Add images to existing Collection Lr

I hope that it will be understood what I'm trying to ask...

Once a series of selected images were imported in the LR catalog as a collection, is there a way to another collection in the catalogue of the collection in the catalog? I'm having a hard time to find how to import (I do not want to move the original images, but simply add to LR) to a collection that is already in LR. When I select the icon for adding, it I cannot choose a collection to add it to. It is important only in the catalog as a new collection.

Hi skorg,

Well, Add is the option on the import window that initially allows you to add images in the Lightroom Catalog. Once you are done with this process, then you can simply drag your images in the folder collection where you want to add and start editing more far.

It may be useful

Kind regards

Mohit

  • Add to the existing collection

How can I add a single image in a collection?  I have a collection of several photos and accidentally deleted and I need to add it to the collection.

    Thank you

Go to the develop module and open the folder corresponding to the image. Now, view the collections in the left panel. Simply drag and drop the photo in the collection. Otherwise, select the image you want, then right-click on the collection. There will be an option to add the images that is highlighted.

  • Capture of mini-DVs can add to the existing collection of Adobe

I'm in first 11 items in Windows 7 Pro.  I want to capture images of tapes mini DV 40 or more and then add all of this on another computer Windows 7 Pro where Photoshop/first 11 is already installed, with lots of photos and videos already. First, I am clicking on add media, then DV camcorder to capture.  Two problems: first, some captured sequences watch today on all the clips instead of the date they took really and the second how can I simply move all these images to the other computer?  I want all the albums, projects, editing, etc. taking place on the other computer.  Thank you for the thoughts!

When your film is captured, Premiere Elements will display the date is saved to the hard disk. Not the date at which it was shot. For this you will need a program called Date DV.

To move all the sequences captured on another computer, simply drop all reviews on an external hard drive, that move to another computer and then copy them to the hard drive of this computer.

To copy all the metadata, use the Organizer to perform any movement of file. You can do this by selecting all the files you want to move into the Organizer media browser and then move to the file menu of the Organizer.

If you use the Finder or Windows Explorer, rather than the Organizer to move the files, the metadata does not travel with them.

  • How to add the virtual copy to an existing collection

    Hello

    I use LR 5.7.x in Win7 environment.

I have an existing collection within a collection set. I would like to add a virtual copy of an image to this collection. Is there a way to do this in one step?

If I select the image and press B, he puts a - not a virtual copy - copy into the target. The only way I see to do this is to first make the virtual copy, copy it to the target collection and finally remove the copy virtual from the original location.

    Best regards

    Scott

    Hi scott_o,

To add a virtual copy to a collection, you must create a virtual copy. When it is created, set the collection (to which you want to import pictures or virtual copies to) as target collection.

Once this is done, you must select the image or the virtual copy, then press B to add to the target collection.

Note: Add collection does not all copies of the image file.

In addition, if you remove the virtual copy in the catalog, it will be removed from the collection as well.

Let me know if it helps.

  • How to add photos to an existing collection?

Tutorials, show how to start a collection, but do not go on to show you how to come back later and add photos newly selected to an already existing collection. I went through the menus but don't see anything that says "Add to the collection," I need help with this one.

    TIA,

    Ken

Ken, in my opinion, the easiest is to simply drag them from the library/grid. Make sure you take one of your files selected by the thumbnail of the image and not the border gray and all the images can be moved to your collection.

  • the button to add an image to a collection on my image went in the library module. How can I get that back?

Press [J] to toggle the info of the image, then the gray appears on the preview image.

  • Add an image to a collection of photo book

I created an album recorded with 50 pictures in the collection.  How can I add a picture from another file (why can't us simply 'open' as with other software?)

I suggest you to simply drag and drop the image in the collection of books in the library module.

  • Added new photos to an existing collection

I can't add new photos to an existing collection, because the cursor will not enter the thumbnail. In what must be a related problem, I can't reorganize my thumbnails mode grid for the same reason. How to solve this problem, or at least work around it?

    Thank you

Is this a case of click the border around the image rather than the image itself real? You can't drag the border. You must click directly on the image.

  • Adding images to the collection

I'm doing the simplest thing, without success. I have created a collection and want to add twenty images to it. In the grid view, I select my twenty photos, but can not drag and drop them in the collection folder. I right clicked the folder, looked in all the menus, but can find no reference to adding photos to an existing collection. Obviously, I'm missing something very simple, but I don't know what it is.

    Thanks in advance,

    Gary

You must drag from the center of the images in the collection. Gray no surrounds.

  • How can I restore all images in a collection at the original imported proportions?

In general, I select all images in a catalog, resize the first image to 640 x 480.  I then right click on the first image (all images are always selected) click settings to develop, sync and choose to sync only the proportions.  All images are then cut to 640 x 480 as the first picture, that I then export to a folder.

Then I need to restore all the images in the original proportions for creating a slide show export to my Web site.  I followed the same procedure is selected all the images, click on the first image, change the original appearance, right click on the first picture and sync proportions for all images.

The problem is that the rest images do not return to their original proportions, but return to the aspect ratio of 4 x 6 instead of the original size when they are imported.  I changed the lock open and tried both but still no result.  Now I have to select each image individually, open the dialog of cultures and choose custom to retrieve for the imported image format.

How do I batch restore images from a collection to the image format when imported?

I see, it is something you do at the end of your treatment, for the slide show to a Web site special... maybe you said it at the beginning, but I respond by e-mail and don't see any of these messages.

In any case, what you can do is to export all your images with their existing to a subfolder (original) aspect ratio, somewhere and add those to the library using the parameter to the top near where you set the directory put them in, and then set a harvest of 4:3 on these imported JPGs and their re-export in 640 x 480 for the RMLS site.  If it is a unique thing for each collection, you could easily just delete both sets of jpg files to your library and the drive to keep the use of extra space, or at least those intermediate.  As you said, that it was a collection, perhaps from different folders, but if they all come from the same folder, to make the JPGs intermediaries and the jpg final 640 x 480 as subdirectories in the original in order to better RAWs keep track of them.

  • Adding images to the Collection of books [was: Blurb book Question]

I'm doing a book with Blurb from a collection of photos in LR. I've added two pictures to the collection I wanted to add to the book, but they do not appear when I pass 'Library' to 'book '. How can I make it appear? Thank you!

    Hi sunlovinggirl,

Once you add the images to the collection of books, they appear on the film when you return to the book Module so that you can add them to your book pages.

You should look for them in the film.

  • Deletion of images of the collections or objects

HI - there doesn't seem to be a way to remove a background image or article/collection.

Any chance you could add a check box to "Delete Image"

    Thank you!

    David

I'll leave the PMs the request address.

In the meantime, I keep an invisible png file for just this situation. Charge it to erase the previous image.

    I use an invisible png 100 x 100, I think it's easier to find than a 1 x 1 invisible png.

This is not possible with the Muse/BC in the edition browser at the moment. You can only modify and replace existing ones.

In LR3 is drag / drop the only way to add a photo to an existing collection?

    Thank you

    Win 7

Alternatively, you can right-click a collection and set it as the target collection, then use the B button to add to this collection.
