Adding to an existing Collection

In LR3 is drag / drop the only way to add a photo to an existing collection?

Thank you

Tom

Win 7

Alternatively, you can right-click a collection and set it as the target collection, then use the B button to add to this collection.

  • Added new photos to an existing collection

I can't add new photos to an existing collection, because the cursor will not enter the thumbnail. In what must be a related problem, I can't reorganize my thumbnails mode grid for the same reason. How to solve this problem, or at least work around it?

    Thank you

Is this a case of click the border around the image rather than the image itself real? You can't drag the border. You must click directly on the image.

  • Adding images to the collection

I'm doing the simplest thing, without success. I have created a collection and want to add twenty images to it. In the grid view, I select my twenty photos, but can not drag and drop them in the collection folder. I right clicked the folder, looked in all the menus, but can find no reference to adding photos to an existing collection. Obviously, I'm missing something very simple, but I don't know what it is.

    Thanks in advance,

    Gary

You must drag from the center of the images in the collection. Gray no surrounds.

  • How to add the virtual copy to an existing collection

    Hello

    I use LR 5.7.x in Win7 environment.

I have an existing collection within a collection set. I would like to add a virtual copy of an image to this collection. Is there a way to do this in one step?

If I select the image and press B, he puts a - not a virtual copy - copy into the target. The only way I see to do this is to first make the virtual copy, copy it to the target collection and finally remove the copy virtual from the original location.

    Best regards

    Scott

    Hi scott_o,

To add a virtual copy to a collection, you must create a virtual copy. When it is created, set the collection (to which you want to import pictures or virtual copies to) as target collection.

Once this is done, you must select the image or the virtual copy, then press B to add to the target collection.

Note: Add collection does not all copies of the image file.

In addition, if you remove the virtual copy in the catalog, it will be removed from the collection as well.

Let me know if it helps.

  • Adding photos to a collection.

I tried to drag a group of selected photos in my catalog to an existing collection, and nothing happens.  Is there another way to add photos to a collection in addition to drag / drop?  What should I do to make this work?

When you drag move, you need drag start the operation by pointing your mouse in the middle of the photo and not in the rectangle to the photo.

  • Photo not added to the quick Collection when you click marker

Recently I have not been able to add photos to a quick collection, when you click on the marker. The marker provides information, but the photo does not appear in the quick collection. This problem occurred at the same time, I couldn't remove the photos in the quick collection that had been added. I had to remove these photos using the menu system. I've upgraded to the new version of Lightroom 5 yesterday thinking that would solve the problem. I still have the problem so I wonder if this is a setting that I missed. Quick collection markers button is enabled in the display options and the button and change when you click them... The thumbnail of the photo is not added to the quick collection.

It seems that you no longer have the quick Collection, referred to as a collection of target. Is there a small symbol '+' next to the name of the collection? If this isn't the case, you have another collection in your designated collection list.

To fix, right-click the name of the quick Collection and click the option "set as target Collection.

  • How to add photos to an existing collection?

Tutorials, show how to start a collection, but do not go on to show you how to come back later and add photos newly selected to an already existing collection. I went through the menus but don't see anything that says "Add to the collection," I need help with this one.

    TIA,

    Ken

Ken, in my opinion, the easiest is to simply drag them from the library/grid. Make sure you take one of your files selected by the thumbnail of the image and not the border gray and all the images can be moved to your collection.

  • Add images to existing Collection Lr

I hope that it will be understood what I'm trying to ask...

Once a series of selected images were imported in the LR catalog as a collection, is there a way to another collection in the catalogue of the collection in the catalog? I'm having a hard time to find how to import (I do not want to move the original images, but simply add to LR) to a collection that is already in LR. When I select the icon for adding, it I cannot choose a collection to add it to. It is important only in the catalog as a new collection.

    Hi skorg,

Well, Add is the option on the import window that initially allows you to add images in the Lightroom Catalog. Once you are done with this process, then you can simply drag your images in the folder collection where you want to add and start editing more far.

    It may be useful

    Kind regards

  • Adding images to the Collection of books [was: Blurb book Question]

I'm doing a book with Blurb from a collection of photos in LR. I've added two pictures to the collection I wanted to add to the book, but they do not appear when I pass 'Library' to 'book '. How can I make it appear? Thank you!

    Hi sunlovinggirl,

Once you add the images to the collection of books, they appear on the film when you return to the book Module so that you can add them to your book pages.

You should look for them in the film.

  • How does Lightroom 5 update affect existing collections of Revel published in my LR catalog?

    Hello

I currently use the plug-in Lightroom 4 Revel to publish collections of Revel. If I understand correctly, the Revel plug-in is more included in Lightroom 5 but must be downloaded and installed separately. This isn't a problem, but I wonder what will happen to my existing Revel collections that I published in Lightroom 4 when I update my library Lightroom 5.

If the plugin LR4 is disabled or uninstalled the LR5 upgrade so I guess my Revel collections created in the LR4 will not be migrated to LR5 (given that the Revel plug-in is not installed in the LR5 during the upgrade process, but must be installed afterwards). This probably means that the relationship between collections of Revel in my catalog and collections in the cloud of Revel will be lost. Is this correct? If so, will the collections Revel automatically re-created in LR5 once I have installed the plug-in and log in to Revel? Or do I have to recreate all Revel in LR5 collections manually so that they are found again in the cloud of Revel?

    Kind regards

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

When you update your catalog Lightroom 4 to 5 of Lightroom, the Revel publish collections will be intact.  However, you must install and activate the plugin Revel in Lightroom 5 until you can access your collections to publish.  Once you have the plugin set up, you can continue working with your collections as you did in Lightroom 4.  You will not need to recreate the collections.

  • Add the new column to the table, having trouble adding to an existing form

I added a new column to a table that has an existing report and on this form. I was able to get the new column in the report, but I can't seem to get in shape. Can anyone give me a suggestion as how to proceed without having to recreate the form?

Have you added a new element of the new column and set the source type on DATABASE_COLUMN then the value from the source to your new column name?

  • HD channel added to the existing range of Windows Media Center

I use a Ceton Infinitv card in Windows Media Center Win7 HomePremium.  The NFL Network was added to my cable (!) yesterday Time Warner range.  Is it possible to add this to my line-up without rerunning Setup tv signal?  It is not a clear qam channel so I don't think that I am able to use the "Add a missing channel" option in the menu tasks.  I'm on the cable box in another room, so I know its not already.  Any help would be appreciated.  I don't know on the point to have a lot of people with the same question.

the Ceton diagnostic tool see these channels?

  • New Mac synchronize collections from the existing collections of light room Mobile, what is happening? How can I fix it?

I created an account of lightroom through my iPad and iPhone.  No problem with lightroom it or the PC I have.  Well, now I have a MAC and got the cloud creative apps lightroom and photoshop on it.  Open the ambient light and there is no file not found.  All he wants to import comes from the local disk.  I tried to click on synchronize with mobile and invites me to "remove all synchronized data?

    It also States:

"Lightroom allows you to synchronize a single mobile catalog with lightroom.  You currently sync "Lightroom Catalog.lrcat".

"Do you want to delete all the data synchronized with Lightroom Mobile and synchronize this catalog instead? This will remove all data mobile Lightroom to your mobile devices.  It deletes all the pictures stored on your computer. »

I don't want to delete what is currently on my mobile.  There is no data on the Mac store.  That's what I'm trying to add mobile.  I want that all my data on mobile that I can't see on the two iPad iPhone no problem, to be opened on Mac.  How can I fix it?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

LR mobile works only with a computer and a single catalog on a computer with several mobile devices, phones and or platelets running iOS or Android.

You cannot synchronize 2 different computers with LR mobile even if you use the same catalog on both computers. Whenever LR opens a catalog, even the same, on 2 different computers the file gets catalog a unique identification number, and it is this identification number is used to mobile LR for the synchronization of the collections.

Which to correct a catalog PC. You can move files in LR to keep the changes, and then copy the catalog. He got a little complicated when I tried and I found myself from scratch any movement. I ended up with double copies because I moved t bad but can be done. Thanks for all the help and tutorials, etc.

  • I can't drag photos from the grid of the library to an existing collection.

I have 5 Lightroom and software is up to date. I can create a collection by selecting the photos at the beginning, but after that I can't select the photos and drag to a collection. Don't know what I'm doing wrong because I tried a number of sites of tutorials and help. I'm trying to do this in the library module, grid.

Make sure what you do click - drag on the thumbnail and not the gray frame.

  • Add to the existing collection

How can I add a single image in a collection?  I have a collection of several photos and accidentally deleted and I need to add it to the collection.

    Thank you

    Kevin

Go to the develop module and open the folder corresponding to the image. Now, view the collections in the left panel. Simply drag and drop the photo in the collection. Otherwise, select the image you want, then right-click on the collection. There will be an option to add the images that is highlighted.
