additional graphics card

I have a HP Pavilion HPE series, the number of model h8 - 1380t.  The specifications are in the link below.  I have a PSU 460W.  I would like to replace my gt630 with a gtx770.  I know I have to upgrade my power supply.

My question is the motherboard in this cabable of model of double implemented in SLI graphics cards?

If so I would size the power supply for the SLI then instead of just the card solo, just in case I have add a second card in the future.  All recommendations regarding the additional cooling for a gtx 770 equipment would suspect that it is necessary or not?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Typical GTX770 needs 230W. Allowing 300W for all essential items except the GTX is appropriate. Then add the GTX, and you get 530W. That's why HP recommends a 600W power supply in the config it is with the HD7950, which uses only 200W.  By projecting your scenerio, you'll need more 750W. A custom player would be a better choice, built for fan kits or water cooling.

Is there another way to use a graphics card?

    Hello

He already has a video chip (card). As mentioned above, no way you can add an external video card in your machine. In fact, there is a way that requires the following steps:

buy a new motherboard that supports an external video card.

    (b) buy a new video card,

    (c) buy a new cooling system,

    (d) you may need new power supply (charger)

And at the end of the day, your machine may NOT work as you dream and the total cost would be more than the price of a new, better computer.

Hope this is what explains a bit more.

    Kind regards.

I would use 3 or 4 screens simultaneously running my PC with a different application.  That would be the ideal situation for my family tree project.  Is this possible?  Do I need another graphics card?  The graphics on the PC is an AMD Radeon R9 270, it already has 2 outputs and HDMI output but I struggle with this output, I can't use at the same time as the other 2 outputs.

  • I can add graphics card on my computer hp laptop 2000-2120tu

    Hello..
I use a hp 2000-2120tu of 2012. I just want to know if I can add an additional graphics card about it. My friend just bought a laptop and he added a new (2 GB nvidea geforce) graphics card on this subject with the integrated intel hd 4000. It installed the drivers for the two, and it can use both now. Can I do this?

I don't know what you're trying to tell us that your friend did. Laptops are now frequently with a double or switchable graphics, but that's the way they are built at the factory. Except for a very few cell phones very expensive, they don't have any locations module where you can select a video card to place in the system. Your laptop has no option for any graph other than what you have which is graphic Intel HD 3000.

    Hi waheedkhan

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum!

To install additional video card for laptop is not possible as desktop, as the video card is integrated with the motherboard. However you can contact Dell technical support if they can provide an additional location for add video card. Here is the link to the support technology guide below: http://support.dell.com

  • Black screen after the addition of graphics card to H530

I am installing an EVGA Geoforce GTX 560 Ti in a H530. I have updated to 600w POWER supply and tried to set the parameters of the BIOS to the appropriate values. The BIOS settings are: display = AUTO, Secure Boot = Disabled, CSM = on, the Boot Mode = Auto (also tried Legacy), Boot Priority = first Legacy, Video Display = Auto (also tried PEG). Whenever I install the card and start, the screen appears black. Once I remove the card, the display returns normally. On board graphics uses VGA, GTX uses DVI. Any ideas?

OK, it's pretty embarrassing that I almost didn't write back. The monitor I was using has entered both VGA and DVI. Apparently, it is default to VGA and I found a source selector to choose digital & now everything is cool.
Why I decided to write back, also the closure of this point, is to note that higher speed graphics cards can be supported by the H530. I installed an EVGA GTX560 Ti, which is not the fastest of the world map, but it looks like that he compared with the list of maps in the maintenance manual which IMO aren't enough of an improvement to bother with. Anyway, maybe the Bios settings, I've used will help someone else.

  • addition of graphics card?

so I bought a HP Pavilion 500-164 for Christmas, and I'll tell you, NOT what the man at best buy told me it was going to be. I came home, hung, then went straight to downloading games. Told me it would be battlefield 4 on medium graphics (which im happy) and he wouldn't even run DOTA 2 upstairs! I was wondering if there is a way to add a graphics card to the 500-164 Pavilion. any help is evaluated. Thank you

Yes, you can upgrade the power supply of the computer.  Here's a sample of what will work.  You must measure the existing PSU and compare the measurements to the one you choose.  This ensures that it will not go in the space provided.

  • Addition of new graphics card

Recently, I wana add new graphics from my computer. My PC is Presario CQ3160D. I discovered that my diet is just 180W, so then I can still add a graphics card? I buy ATI 5670.

    Hello RJHong,

I took a quick glance to your pc and the ATI 5670 series tends to require a significant energy source (about 400 watts I think).  Here's a form on an ATI 5670 card example:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814102902&cm_re=ATI_5670-_-14-102-902-_-product

Any new video card you Pick-up with similar specs to the 5670 more than likely going to need a new power supply.  I recommend that take you measurements in your case for the power supply and your new video card.  I hope this helps.

A last note, make sure that your PCI X 16 slot can support a PCI Express 2.0 card.

    Thank you very much

Yes it will work in a 3.1 based on:

  • Help on graphics card memory and upgrade for iMac

    Hello!

I need advice on a good new graphics card for iMac 27 inch end 2012. My work is mainly in animation, Visual effects and game development soon, so I need an additional card to increase my speed.

Currently, I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB card. Do you think I should stick to a similar card? Is there something new that will offer me better performance at an affordable cost?

I don't have much money to spend, but I can certainly use additional graphics now.

I have also 2 remaining memory locations that accepts DDR3 1600 MHz memory module, but it seems that this module is no longer available. If I had to choose between a graphics card and RAM, which should I go with?

Finally, can I install these myself? I don't have any Apple Store around me and I do not trust the computer guys in my area.

First of all, the iMacs are notoriously difficult to make something with except add RAM. Here is a good site where you can get some info on the dismantling, etc.:

    https://www.iFixit.com/

Usually, graphics cards should be replaced with the same model/type of work (if any) - see above site for this kind of info. I'm quite sure that you cannot add just one - iMac is not designed for it.

Regarding the RAM, just check out OWC for necessary RAM:

    https://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/memory/iMac/2012_27/DDR3L

Check that your model is listed. I don't know where you would have been told that the RAM is no longer available (FWIW, Apple does not sell RAM and uses of third party RAM in the new Macs).

I'd go with the RAM - how many do you have now? Adding RAM is easy.

    @Storuu

Yes, it works with a motherboard that has UEFI.  However, HP has their motherboards made to their specifications and is not the same as the commercial versions.  It is difficult to find a motherboard that has holes to match the accessory in the case.  In addition, the connectors in the case aren't always the same thing as retail motheboards.
