep having the same problem.  I am logged in as administrator.

    How to keep turning off the read-only attribute?

    Do you mean that the read-only box is blue? This does not mean that the read-only attribute is on.
