"Adding another 8 GB of ram would improve computer performance of H8 - 1520t.

I have a HP h8 - 1520 computer t with a bar of ram of memory DIMM DDR - 1600 GB 8.  My more demanding program is Microsoft Flight Simulator X with acceleration.

I thought I could just use the 8 GB of ram I have (a stick) and then install a more accurate memory stick live, for a total of 16 GB. Fix?  As I said, if you can be sure that the new 8 GB stick of memory is compatible with the existing 8 GB, then it is not a problem.  Just make sure that they are compatible, or you've lost your money.

  • The upgrade of RAM will improve the speed side Windows and Mac?

    I use VMware fusion for music production and this program requires plenty of work. I have a MacBook Pro 4 GB of ram and when I turn on VMware it goes to 2 GB of ram in Mac and 2 GB ram under windows. My Mac's speed is normal when VMware fusion is off but when I turn on my Mac is very slow. The upgrade of ram will improve the speed on mac and also windows (windows is also very slow)

    BTW, my English is not very good

    Well, take a peek in the Windows Task Manager to see how much memory is required/used. If an operating system requires more memory available, it will start to swap out the disk, which will introduce a huge performance impact. If the answer to your question is probably yes.

    PS: After adding memory to the host, you must also change the client memory for the virtual machine.

    It will help in cases where the applications require more than 4 GB of RAM.  Otherwise, there will be no noticeable difference.  If you really want to increase the speed, an SSD is the best option.  They cost about 3 x's + more than a traditional HDD of same capacity...

    Be sure to install a single module of memory in DIMM 1 connector, closest to the processor, before you install modules in the other connectors connector. ». • How to improve the performance of my T61?

    Hello

    I got Lenovo T61 T7300, which means he has Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00 Ghz, 2 GB ram and nVidia Quadro NVS 140 M.

    And I want to improve its performance, then, what are the materials that I can use on it... (can eg. I attach another 2 GB of ram, or replace it with 4GB).

    Also, I have a T61 and am very happy with it.  An SSD would certainly speed things up but would not perform to its potential because of the interface SATA on the T61 is limited to SATA 150 speeds.

    I have a beautiful Seagate 7200 RPM 320g turning regularly drive and am happy with the performance.

    About the memory your T61 can support up to 8 GB of RAM.  Four should be much, but if you want to get out the machine max and don't mind a little extra money spending, I'd recommend the following memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231210

    Also, be sure to disable unnecessary software on your computer.  It can easily be slowed down by the suites of security and background process.

  • Re: How can I improve the performance of Vista on a Satellite L30-10s?

    I have worked in Vista on a Satellite L30 - 10s for a while and get very poor performance. It takes several seconds just to respond to the movement of the scroll bar. I put Control Plan-> system and Maintenance... System Properties-> visuals to "Adjust for best performance", but it gave no noticeable improvement. The RAM is 446 MB - upgraded this would improve performance? If so, what would the good do & spec to buy?

    > It RAM is 446 MB - upgraded this would improve performance?

    Of course, it is not enough to run vista with good performance. 1 GB minimum Ram required to run Vista, better than 2 GB ram

    To the l30 product specifications:

    standard: 256 MB
    maximum scalability: 2 048 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM (533 MHz)

    You can be upgraded up to 2 GB DDR 2

  • I installed 4 GB of RAM in my computer Windows XP which has detected correctly 4096 MB, but the system information that 2 GB of Ram available.

    I recently installed a maximum of 4 GB of RAM for my Win XP Home computer: four tips of 1024Mo in 4 available memory locations. Story: It came with 512 MB of RAM (256 MB two cards to 2 of the 4 slots). I sometimes treat files large image or video in a few applications, and if I do too much without saving the files, I get something like "...". not enough memory to complete... "and can not save either and lose an hour or two of work, all frozen, treatment and once had to turn off the computer by pulling the power plug (nothing else worked). Later, I added two boards of 1024 MB and moved the two 256 MB for the other two locations. The computer has detected correctly the RAM and showed 2,560.00 of available physical memory total MB of RAM in system information and available physical memory 2.00 GB (currently about 550 MB, current process). I put 4 GB page file. That helped a lot with the processing of these applications, but if do not attention, the same "...". not enough memory... "thing and I lost the job. So I added another 2 identical cards of 1 GB replacing the two planks of 256 MB. The 4 GB of RAM, I've added exact IS correct type for my computer. Set the pagefile to 1.5 times RAM available, etc, so that's it of OK. NOW THE PROBLEM, if it'S a PROBLEM: in the information system RAM is detected OK, showing 4,096.00 MB total physical memory, BUT not much more available memory: 2.16 GB available physical memory! Total virtual memory 2.00 GB remains the same in both cases, even if I put the pagefile of 12 GB. Page file space shows what I put in more added about 2 GB.
    SO THE QUESTION: Is all the 4 GB of RAM (essentially) available for use with my operations high megabytes to image and video processing applications?  Or is Win XP steal my RAM and makes the page file? What happens here? You wish to know if I've lost $120,00 on two more strips of 1 GB of memory. Thanks loads, if someone can tell me.
    Did not have a pretty good test in image/video applications to find out if I won anything yet. Always the same 550MO ongoing process. And Yes, I spent hours on the things in forums of online learning on the page file and RAM, most of which I knew already, but there is no explanation on the information system does not more than 2 GB of RAM available.
    Thanks loads, if someone can tell me.

    "My OS is Windows XP family 32-bit." End of the story for the possibility to use up to 4 GB of RAM. No, there is no way to magic, you can force a Windows 32-bit operating system to use all 4 GB of RAM. There is a difference between the question of whether a motherboard will support a certain amount of memory and an operating system be able to access memory. Sorry, you missed this fact in your research. Oh, and if you want to try one of the many Linux distros do not forget to use a 64-bit - after checking your processor is 64-bit also. That yours is not.

  • How can I improve my computer performance ratings?

    Recently I bought Halo 2 for Vista. I loaded into my computer and am really a lot about the installation process. Then I clicked on "Finish." After that, I got an error message that says "Initailization Failed". He said that he might be missing data or the disc is scarched. This was not true. It also says that you can reinstall and it would work. No luck with that. Evenually, I thought it might be my computer performance ratings. !) SIDE NOTE - I have a DELL inspiron 530 withVista '32'. (!  So I checked my notes and my areas I need to improve are: graphics (3.9) and graphics of games (3.3). As you probably know your base score is determined by your lower under-score. My lower under-score is games graphic that is 3.3. I want to get between them and my graphics (3.9) until a 5.0 rating. Can someone help me?

    You need to buy one - it is a piece of hardware (no software which can be downloaded).  Make sure the card is compatible with your computer, your BIOS, your motherboard and your version of Vista (you may need to consult the computer manufacturer to confirm, you get the right card - or get them specifically for your computer).  Also make sure that it's "quite better" solve the problem - and I would like to get a little more because the computer components become obsolete very quickly.  It will be delivered with the software, firrmware and/or drivers that must be installed before the latter won't work - instuctions should come with it or be available on the web site of the manufacturer of the video card or the provider.  Make sure that the card has enough RAM onboard to make a difference if you want to improve these scores as much as you do.  The card will tell you your new score when you buy - you'll just have to get a good and check it out to see if it does the trick.

    I hope this helps.

  • Maximum RAM for old computer with operating system updated

    I have old a laptop Compaq Presario C700 initially provided with 1 GB of RAM and Windows Vista.  This computer has since been updated for Windows 7 32-bit and upgrade to 2 GB of RAM.  I checked Crucial site and he informed me that the maximum RAM for this computer is the 2 GB that I am currently.  Despite this, I read the posts of people successfully 3 to 4GB of RAM installed and still having their computer function properly.  I also read that the maximum RAM that can run on a Windows 7 32-bit system is 4 GB.

    Since I now have Windows 7, I will be able to further improve my computer to a 4 GB of RAM or the hardware of the laptop itself prevents me to do?

    The manual for a Compaq Presario C700 says on page 2 supports up to 2 GB of RAM:
    http://www.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01301275.PDF

    With all computers, you have two factors limiting the amount of RAM memory that may be installed, or the motherboard, and the version of Windows installed. In your case, it is the motherboard that prevent you from adding more RAM.

  • Help improve the performance of a procedure.

    Hello everyone,

    First of all to introduce myself. My name is Ivan and I recently started to learn the SQL and PL/SQL. Then don't go hard on me. :)

    Now let's move on to the problem. What we have here is a table (a large, but we will need only a few fields) with some information about the calls. 'S called it table1. There is also another, absolutely the same structure, which is empty and we must transfer the recordings of the first.
    The calls short (less than 30 minutes) have segmentID = "C1".
    Longer calls (over 30 minutes) are saved as multiple records (1 for every 30 minutes). The first record (the first 30 minutes of the call) a segmentID = "C21". It's the first time we have only one of them for each different call. Then we have the next parts (the middle one) of the appeal, having segmentID = "C22". We have more than 1 middle part and once again the maximum minutes in every 30 minutes. Then we have the last part (new max 30 minutes) with segmentID = "C23. As with the first, we can have that last part.
    So far so good. Now we need to insert these call records in the second table. The C1 are easy - a record = one call. But those partial we must combine so that they become a single whole call. This means that we must be one of the first pieces (C21), find if there is a middle part (C22) with the same caller/called numbers and with the difference in 30 minutes time, then additional research if there is an another C22 and so on. And finally, we search for the last part of the call (C23). As part of this research we sum the length of each part, so we can have the duration of the call at the end. Then, we are ready to be inserted into the new table as a single record, just with the new duration.
    But here's the problem with my code... The table a LOT of files and this solution, despite the fact that it works (at least in tests I've done so far), it is REALLY slow.
    As I said I am new to PL/SQL and I know that this solution is really newbish, but I can't find another way to do this.

    So I decided to come here and ask for some advice on how to improve the performance of this.

    I think you're getting confused already, so I'll just put some comments in the code.

    I know this isn't a procedure as at present, but it will be once I have create better code. I don't think it's important for now.

    Hi and welcome to the forums.

    Thanks for posting your code (and using code tags... it's a miracle of a novice!).

    What would be nice would be if you could provide some example data and expected results; as described in the FAQ: {message identifier: = 9360002}

    Your code is very likely to be slow because of the number of nested loops cursor that you use. Which is known in the trade as treatment of rank by rank (more affectionately known as slow-by-slow transformation, as he was known to be slow). It is slow because the PL engine must keep going back and forth between himself and the SQL engine and the INSERT you in a loop called SQL much time to insert data.

    Usually this kind of thing can be achieved by using something like a single INSERT... ... SELECT statement where the SELECT all the treatment that you put in the language PL, or sometimes a SQL MERGE statement if a conditional is sort of insert/update.

    If you post your data so people can get an idea of what is the logic (and have something to test with and know what results should be) then we can help.

  • How to improve the performance of the Intel X 3100 on Satellite L300

    Hello everyone.

    First of all, I don't know if this is an appropriate place to post this thread here or no, but I would like to share with you the experience relating to the improvement of Intel X 3100 (GMA965).

    As we know, there is no driver is good for this chipset from Intel for the moment, especially on VIsta.
    This improvement is made by editing the registry of Intel driver.

    * Steps: *.
    * 1 * open run (Windows + R)
    * 2 * enter Regedit
    * 3 * open the subfolder: * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Video\ *.
    * 4 * from there you'll see lots of subfolders in video, open each one until you see the folder * 0000 * with + _3DMark03.exe +.
    (For example, my is {HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Video\ {B5990899-FBCB-45E1-B0B0 *} and reg DWord _3Dmark03.exe lies in two subfolders * 0000 * and * 0001 *})
    * 5 * in * 0000 * and * 0001 *, create two new * DWORD format: * _software.exe* and * ~ software.exe*, value = 1 (hexadecimal). Here, * software * represents the name of the program you want to accelerate as * _photoshop.exe* and * ~photoshop.exe*
    * 6 * in these files, search for * GFX_Options * and change its value to * 1 *.
    * 7 * restart your computer to activate GFX
    * 8 * repeat step 4 to add more programs you want

    Other updates for the drivers are under developed. However, this method will help you to speed up your computer performance with + heavy + graphical software required. I got double FPS on some software on my Toshiba L300 using this method such as Corel, WarcraftIII and Titan Quest (24-32 fps measurement by Fraps)

    Hope it's useful for everyone.
    Best wishes

    Hello

    You seem to have pretty good specifications in the laptop.

    Even so, I prefer Intel than AMD processors.
    Try playing in low & medium resolution.

    According to many things (specifications, you have now installed vs the programs he came originally with programs, etc.)-it may or may not work better that ever he does now.  However, in terms of nothing other than the software and others on the subject - there are some things you can do to optimize performance.

    Search for malware:

    Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

    Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

    Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

    The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

    Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

    You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

    Do some cleaning and dusting off this hard drive:

    You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

    Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

    If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...

    You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

    When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

    -Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
    -Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
    -Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

    You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
    4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

    You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

    Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

    -Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
    -On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
    -Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
    -Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
    -Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
    -Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

    You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

    CCleaner (free!)

    (just disk cleanup - do not play with the part of the registry for the moment)

    After that - you want to check any physical errors and fix everything for efficient access"

    Cleaning the components of update on your WIndows XP computer

    While probably not 100% necessary-, it is probably a good idea at this time to ensure that you continue to get the updates you need.  This will help you ensure that your system update is ready to do it for you.

    Download and run the MSRT tool manually:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx
    (Ignore the details and download the tool to download and save to your desktop, run it.)

    Download/install the latest program Windows installation (for your operating system):

    and...

    Download the latest version of Windows Update (x 86) agent here:
    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=91237

    Close all Internet Explorer Windows and other applications.

    AutoScan--> RUN and type:

    Now reset your Windows with this FixIt components update (you * NOT * use the aggressive version):
    How to reset the Windows Update components?

    Reset.

    Now that your system is generally free of malicious software (assuming you have an AntiVirus application), you've cleaned the "additional applications" that could be running and picking up your precious memory and the processor, you have authorized out of valuable and makes disk space as there are no problems with the drive itself and your Windows Update components are updates and should work fine - it is only only one other thing you pouvez wish to make:

    Get and install the hardware device last drivers for your system hardware/system manufacturers support and/or download web site.

    If you want, come back and let us know a bit more information on your system - particularly the brand / model of the system, you have - and maybe someone here can guide you to the place s x of law to this end.  This isn't 100% necessary - but I'd be willing to bet that you would gain some performance and features in making this part.
